The event is due to get underway this Thursday, 8th September, with performances from the likes of Pendulum, Bjork, The Cure, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey and Brian Wilson set top take place across the weekend.

The hit Australian-British dance-punk band revealed the decision whilst playing at V Festival this weekend. Whilst on stage, lead singer Ben Mount said to fans: “We want to thank everyone who has supported Pendulum over the last five years. We’re going to take next year off the make a new album and then we’ll be back in 2013. We look forward to seeing you all then.”

The next album, their fourth, will be the follow-up to hugely successful Immersion, which they have been touring since its May 2012 release. The band will play at London’s South West Four this Sunday, and Bestival in September.

His debut studio album is out in the shops on September 12th and is expected to go straight to the top of the UK charts, but now fans will have the chance to hear it before anyone else. The playback competition will give the winners a private rendition of the new album in its entirety and you can enter via Ed Sheeran’s Twitter.

Highlights of the festival came from Annie Mac, Rusko and Netsky who all played immense sets of drum and bass which set the crowd at Staffordshire into rapturous moshing.

Pendulum headlined the festival on the Friday night and they brought their usual style of rock and heavy beats to the ground.

This year, the annual competition has been given the theme “Rock Stars, Pop Stars and Divas”, and New York disco legends Village People will be on hand to pick a winner. Festival organiser Rob da Bank said, “I can’t think of a more suitable act to judge this year’s Fancy Dress competition than the Village People! They practically invented the genres to put some effort in to wow the cowboy, impress the policeman or win over the Red Indian with your best Rock Star, Pop Star or Diva.”

Village People’s “construction worker” David Hodo said, “Village people dress up in costumes everytime we go on stage. It will be fun to judge other people who get dressed up also. We are so looking forward to being judges at the competition for Bestival 2011.”

Duran Duran were forced to pull out of the festival due to singer Simon Le Bon contracting laryngitis, which also caused them to cancel or reschedule most of their European tour. The band were due to headline The Arena stage, the third biggest stage of the festival.

Last night (June 5th), the official V Festival twitter, @vfestival, posted a message saying: “Duran Duran are no longer playing at V Festival, replacement artist to be announced tomorrow on vfestival.com.” Updates will follow with the revised line-up.

The Icelandic singer is set to play the headline slot on the Sunday night (September 11th) of the weekend. She joins headliners Pendulum (Friday 9th) and The Cure (Saturday 10th).

Latitude Festival arrives in Suffolk on July 15th, for three days of incredible music in one of the most relaxed festivals in the country. The weekend will see headline performances from The National (Friday 15th), Paolo Nutini (Saturday 16th) and Suede (Sunday 17th). The band perform their 1990 LP in full at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on September the 8th, as the latest gig presented by All Tomorrow’s Parties/Don’t Look Back. The album was conceived during the so called ‘golden age of hip hop’, preceding the legal limits and clearance costs later placed on sampling.

Public Enemy toured their 1988 release It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back across the world as part of the Don’t Look Back series in 2008.

More than seven hours of Bestival will be broadcast in September with performances from Pendulum, The Cure, Primal Scream and Public Enemy.

Organiser and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank said: “Bestival in 3D will be a mind-blowing explosion of colour and multidimensional music and mayhem. Having Camp Bestival too… means we’ve got a great summer of TV ahead.”

Two hours of action will be shown in 3D on each day of the festival, which takes place between 8-11 September at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, aka Underworld, are well known for their unique sound which has been widely acclaimed in both commercial and underground domains for over 20 years. ‘Born Slippy’ is arguably their biggest hit, used to stunning effect in the film ‘Trainspotting’.

The festival, taking place in Clapham Common on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of August, also features Pendulum.

Alice Cooper has also been confirmed for the festival taking place at Donington Park from 10th to 12th June, along with Korn, Danzig, The Cult, GWAR, Masters Of Reality, Black Veil Brides, The Damned Things, Escape The Fate, Hollywood Undead and Rise To Remain.

The Australian band, who have had hits with “Tarantula” and “Slam” from the album “Hold Your Colour”, have brought drum and bass into the mainstream with their unique sound that is a a fusion of DnB, rock and electro.

This year’s festival took place last weekend and featured headline performances from Guns N Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink 182 as well as appearances across the weekend from the likes of The Libertines, Biffy Clyro, Pendulum, Klaxons, Paramore and Limp Bizkit.

Although the line-up will not be announced until next year, the festival is again set to be a massive hit with fans.

Pendulum will kick of the tour at Birmingham NIA on Thursday 2nd December and will stop off at Wembley Arena, Nottingham Trent FM Arena, Bournemouth International Centre and Manchester Central before bringing the tour to a close at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on Thursday 9th December.

Hadouken! have been confirmed as the Pendulum support act throughout the entire tour.

Tiesto tickets start trading at £37, and all available tickets are general admission, granting the holder to access to all available stages, including the Mixmag and Don’t Stay In Arena. This is the second year Tiesto will perform the huge outdoor show at Victoria Park, on the back of the success of last year’s event.

Pedulum released their third album, Immersion, this year and recently supported The Prodigy at their headline show at Milton Keynes National Bowl.

Pendulum tickets are to go on sale this Friday, 30th July. Hadouken! have been confirmed as the Pendulum support act for the duration of the tour.

The Prodigy were recently crowned as ‘The Most Influential Dance Act of All Time’ by Global Gathering and have sold over a million copies of their latest album, Invaders Must Die.

Although officially sold out from primary ticket vendors, The Prodigy tickets are still available from trusted fan-to-fan ticket exchange websites such as Viagogo, Setwave and GetMeIn with prices starting at £59.

The electronic trio have sold over 20million albums since forming in the early 1990′s and recently performed a hit-filled set at Scotland’s T In The Park Festival.

The band’s next outing will be a huge headline performance at Milton Keynes National Bowl, where they will be supported by Pendulum. The Prodigy tickets are currently trading from £60 each on ticket exchange websites Viagogo, Seatwave and GetMeIn.

It is still unknown whether the story is true, but the news has come as a relief to music fans across the world who had reason to believe that Tiesto was seriously injured. This morning’s Twitter post read, “It’s nice to read that people care about my life. Thank you for all the support. It’s good to be alive and to get so much love from you xx.”

In a seperate statement Tiesto said, “I don’t know where these stories come from, but I’m very much alive and well and looking forward to the rest of my tour, including the second Victoria Park takeover in London.”

Tiesto will perform at Victoria Park on the 30th July as part of one of the biggest dance events of the year. He will be joined by very special guests Pendulum, DJ royalty Eddie Halliwell headlining the Mixmag & Don’t Stay In Arena, South Central and The Japanese Popstars.

Tiesto tickets are available from ticketing sites such as Seetickets, Ticketweb, Ticketline and Gigantic with prices starting at £39.

The cheapest Reading Festival weekend tickets are listed on Seatwave, and are priced at £227. There are currently 104 Leeds weekend tickets available below that price.

The Reading and Leeds Festival takes place from Friday 27th August to Sunday 29th August and will host headline acts such as Arcade Fire, Guns N’ Roses and Blink 182. There will also be appearances across the weekend from the likes of The Libertines, Biffy Clyro, Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum, Cypress Hill, Limp Bizkit, Klaxons, We Are Scientists and The Cribs.

It has also been confirmed that Tiesto is set to be supported by Pendulum and that the gig is likely to feature sound and visuals used in the DJ’s recent world-famous Kaleidoscope tour.
