Fans’ of the band will be happy to hear that they will be performing at Greenhead park in Huddersfield on the 2nd of June, followed by a performance at Salt Hill Park in Galway, on June 9th.

As well as the festivals, the band are also reportedly planning to play a small UK tour to roadtest their new material in June. A statement from Mumford and Sons said of the tour:

“We want to stop off in towns not usually heavily toured by bands, and celebrate the people, food and music that inhabit them. We’re keen to promote the town’s local businesses, and we’ll be using the local bars and venues for aftershow parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular.

“There will be a host of our friends playing too …. It should be a whole lot of fun.”

<a

Speaking to Q, frontman Marcus Mumford said, “With these giant shows I always feel the first few rows aren’t real. There’s an ecstasy that happens when you’re in the front rows of a gig, it doesn’t matter who’s onstage, it’s always a frenzy and you’re squashed and you’re probably quite drunk so that’s not the reality. So, if you can engage the furthest person back, then you can get everyone else to engage.”

Mumford also revealed that nerves can get to them when the pressure is on: “Forgetting words is the worst, it happens a lot, especially when we do live television.” He said they also suffered from “shaking, panic attacks, sweating a lot, crying a little bit, a desperate need for the toilet.”

Mumford & Sons support Arcade Fire this Thursday (June 30th).

<a

Arcade Fire begun June with an epic headline set at Bonnaroo, and are surely set to repeat that in Hyde Park. That show featured frontman Win Butler singing crowd favourite We Used To Wait from a platform within the audience, and their show earlier in the year at Coachella featured an awe-inspiring stage show of giant balloons, so UK fans travelling to London on Thursday are sure to be delighted. Performing tracks from their hit 2010 album The Suburbs, as well as old favourites from incredible debut album Funeral and critically acclaimed follow-up Neon Bible, Arcade Fire are famous for their energised live shows and diverse range of musical skills, with each member able to play multiple instruments.

This weekend Hyde Park played host to Hard Rock Calling, featuring stunning headline sets from The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart. This coming weekend will see Wireless Festival descend on Hyde Park, featuring headline sets from The Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

As well as playing Hyde Park, the band will play Benicassim and August shows in Manchester and a special show at Edinburgh Castle.

<a
