Straight Lines have developed a growing fanbase with their popular punk-rock style, and have toured with bands including Motorhead, The Automatic and Kids In Glass Houses. Their debut album, Persistence, was self released and has so far produced two singles.

Taking place at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, the festival has an incredible line-up with headliners Metallica on the Friday (July 8th), Biffy Clyro on Saturday (July 9th) and Slipknot closing the festival on the Sunday (July 10th). Also appearing across the weekend on the Apollo (main) stage are Slayer, Megadeth, Weezer, You Me At Six, Limp Biscuit and Motorhead. Headlining the Saturn stage are The Mars Volta (Saturday 8th) and Bill Bailey (Sunday 9th). Also on the second stage are All Time Low, Sum 41, Opeth and Airbourne.

Even though Sonisphere only began in 2009, the festival is famous for its charged atmosphere and frequently world-class line-ups.

The Foo Fighters frontman started off as a punk rock drummer before rising to superstardom in grunge band Nirvana. Grohl said he dislikes the purist attitude some bands have toward successful groups.

He told Q Magazine: “Don’t get me started on guilt. Honestly, guilt and music should have nothing to do with each other. Growing up in the punk rock scene, unfortunately there were rules. You’d imagine that’d be the one place you’d be free of any boundaries. But you weren’t supposed to do certain things.”

The ‘Nicest Man in Rock’ went further. “To me, I was a musician. I loved the Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains and all this punk rock, but I also loved Motorhead, Venom and ABBA. I didn’t have that guilt. I can be friendly with the Jonas Brothers and Bob Mould.”

Dave, 42, added that while he wasn’t guilty for his success, it deeply affected Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994.

He said: “The whole thing with guilt is… Of course it burnt a hole in Kurt’s stomach. It had a lot to do with how uneasy he felt about Nirvana’s success. But I didn’t.”

Foo Fighters’ seventh album ‘Wasting Light’ is released on April 11. Foo Fighters have sold almost 20 million albums in their career to date.

Hard Rock Calling tickets have been falling in price in recent weeks, with tickets to see Paul McCartney on the final day of the festival, Sunday 27th June, now trading from £32. In fact, it is cheaper to buy Paul McCartney tickets for his Hard Rock Calling performance than to buy tickets for any of his scheduled stadium shows. With a general admission day ticket, fans will gain full entry to the festival and can also witness performances from the likes of Crowded House, Elvis Costello and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Hard Rock Calling takes place in Hyde Park from Friday 25th June to Sunday 27th June. Hard Rock Calling tickets for Pearl Jam’s headline performance on the Friday can also be picked up for £32. Saturday tickets for Stevie Wonder’s headline appearance start at £45.

Download Festival tickets are still available, despite the event getting under way tomorrow. Download weekend tickets are currently available on the secondary ticket market for less than £150. Music fans with download tickets will have the chance to witness headline performances from AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine and Aerosmith. This year’s line up also includes Deftones, Motorhead, Slash, 30 Seconds to Mars, Bullet For My Valentine, The Blackout and A Day to Remember.

Hop Farm Festival tickets are also trading below face value. Hop Farm Festival may not be the most talked about festival of the summer, but it will this year play host to the likes of Bob Dylan, Pete Doherty, Van Morrison, Laura Marling and Seasick Steve. The festival takes place in Tonbridge this July and day tickets cost around £45 each, with camping tickets costing £25 on top of that.

Although no act has been confirmed for the Download Festival yet, in December AC/DC announced on their official website they were playing the festival, only for it to be taken down minutes later. Also heavily rumoured for the Donington Park event are Pearl Jam, Muse, Motorhead, Bullet For My Valentine and Volbeat.

B’estfest which represents the highlight of the Romanian music calendar will take place across two outdoor stages and one indoor Arena.

UK fans will have the opportunity to catch Orbital and Motorhead in the coming months with the tickets available from £23 and £25 respectively.

Orbital will be making a handful of appearances  on this June at Brighton Dome (June 10) and O2 Academy Leeds (June 11). Orbital will set out on tour this coming September with shows at Manchester Academy (September 18 & 19), O2 Academy Newcastle (September 21) and O2 Academy Sheffield (September 23). The Orbital tour will come to an end with two dates at the O2 Academy Brixton (September 24 and 25).
