Tim Minchin To Star In First Arena Tour Of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’

The first ever UK arena tour of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical, Jesus Christ Superstar has today been announced!

Award-winning musical comedian Tim Minchin has been confirmed for the role of ‘Judas Iscariot’. Former Spice Girl and sucessful solo artist, Melanie C will take the female lead playing ‘Mary Magdalene’, and BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show host Chris Moyles will make his major stage debut as ‘King Herod’, in what is set to be one of the biggest and most impressive arena tours to hit the UK.

In similar vein to shows like; ‘Any Dream Will Do‘, ‘Over The Rainbow‘ and ‘I’d Do Anything‘, Lloyd Webber will find his ‘Jesus’ role with a panel of live show judges on ITV’s ‘Superstar‘.

Speaking about landing the role as JC, Minchin said; “As a huge fan of Jesus Christ Superstar, I’ve always thought it needed 3 key things: a big cast and band; loads of volume; and me playing Judas. I’ve been in two small productions of the show, and understudied the big man both times. I am really bloody excited about this.”

Celebrating 40 years since it first opened in London’s West End, the Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour kicks off in London on 21st September.

Twin Atlantic Announce New UK Tour

It looks to be a busy old year of touring for Glaswegian alt-rock band, Twin Atlantic, who have just announced a comprehensive UK tour today. This follows from their support slot on the current Blink 182 tour, as well as a number of festival dates during the summer.

The band are currently getting huge radio play with their latest single ‘Make A Beast Of Myself’, with the track added to the Radio 1 A list – their previous single ‘Free‘ was on the A list for an unprecedented 8 weeks.

Blink 182 Confirm UK & European Tour Dates Will Go Ahead As Scheduled

Blink 182 have revealed that the UK and European leg of their currently postponed tour will definitely happen as planned.

The band posted the following news on their website: “The North American cancellation does not affect any European tour dates. Blink 182 will start their summer run as planned in Birmingham, UK on June 7th.”

They also rather bluntly posted this to their Facebook page:

* NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE EUROPEAN SHOWS*

Blink-182 are on the road in support of their album ‘Neighborhoods‘ which was released in September 2011 and the first new music released by the band since 2003.

Latitude Festival 2012 Adds New Acts To Line-up

Already boasting one of the best festival line-ups of the summer, Latitude Festival yesterday revealed yet more artists who would be pitching up their tents in the long grasses of Henham Park this July.

The festival has already announced headline acts like; Bon Iver, Elbow and Paul Weller, but had kept back a few suprises for closer the time. New acts across a variety of stages were yesterday released, with some highlights being; Catherine AD, Slow Club, King Charles, Smoke Fairies and Of Monsters And Men.

At The Lake Stage, BBC Radio 1 DJ and champion of new music, Huw Stephens has been asked to curate his own line-up. Headline slots go to sonically challenging, electro-indie group Clock Opera, while other acts include:

Los Campesinos! / Herman Düne / Alt-J / Lucy Rose / Seye / The Crookes / Kwes / Weird Dreams / POLIÇA / Tall Ships / Hooray for Earth / Tim Ten Yen / Theme Park / The Cast of Cheers / Cate Le Bon / Sam Airey / Peace.

Alongside all the top notch musical activity, Latitude has proved its diversity, by including a number of other productions, including film, theatre and comedy.

Sadler’s Wells will present an excerpt from the hugely popular Sadler’s Wells Production, The Most Incredible Thing on The Waterfront Stage. A collaboration between pop legends Pet Shop Boys and choreographer/director Javier De Frutos, The Most Incredible Thing, won the Evening Standard’s inaugural Beyond Theatre Award after its premiere in 2011, and recently enjoyed a return run at the theatre this spring.

On the Film and Music Arena Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller and co-director Nick Abraham present their new film The Bruce Lacey Experience. Three years in the making, the film examines Lacey’s remarkable legacy as an all-round cultural chameleon. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Jeremy Deller. The Royal Albert Hall arrives at Latitude presenting the innovative violinist Hahn-Bin. One of the world’s most exciting and original classical musicians, Hahn-Bin is not only a prodigious talent but a style visionary who recently graced the cover of fashion bible i-D Magazine. Hahn-Bin recently launched The Renaissance of Classical Music, a project which aims to bring the style into mainstream culture.

In the Comedy Arena, Jack Dee, Brian Cox, Tim Minchin and others will be joined by Phill Jupitus, as well as multi award-winning, fringe sell-out, mind reader who can’t read minds, Chris Cox and revered Canadian stand-up Tony Law will be regaling audiences with his time travelling exploits in the company of his infamous sausage dog.

With the fall in the number of traditional summer festivals in the UK this year, Latitude is surely one of the hottest tickets in town for those who want to while the days away baking in a sweaty tent and drinking warm cider.

Yeasayer Announce US Tour Dates

Brooklyn band Yeasayer have today announced news of their forthcoming mini-tour of the US. Hitting the road between the 19-24 June, the boys will play a select few dates in the South of the country and finish the jaunt with a trip up to the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, Canada.

It has been two years since the bands last studio LP and fans will be hopeful of some new material coming their way on this one. Yeasayer left a message on their website recently saying; ‘summer 2012 + shows + new songs?‘ – so fans travelling to these shows can be excused for feeling expectant.

New Site Allows Fans To Vote For An Artist’s Live Venue

In a similar mould to sites such as Kickstarter, the fan lead, artist funding website; Detourjam has sprouted up to offer a interactive service for the live music industry.

It is well known, now, that making money in the recorded music business has become notoriously difficult and sits upon a somewhat stale market currently, and that performing your music live is where artists are finding much of their revenue with large corporate sponsorship deals for some of the major artists out there such as Madonna.

In short, Detourjam’s system works by the performers giving the company their tour schedules and then the site offers fans the potential dates to different cities in a race to 100 pledges. The venue with the most pledges wins and details of the gig are announced.

It is still very early days for the internet startup, but things are looking promising for them. Their first race was for a gig by Ninja Tune artist Emika featuring a DJ sets from Micachu and Raisa K was won by London (suprise, suprise…); beating challenges from the likes of Bournemouth, Milton Keynes and York. The current race is for Holy Other, supported by Lapalux and the Haxan Cloak, and is being fought out between Brighton, Bristol, London and Leeds together.

Canadian indie band, Metric have today announced that they will be touring across the US in support of their fifth studio album ‘Synthetica’.

With UK and other European dates already scheduled, it seems the band is hitting the road for the long-term. Take a listen to their latest release ‘Youth Without Youth‘ here.

The tour begins 26th May at the Sasquatch Music Festival before coming to Europe and Canada. The US leg of the tour begins 6th September.

American Alt-Rock Band, Death Cab For Cutie have not yet finished touring with the Magik*Magik Orchestra, but have just announced that they will be plotting an 18-show jaunt around the US & Canada, taking in both small venues as well as some larger festivals.

Starting 30th June, the band will tour till the end of July playing 80/35 Festival and Firefly Music Festival along the way. There really is no excuse for missing these guys this summer!

Black Sabbath Announce Intimate UK Warm-up Show

Heavy Metal godfathers Black Sabbath have just announced that they will be playing a small warm-up show prior to their headline slot at this years Download Festival. The show will be hosted at Birmingham’s intimate O2 Academy and will be a chance for you to see the band’s original line-up in action for the first time since reuiniting late last year.

The show will be a rare chance to catch Sabbath guitarist Toni Iommi performing live and up-close, as due to his on-going treatment for lymphoma, he will not be able to take part in the whole of the bands forthcoming European Tour this summer. The show takes place on Saturday 19th May, with tickets going on sale from 9am Friday 4th May.

The band will be headlining the final night of Donnington’s Download Festival on Sunday 10th June and then go on to tour much of Europe, seeing special guests stand in for Iommi such as former Guns N’ Roses man Slash and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde. Primal Scream have confirmed that they’re to play an intimate UK tour for this June, with the shows actthing as warm-ups for the band’s performances at Isle Of Wight Festival and Hop Farm Festival later in the summer.

The band, who completed their 18-month tour in support of the reissue of their seminal 1991 album ‘Screamadelica’ last year, are set to perform on three separate dates in Scotland this summer.

The gigs kick off at Inverness Ironworks on June 14, before moving on to Aberdeen Music Hall on June 15 - with the band wrap things up with a headline show at Edinburgh’s Queens Hall on June 16.

Editors confirm low-key show in June

Following the split from Chris Urbanowicz, Editors have recently announced that they’re to play a low key show at HMV Institute Birmingham on Wednesday June 27th, 2012.

The Birmingham group are currently working on their fourth album, but announced yesterday that guitarist Urbanowicz was leaving ‘in a decision entirely based upon future musical direction.’

In a statement on the band’s official website, the group revealed they had made the ‘massively painful’ decision to part ways with Chris after ten years, but said the parting was amicable.

‘In a decision entirely based upon future musical direction, and with huge sadness, Editors and Chris Urbanowicz have parted ways,’ the group said.

Mumford & Sons announce two new dates for summer tour

Mumford and Sons, whose hits include Little Lion Man and The Cave have added two new destinations to their summer tour. Fans’ of the band will be happy to hear that they will be performing at Greenhead park in Huddersfield on the 2nd of June, followed by a performance at Salt Hill Park in Galway, on June 9th.

As well as the festivals, the band are also reportedly planning to play a small UK tour to roadtest their new material in June. A statement from Mumford and Sons said of the tour:

“We want to stop off in towns not usually heavily toured by bands, and celebrate the people, food and music that inhabit them. We’re keen to promote the town’s local businesses, and we’ll be using the local bars and venues for aftershow parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular.

“There will be a host of our friends playing too …. It should be a whole lot of fun.”

Hop Farm music festival back for another Summer

Hop Farm Music Festival is back for it’s fifth summer with some of it’s greatest acts to date. With the likes of Bob Dylan, Maximo Park, Primal Scream and Damien Rice all taking to the stage.

Vince Power created the festival in 2008, his 1st UK festival after selling the Mean Fiddler. The festival boasts a NO SPONSORSHIP, NO BRANDING and NO VIP’s ethos, it is a festival for serious music fans, mixing legends with contemporary acts. Now a 3-day event with a capacity of up to 50k, 2012 will be it’s 5th year.

US singer Lady GaGa picked up four awards at last night’s MTV Europe Music Awards, winning the Best Female, Best Song, Best Video and Biggest Fans categories at the ceremony in Belfast.

The pop sensation celebrated her success with a performance of her latest single, Marry The Night, footage of which can be seen below.

Two acts to be eliminated from the X Factor this weekend

Rumours suggest that two X Factor acts could face elimination from the competition this weekend. Show boss Simon Cowell is said to be hoping that the news will improve the “quality and dedication” of year’s contestants.

The music mogul is said to be keen to boost the lagging ratings of the show with the shock double eviction.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “Cowell wasn’t messing around when he spoke to them and he left them in no doubt they all needed to improve. He can’t be here because he is so busy in the States but he hopes this will help the singers and the ratings.”

The remaining contestants after this weekend’s show are likely to take part in next year’s X Factor Live Tour, which is set to hit UK arenas throughout February, March and April. The stars of the current series will perform hits from the show at venues such as London O2 Arena, Manchester MEN Arena and Birmingham LG Arena. X Factor tickets are on sale now.

The Wanted to support Britney Spears at final Femme Fatale UK show in Manchester

UK boyband The Wanted have been confirmed as the support act for the final Britney Spears UK show of 2011. The US singer will end the UK leg of her Femme Fatale tour at Manchester MEN Arena this Sunday, 6th November.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Spears wrote: “So the boys from @thewantedmusic came to my Wembley show & we hung out backstage! Love them!”

She added, “I’ve asked them to open my show in Manchester on Sunday. Who’s coming? Going to be a lot of fun!! -Brit”

The Wanted are set to release their second album, Battleground, next week, and will embark on a UK tour of their own early next year.

Justin Bieber to perform in Belfast this November at MTV EMA’s

Justin Bieber has been confirmed as the final act to perform at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. The event will take place at Belfast Odyssey Arena on Sunday 6th November.

Canadian star Bieber will join the likes of Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jessie J, Bruno Mars, Snow Patrol, David Guetta, LMFAO and Red Hot Chili Peppers in performing at the spectacle.

Speaking about the event, the singer stated, “It’s really exciting to be a part of the MTV EMA this year. I can’t wait to get to Belfast.”

UK band Coldplay will perform at the show on the back of the release of their number one album, Mylo Xyloto, and are nominated for Best Live Act, Best Rock Act and best UK and Ireland Act. The group will go on to perform headline arena shows this December.

Former X Factor star to return to the show this weekend

Former X Factor star Cher Lloyd will return to the show this weekend, to perform live on the Sunday night results show. The singer came fourth in last year’s competition, going on to sign a deal with Syco music. She hit the top of the UK single chart with her debut release, Swagger Jagger.

Also appearing on the show will be former Pussycat Dolls star, Nicole Scherzinger. Scherzinger recently confirmed details of her first ever solo UK tour, and will perform shows in February next year.

The singer released her debut album earlier this year, titled Killer Love, following the success of singles such as Poison, Don’t Hold Your Breath and Right There.

X Factor group Rhythmix forced to change name

X Factor group Rhythmix have been forced to change their name, after a battle with a charity with the same title. A new name looks set to be confirmed before this weekend’s live shows.

Mark Davyd, the chief executive of music charity Rhythmix, criticised the show after revealing his organisation was launching a legal battle to protect their brand.

An X Factor spokeswoman said, “At the request of the charity Rhythmix, the members of the girl group Rhythmix have decided to change their name, a decision which has the support of Syco and TalkbackTHAMES. The group’s new name will be announced in due course.”

Last week, 31-year-old Sami Brooks was eliminated from the competition, with 10 contestants now remaining. The final 8 singers will be included in next year’s X Factor Live Tour, which will hit UK arenas throughout February, March and April. X Factor tickets are on sale now.

Fans of US singer-songwriter Tom Waits are now urging the artist to confirm a new tour, following the release of his new album, Bad As Me. The singer has received a number of positive reviews for the record, and fans have now taken to internet forums to ask the singer for a series of live shows.

The last Tom Waits tour took place in 2008, in support of the release of his previous album, Glitter and Doom. The singer’s new release is his first composed of entirely new music since 2004, adding fuel to the rumours that a live shows, including UK and Ireland tour dates, may be on the horizon.

Coldplay awaiting reaction to album before announcing new tour dates

Coldplay have revealed that they will await the reaction from fans towards their new album, before making any new tour plans. The Group will release Mylo Xyloto, their fifth studio album, on 24th October, and have suggested that they could reveal a number of new UK shows should the reaction be positive.

Speaking in a recent interview with the Rolling Stone, lead singer Chris Martin said, “You can’t take anything for granted any more. It doesn’t matter if you used to be big or used to be famous; you’ve got to prove yourself all over again.

“We don’t have any immediate touring plans. We’ve just got to wait and see if anyone is interested in listening to the album. I don’t really care any more about being relevant. I’m just happy to be with that group of people.

“We’re very fired up and we’re very focused and the people who want to enjoy our music, we love them and we welcome them. In terms of where we fit in? I don’t care.”

Coldplay are set to perform three UK shows this December, and could be set to announce additional dates after the album is released next week. Coldplay tickets are on sale now for the following shows:

Roadiohead reveal tour plans for 2012

Radiohead have revealed more details regarding a 2012 tour. Rumours of live appearances throughout next year have been circulating for some time, and the band have now claimed that plans are already in place.

Speaking to 6Music, guitarist Ed O’Brien assured fans that a tour would take place, whilst also revealing details about the shows. “We’re finalising dates now. We’ll be on the road from the end of February to November and we’ll be playing in both the UK and US, the usual ports of call.”

O’Brien also stated that the performances will be focussed around the group’s latest album, King Of Limbs. “It has to be a set in itself, last time we went out it was ‘In Rainbows’ and a greatest hits. It’s not going to be like that this time. It’s going to be predominately from this record and the last one and then we’ll see which songs fit around that.”

Tickets for 2012 Radiohead tour dates are likely to go on sale in the new year.

US stars Lady GaGa and Bruno Mars are the latest acts to be confirmed to appear at the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast. The ceremony will take place at Belfast Odyssey Arena on Sunday 6th November, with acts such as Coldplay, Jessie J, LMFAO and Red Hot Chili Peppers already confirmed to perform.

Lady Gaga looks set to dominate this year’s EMAs after picking up six nominations, including appearing on the shortlist for Best Pop Act and Best Female Act.

Lady GaGa is scheduled to make a number of UK appearances in the coming months, and it is widely expected that the singer will announce details of a 2012 tour in the coming weeks. Jessie J, Coldplay and LMFAO have been announced to perform at the 2011 MTV EMAs. The acts have all been nominated for multiple awards this year, and will join previously confirmed performers Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony will take place at Belfast Odyssey Arena on 6th November and will be hosted by US star Selena Gomez.

UK act Jessie J will appear at the show just days after completing her upcoming UK tour. Speaking about the event, the singer said, “I can’t quite believe I’m nominated for three awards. It’s like a dream, I keep pinching myself. And being nominated for Best UK/Ireland Act alongside artists like Adele, Coldplay, Kasabian and Florence is an honour.”

Jessie J tickets are available for performances throughout October and November, including two consecutive nights at London’s HMV Apollo.

Elton John confirms outdoor Chesterfield show for June 2012

Legendary musician Sir Elton John will perform a huge outdoor show in Chesterfield next year, it has been confirmed. The British songwriter and performer will take to the stage at the B2Net Stadium on Saturday 9th June, in a show which is likely to be part of an outdoor summer tour.

Promoters have confirmed that Elton John will perform a two hour set full of his greatest hits, including Rocket Man, Pinball Wizard, Crocodile Rock, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Candle in the Wind. The singer delighted fans across the UK throughout the summer of 2011, performing a number of outdoor stadium shows.

Elton John tickets for the Chesterfield show are set to go on sale this Friday, 30th September, at 9am.

Snow Patrol confirm support act for 2012 live tour

Snow Patrol have announced the support act for their early 2012 UK and Ireland tour. Everything Everything will accompany the band throughout the jaunt, which is set to begin in January next year.

Everything Everything have become one of the most exciting UK bands around over the past 12 months, and were short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize earlier this year for their debut album Man Alive.

So far only tour dates in Belfast and Dublin have been confirmed, with further details of UK arena shows set to be announced next week. The groups will take to the stage at Dublin O2 Arena on 21st January and Belfast Odyssey Arena on 23rd.

Thom Yorke confirms Radiohead tour plans for 2012

Radiohead front-man Thom Yorke has confirmed that the band plan to tour throughout 2012.

Appearing on Giles Peterson’s show on BBC Radio 1 last night, Yorke said, “The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year.”

The musician also revealed that he is working on a new album as part of his super-band Atoms For Peace alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.

Radiohead have only played one gig this year since the release of their new album The King Of Limbs – a secret show at Glastonbury Festival.

Radiohead tour dates and ticket details could be revealed by the end of the year.

Example adds extra UK arena tour dates for 2012 due to high demand

UK rapper Example has confirmed details of two additional tour dates, set to take place in April and May 2012. Tickets for the musician’s first ever arena tour went on sale last week, and new concerts in Birmingham and Newcastle have now been added, with even more expected to be announced shortly.

The news of the tour follows the release of Example’s latest album, Playing In the Shadows.

Tickets for the additional Example tour dates at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on 21st April and Birmingham NIA on 1st May will go on sale this Friday, 23rd September.

The full list of nominees for this year’s MTV EMA’s has been confirmed. Lady GaGa has dominated the list, picking up six nominations, whilst Katy Perry and Bruno Mars both have four nominations each.

A host of big names have been confirmed for the 2011 BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards. The show will take place at Wembley Arena in London on 9th October 2011.

The line-up for the event was announced today, with Pixie Lott headlining, supported by performances from the likes of X Factor stars One Direction and Cher Lloyd. Jason Derulo, Joe Jonas and Ed Sheeran will also appear.

The Teen Awards are staged to celebrate the achievements of inspirational young people, as well as honouring music, sport and entertainment stars. The entire show will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 1 and streamed online.

The first acts set to perform at the T4 Stars Of 2011 concert have now been confirmed. Jessie J, The Wanted, Professor Green, Wretch 32 will all take part in this year’s event, with more acts set to be announced in the coming weeks.

The concert will take place at London’s Earl’s Court on 11th December, and will also feature appearances from the cast of Hollyoaks and Made In Chelsea.

2010′s event featured performances from JLS, Tinie Tempah, Pixie Lott, Jason Derulo, The Saturdays and Example with the show being broadcast on T4 and 4Music.

Rihanna looks set to release a brand new album, and it could arrive by the end of 2011, after the US singer hinted at the possibility of a new record on Twitter.

When asked by fans about new material, Rihanna Tweeted, “Yassss!” Adding, “Yaaayy I can’t wait to start filling u guys in on some details!! *Zips lips*.” She went on to reveal that her new music will come “after CHEERS becomes #1 .”

The record will have a lot to live up to, following the success of her current album, Loud. Rihanna is set to tour the UK later this year in support of the hit album, with Rihanna tickets available for shows throughout October, November and December.

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way joined Blink-182 on stage on Sunday night, September 11th, during the band’s show at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Michigan.

According to reports, Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge was struggling with illness and asked Way if he would take lead vocals on the track First Date. Footage of the collaboration can be seen below.

Noel Gallagher hoping to end feud with brother Liam

Noel Gallagher has revealed that he hopes that his feud with his brother and ex-band mate Liam comes to an end in the future.

The former Oasis members have not spoken since the band’s split in 2009, and have now gone their separate ways in the music world. Speaking to Grantland, Noel revealed:

“We never hung out together outside of the band, ever. Now, of course, at some point I’m going to have to sit in a f**king room with Liam again. Hopefully time will heal some of these wounds.”

Adele and Tinie Tempah set to collaborate

Tinie Tempah has revealed that he and Adele have been in talks about collaborating in the near future. Both acts missed on the Mercury Music Prize at last night’s awards ceremony, but the UK artists are now hoping to create an award-winning track together.

Speaking to Capital FM, Tinie Tempah revealed when asked about a possible collaboration, “It’s all been talking like, ‘Let’s do it’, ‘Yeah let’s do it’, and I’m just trying to time that,

“Let’s make a plea, let’s make a petition and let’s get this track done.”

The track could feature on the rapper’s second album, which is due to be released early next year. The record was originally expected to be unleashed in late 2011, but due to the upcoming Tinie Tempah tour dates, the release has had to be pushed back.

Tinie Tempah is set to perform UK arena shows throughout October and November.

PJ Harvey wins second Mercury Music Prize

PJ Harvey has become the first person to win the Mercury Prize on two occasions, with her album Let England Shake.

The singer was the clear favourite going into last night’s ceremony, after previously winning the award back in 2001. Harvey beat the likes of Adele, Tinie Tempah, Katy B, James Blake and Elbow to the prize, regarded as one of the highest honours in the music industry.

On accepting the award, she stated “It’s really good to be here this evening, because when I last won 10 years ago I was in Washington DC watching the Pentagon burning from my hotel window.

“So much has happened since then. This album took me a long time to write. It was very important to me. I wanted to make something meaningful, not just for myself but for other people, and hopefully to make something that would last.”

PJ Harvey tickets are available for the singer’s two shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October. With any support acts yet to be confirmed, the singer is expected to produce a similar setlist to that of her recent UK shows:

Mercury Music Prize winner to be announced tonight

The ceremony for this year’s Mercury Music Prize will take place tonight at London’s Grosvenor Hotel, with previous winner PJ Harvey still clear favourite to beat off competition from the likes of Adele and James Blake.

The event is to be hosted by Jools Holland, and for the first time ever viewers will see all of the nominees perform live at the ceremony. The full list of nominations for this year’s Mercury Music Prize is as follows:

PJ Harvey will follow tonight’s event with two back-to-back performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October. PJ Harvey tickets are on sale now.

Gallows to start work on new EP

Gallows this week released their first single with their new front man Wade MacNeil.

True Colours was posted earlier this week and now it appears that more music will soon be surfacing from the rockers. Drummer Lee Barratt tweeted today, “First day of writing for the new Gallows.html EP. My sticks are already covered in blood and pus. It’s pretty gross that the blisters on pretty much all my fingers are still leaking fluids [too].”

The band will soon be making a new album too with MacNeil and fans are very excited to see which direction the band will head in next.

Gallows do not have any tours planned, however fans are hopeful that they will announce a new tour soon.

Manic Street Preachers and Gruff Rhys nominated for Welsh Music Prize

Manic Street Preachers and Gruff Rhys are leading the way on the shortlist for the inaugural Welsh Music Prize.

The shortlist encompasses a wide variety of genres and is a celebration of Welsh music over the past twelve months. Acts who were also on the shortlist of 12 artists include Joy Formidable, Funeral For A Friend and The Blackout.

The winner of the coveted music prize will be announced in Cardiff this October. Gruff Rhys will also be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK this Autumn.

Jay-Z to start work on new record

Jay-Z has revealed today that he has already started preliminary work on his new record and follow up to the Blueprint 3.

Jay-Z has just released Watch The Throne, which was a collaborative album with Kanye West, but now it appears that a new Jay-Z album could be soon around the corner. Producer No I.D told Billboard magazine,

“He (Jay-Z) played me a couple of things. I gave him some music while we were at the’Watch The Throne’ sessions. But with Jay, you never know what he’s really doing, thinking, planning until it’s really done. I’m sure he’ll make a decision one day to make an album very quickly, like he usually does.”

Jay-Z will be touring the US this Autumn with Kanye on the Watch The Throne tour.
