US singer Katy Perry said she was originally offered the chance to step in, but could not accept the role due to her touring commitments.

Speaking to the Evening Express, the singer said, “I would have loved to but I just didn’t have time. I might have felt out of the loop as the show is not at the beginning.”

Louis Walsh then stated, “I’ve been doing this show for eight years and this is what it’s all about – finding someone who deserves a break, and you deserve a break because you’ve got talent.”

Jade has automatically become one of the favourites to make the finals of this year’s competition, and will be widely expected to take part in the 2012 X Factor Live Tour.

Louis Walsh will once more deal with the over 28s, which has often been the most inconsistent group and of course gave him such talent as Wanger last year. Gary Barlow meanwhile will be in charge of the boys and Kelly Rowland has been given the girls. That only leaves Tulisa Contostavlos who is left with the challenging task of leading the groups. This may however suit her as her career with N-Dubz may stand her in good stead for the role.

Forever Is Over is taken from the second studio album called Wordshaker by the girl group The Saturdays, but singer Mollie King has revealed that the song was originally written for the American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

The song was written by James Bourne, the former member of boy band Busted, and Mollie King recalls how the song fell out of Kelly Clarkson’s hands and into theirs.

She said the first time the girls heard the song was at The Saturdays’ record company offices whilst James Bourne was talking to the head of the record label.

The Saturdays entered the office and openly said they wanted to record it, and despite being informed the song was intended for Kelly Clarkson, James Bourne gave the song to the girls instead.

However, it seems Kelly Clarkson is doing fine despite missing out on the song, as she recently performed her own unique and exclusive cover song whilst on tour for the album All I Ever Wanted in the US.

Kings of Leon play a series of massive shows at the London O2 Arena and the Manchester Evening News Arena in June. Kings of Leon tickets are available from £90.The Prodigy are on tour next month and there are still hundreds of Prodigy tickets available. The 2009 Prodigy tour kicks off at Cardiff international Arena on April 5 before calling at the Glasgow SECC (April 7), Manchester MEN Arena (April 10), Sheffield Hallam FM Arena (April 13) and Brighton Centre (April 14). The Prodigy tour comes to a close with two shows at London Wembley Arena on April 16 and 17. Prodigy tickets are available from £25. The eagerly awaited Take That tour kicks off at the Sunderland Stadium of Light on June 5 before visiting Coventry Ricoh Arena, Cardiff Millennium Stadium, Glasgow Hampden Park and Lancashire County Cricket Ground. The Take That tour comes to a close with four nights at London Wembley Stadium. Hundreds of Take That tickets are still available to compare from just £50.The Lily Allen tour starts at the Glasgow O2 Academy on March 14. The Lily Allen also visits Bristol O2 Academy (March 18), Brighton Dome (March 20) and Birmingham O2 Academy (March 23). The Lily Allen tour comes to a close in London Where Lily Allen will play three shows at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. Lily Allen tickets are still available from £33.

As well as topping this week’s official album chart, U2 have recently revealed that they will be visiting the UK on their massive 2009 world tour. U2 make four stops on their forthcoming tour, calling at London Wembley Stadium (August 14), Glasgow Hampden Park (August 18), Don Valley Stadium (August 20) and Cardiff Millennium Stadium (August 22). U2 tickets are expected to go on sale soon and will be available to compare at Tixdaq.com.

Martin Johnson has opted to change England’s fly-half for the seventh time in 10 matches as Toby Flood has been nominated to take control for the Six Nations trip to face Ireland at Croke Park on Saturday.

As expected, Toby Flood, who had impressed from the bench in the 23-15 defeat to Wales in Cardiff, replaces Andy Goode, who failed to cement his place having started England’s first two games in the championship.

Goode has been included on the bench along with scrum-half Danny Care, who has returned to the squad in place of Paul Hodgson after recovering from an ankle ligament strain.

Toby Flood, last started in the position for England in the heavy defeat to New Zealand at Twickenham last November. In the last 12 months alone, the No 10 shirt has been passed between Jonny Wilkinson, Flood, Goode, Danny Cipriani and Charlie Hodgson.

Meanwhile Ireland who are preparing to face England at Croke Park for the first time since the historic 43-13 victory two years ago have named an unchanged starting XV for the third week in a row.

The sole change from the matches against France and Italy sees Malcolm O’Kelly, who did not make it into the expanded 36-man squad named before this game, replaced in the substitutes by Munster lock and back-row forward Mick O’Driscoll.

Saturday’s match will see out-half Ronan O’Gara win his 90th cap and in doing so he will join O’Kelly, John Hayes and O’Driscoll as the only players to have won over 90 caps for Ireland.
