Fans were spotted queuing outside the Echo Arena 24 hours before tickets were due to be released, with the homecoming show proving extremely popular. The gig will be the final show of the 11-date December tour.

The Beatles legend will perform at London’s O2 Arena on the 5th December, Manchester MEN Arena on the 19th December and Liverpool Echo Arena on the 20th December.

The Liverpool show will conclude the run of European shows, on exactly a year to the day since he played an intimate show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy late last year.

The annual event will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View from October 22nd to 23rd, with the proceeds from the shows being donated to the Bridge School, a school that supports children with severe physical impairments and debilitating communication needs. The school was founded by Young and his wife.

Other acts confirmed to play include Tony Bennett, Beck and Carlos Santana. Previous years have seen the likes of Paul McCartney, Elton John, Metallica and David Bowie perform.

Bridge School Benefit concert tickets are set to go on sale Friday 9th September.

The ballet is entitled Ocean’s Kingdom and will be released as an album via Decca who are the label who famously turned down The Beatles in the 60s. The ballet will premier in New York next month and fans are very excited to see the music that the former Beatles man has written for it.

Paul McCartney also played a series of shows in America this Summer and although he doesn’t have any forthcoming dates confirmed, fans are hopeful he will tour again soon.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Led Zeppelin, The Beatles (Paul McCartney with Ringo Star) and The Rolling Stones have all been linked to perform at the opening ceremony, but now it appears it may be just left to McCartney.

McCartney had previously hinted about performing at the ceremony and he certainly hasn’t dispelled the rumours that claim he will be the one to open up the games in 2012.

The documentary, entitled the Love We Make is set to be another documentary of one of the members of the Beatles and will be out 10th September, one day prior to the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 atrocities.

It was like walking into a cathedral. Forbes’ magazine published their annual “rich list” with U2 landing the number one position.

In hot pursuit were Bon Jovi and Elton John. The magazine ranks the 25 highest earning musicians over the last 12 months world wide.  Michael Buble pipped  Paul McCartney into the top five by a tiny 3 million. Justin Bieber became the youngest and richest kid with a whopping $53 million in the bank.

Buddy Holly would have been 75 years old this September. The singer died tragically in 1959 at the tender age 22. Florence and The Machine have compiled 19 songs covered by varying eclectic  artists from Paul McCartney to Kid Rock and have included their own cover of Buddy’s  ’Not Fade Away’.

The Album is expected to be released near the anniversary of Buddy Hollys birthday in September, the official date is still to be announced.
