Thom Yorke and the band released a statement on their website which reads, “Hi there, we are happy to announce the first part of some live shows we will be doing next year, more to follow.”

A Radiohead UK tour announcement is expected shortly, following the release of the US dates.

Speaking to 6Music, guitarist Ed O’Brien assured fans that a tour would take place, whilst also revealing details about the shows. “We’re finalising dates now. We’ll be on the road from the end of February to November and we’ll be playing in both the UK and US, the usual ports of call.”

O’Brien also stated that the performances will be focussed around the group’s latest album, King Of Limbs. “It has to be a set in itself, last time we went out it was ‘In Rainbows’ and a greatest hits. It’s not going to be like that this time. It’s going to be predominately from this record and the last one and then we’ll see which songs fit around that.”

Tickets for 2012 Radiohead tour dates are likely to go on sale in the new year.

Appearing on Giles Peterson’s show on BBC Radio 1 last night, Yorke said, “The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year.”

The musician also revealed that he is working on a new album as part of his super-band Atoms For Peace alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.

Radiohead have only played one gig this year since the release of their new album The King Of Limbs – a secret show at Glastonbury Festival.

British singer Adele leads the way with three nominations in total, including Best Female Artists. The news comes as the September Adele tour resumed this week, following the singer’s illness.

Ed O’Brien spoke with Argentian website Al Tantun last week and he revealed that the band are currently booking tour dates for 2012. He also told the website that he is currently working on solo material. The full interview will be available soon via the Al Tantun website but the news that the band are planning a 2012 tour will delight fans.

The band did play a surprise set at Glastonbury earlier this Summer and will be appearing on an American talk show next month.

Currently the internet is alive with rumours that Radiohead will announce a new tour and the Basement session, as well as their American  talk show appearance next month, both seem to suggest a tour will come sooner rather than later.

The show is hosted by Alec Baldwin and will see a return of Radiohead who previously played there in support of the release of their Kid A record in 2000. The fact they are now playing it again indicates to many that they will be bringing their live show back to fans and follow up The King of Limbs release with a global tour.

Their eighth album, The King Of Limbs, was released in February, and since then they have released a series of EPs, each featuring remixes of songs from the album. The latest EP is the fourth, and features the songs Codex, Little By Little and Give Up The Ghost.

As reported recently on Fanatix, Radiohead are strongly rumoured to release a double album in September containing the full series of remixes. They are also reported to be touring soon after, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

The news of the new remix album comes after there are strong rumours the band are planning a new tour.

He commented, “I’ve always thought most bands should play Oasis songs, anyway. The Foo Fighters should definitely do a couple. Green Day could do even more than one or two. Radiohead? I mean, let’s face it. It’d be a better night out.”

The news may shock die hard Oasis fans, who may feel aggrieved to hear that Noel is encouraging a lot of other acts to go back and play Oasis classics. These fans however should take heart from the fact that at a previous interview Noel stated that he definitely would play Oasis songs on his forthcoming tour of the UK.

Noel Gallagher will play Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo this October.

This is not the first time which the Radiohead frontman has teamed up with other groups, in 2010 Thom appeared on Flying Lotus’s critically acclaimed album Cosmogramma.

The remixes will be the third set from The King of Limbs and will be out as an EP tomorrow (August 1st). Rumours are currently surrounding the band as to if they will announce a new tour following their surprise performance at Glastonbury’s Park Stage.

During the interview, Selway (Radiohead drummer) responded to questions about further Radiohead shows with, “Oh yeah, absolutely. That’s what we’re talking about at the moment. And hopefully we’ll have some plans to talk about at some point.”

He went on to comment about the surprise set at Glastonbury’s Park Stage. “It felt exciting doing that, we had something different to offer musically on top of what we done in the past. It just felt like a new lease of life in what we are doing, and we would like to see where that takes us.”

Selway’s comments will surely give more hope to Radiohead fans eagerly waiting for a new tour as the band’s last UK appearance, prior to Glastonbury, came with their Reading and Leeds shows in 2008.

Previously the band have produced two vinyls from their most recent album The King of Limbs, with a third coming out in early August. The vinyls featured remixes by the likes of Caribou, Four Tet and Jacques Greene.

Selway’s other interest Radiohead are yet to announce details of a forthcoming tour, although fans are hopeful that information will be released soon.

The band have previously been nominated for numerous Mercury music prizes, but have never won, and this according to Selway wasn’t too much of a shock for the band.

The NME reported that Selway has said, “It would sound churlish to say we don’t care, but when we were putting out ‘Kings Of Limbs’ we knew it probably wasn’t our most immediate record.”

“It was important for us to make that record in that way but it wasn’t put out with a view to getting Mercury nomination. So not being nominated isn’t a huge disappointment really.”

Fans are still hoping that Radiohead will announce a tour in the immediate future.

The Oxford born, world conquering band have already released a vinyl with remixes of Little By Little (Caribiou remix) and Lotus Flower (Jacques Greene remix). Following this, the band are set to release a second vinyl from the new record which includes Bloom (Mark Pritchard remix), which comes out tomorrow (July 15th).

Now, on top of these Radiohead goodies, the band are going to release another vinyl which will feature Feral (Lone remix), Morning Mr Magpie (Pearson Sound Scavenger remix) and Separator (Four Tet remix). The latest vinyl will be released by the band in two weeks time.

The Radiohead announcement comes just days after the band’s drummer Phil Selway announced the release of a new solo EP entitled Running Blind which will be out on the 25th July.

Fans are very hopeful that Radiohead will be announcing details of a forthcoming tour very soon.

The hip-hop artist from New Orleans has shocked the interwb today by tweeting, “ps, dear England, i have a show with Radiohead in Manchester next month. stop by. it will be amazing.”

The tweet was later removed but it does add hope to those Radiohead fans who are desperately hoping for the Oxford band to announce details of a new tour. Thom Yorke previously posted Exhibit C by Jay Electronica in one of his now infamous office charts last year, demonstrating that the two have some contact, even if it is just mutual admiration.

Radiohead’s long term producer Nigel Godrich presented a series of shows entitled From The Basement, and now his partners in crime Radiohead have recorded two shows from ‘The Basement’. The first being In Rainbows in 2008 and now they have followed it up with a sublime rendition of The King of Limbs, see video below.

The video is practically note perfect, and gives viewers an amazing insight into the visual aspect of their music within the studio and the complexities of it all. The record flourishes within the performance and is brought out with a new aura of ambition and confidence, a true testament to the brilliance of The King of Limbs.

The question is what does this mean for the future of Radiohead? Well the post comes just days after their surprise set at Glastonbury and demonstrates that they are playing the new album together. Also, given the previous structure of the release of the last album, with the In The Basement performance preceding a global tour, the video gives us strong suspicions that they are indeed preparing to go on tour.

The set at Glastonbury was full of self evident nerves, Thom Yorke declaring at the offset that he was incredibly nervous. This anxiety was demonstrated as the opener Lotus Flower broke down in the middle, and for those of you who are aware of the band, they very rarely make mistakes. However, this performance of The King of Limbs from In The Basement was not the rough and ready set which was performed at the Park Stage at Glastonbury, but rather it is an exquisite piece of music which shows off The King of Limbs for all its worth. The band seem to be extremely comfortable now playing the new record, even if it is on home soil, and surely it won’t be long before they are comfortable enough to tour with it.

So it seems fairly evident that news of a Radiohead tour should come right around the corner.

The internet is currently a web of rumours and tweets which all suggest that Noel will play a surprise acoustic performance at this weekend’s T in the Park. Noel is fresh out of a press conference today (July 6th) in which he announced details of the release of High Flying Birds. Certain sites hoped that the press conference would also reveal plans to play the upcoming Scottish festival but he did not confirm this today.

That being said, it seems as though bands these days, especially of the older generation, are not shying away from guest festival appearances. It is also clear that Noel has a love for T in the Park. The Oasis gig there in 1994 is reported to be one of Noel’s favourite ever Oasis gigs and he has played a surprise performance there before in 2008 when he came on stage with Paul Weller.

At the moment his appearance at T in the Park is very much just internet based conjecture, but fans still remain hopeful that Noel will play.

He has written the follow-up to his 2009 album Swords, but says it won’t be released until he has a record deal. He refuses to release it himself like Radiohead did with 2007 album In Rainbows, telling Pitchfork, “I don’t have any need to be innovative in that way. I am still stuck in the dream of an album that sells well not because of marketing but because people like the songs. Once is becomes public that you aren’t signed, you assume that anyone who wants you will come get you.”

Morrissey attributes his establishment as one of the reasons he isn’t signed: “I think labels for the most part want to sign new discoveries so that that label alone is seen to be responsible for the rise of the artist. Not many labels want bands who have already made their mark, because their success is usually attributed to some other label somewhere else at another time.”

Morrissey headlines Hop Farm Festival on July 2nd and is also touring the UK through July.

The running order of the festival lists “Special guests” as appearing on The Park Stage at 8pm, and rumours had been circulating ever since The Sun printed a story claiming Radiohead were the unannounced band. The Oxfordshire greats today had their performance confirmed by their spokesman. It will be their first performance at the festival since 2003, although singer Thom Yorke and guitarist Johnny Greenwood made an appearance on The Park Stage last year. Radiohead’s 1997 headline performance is often voted the greatest ever at the festival.

Radiohead will be playing at the same time as Morrissey on the Pyramid Stage, Fleet Foxes and Mumford & Sons on The Other Stage, and The Coral and Example on The John Peel Stage.

Currently, the 8pm slot on The Park Stage is listed as “Special Guests”, and The Sun are reporting that Radiohead are the band filling it. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist Johnny Greenwood appeared unannounced last year to mark the 40th Anniversary of the festival, again playing The Park Stage. Radiohead’s last official appearance at Glastonbury was in 2003, and that set and their 1997 headline set have been described as two of the best ever seen at the festival.

However, festival officials have yet to endorse any rumour. A spokesman said today that the secret act was still “unconfirmed”, while earlier in the week organiser Emily Eavis told NME, “We are still unsure of exactly who is turning up, mainly because it’s unconfirmed at the moment. I swear I have heard every rumour – even that Led Zeppelin are playing.”

Glastonbury kicked off in full today, with revellers in high spirits despite the vast amounts of mud covering the festival site. Tonight U2 headline the Pyramid stage, but face a protest as audience-members, frustrated at the band’s alleged tax avoidance, plan to float a huge bundle of fake cash across the crowd.

Organiser Michael Eavis told The Sun that he approached Morrissey after West had already turned the position down. Eavis said: “We were hoping to get Kanye West but he’s doing other stuff so we gave Morrissey a ring. He wasn’t bothered last time we asked him but he was very keen this year. It was a last-minute thing and tickets had already been sold before anyone knew anything about him so it was a nice little extra for us. I just hope he enjoys it as you never expect him to be wildly happy do you?”

Morrissey will appear before headliners U2 on the Pyramid Stage tonight (June 24th). Meanwhile, Radiohead are to play a surprise set on The Park Stage at 8pm.

The band have recorded  ’Radiohead- The King of Limbs: Live From The Basement’ programme for BBC which airs on the 1st of July. It is the first time the band have performed any of their new material from the latest album ‘ The King Of Limbs’  live.

During the live recording they previewed the song ‘Staircase’ which is believed to have been created and recorded during the new album’s sessions, although not included on the album.

The programme also includes another surprise with appearances from Clive Deamer – Radiohead’s drummer Philip Selway described him as ‘one of my favourite drummers’, clearly a treat for both the band and the fans.

Radiohead tickets and tour dates are expected to be announced later this year.

The record – Spears’s seventh in total – sold 276,000 copies to top the tally, fending off competition from Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers, which shifted 197,000 units at number two.

The feat ties her with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson for the third-most number one albums for a female artist, behind Barbra Streisand and Madonna.

However, the sales figure marks the singer’s second-lowest opening-week sales to date, ahead of her debut …Baby One More Time, which entered with sales of 121,000.

Elsewere, Adele’s 21 remains at number three, Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E dips from one to four, and charity record Songs For Japan completes the top five.

Other new entries arrived from Radiohead, who released the physical edition of latest effort The King Of Limbs, which enters at six; Snoop Dogg’s Doggumentary at eight, and Mary Mary’s Something Big at ten.

The Truck Festival is set to take place at Hill Farm in Steventon, Oxfordshire, between July 22nd and 24th.

This year’s festival is teaming up with record labels Transgressive, Bella Union and Heavenly as part of a partnership for the second stage.

Selway is set to perform a solo show on the Sunday during Bella Union’s turn in charge of the stage, while Coxon will appear on the Friday as part of Transgressive’s takeover.

Selway’s Radiohead recently released their eight studio album The King Of Limbs without any build-up or promotion. A special ‘newspaper’ version of the record is set to go on sale on May 9.

Coxon, meanwhile, recently confirmed his new collaboration with Paloma Faith and former Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones for Converse will be released on Tuesday.

Despite slipping to number two in the singles chart, Tottenham’s Adele is still reigning supreme in the album chart with 21, which will see her break records she has currently matched with Madonna and The Beatles if she can hang on until Sunday – 10 consecutive weeeks occupying top spot.

The physical release of Radiohead’s The King Of Limbs sees the LP rise to number two, while Britney Spears’s seventh studio album Femme Fatale enters at four.

The Strokes have seen a heavy fall, losing ten places and currently sitting at 13.

The National, Paolo Nutini and Suede will headline the festival which will also include Foals, Bright Eyes, comedian Dave Gorman and a Q&A with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.

The sixth edition of the festival will once again take place at Henham Park, near Southwold from July 14-17, and will feature a mix of music and arts performers.

A fourth headline act, who has not been confirmed, will perform on the main stage at midday on the final day of the festival. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has previously performed in the slot, with revellers leaving their tent earlier that usual to catch his acoustic set of Radiohead and solo numbers.

Adele’s ’21′ has sold some 42,500 copies so far this week according to OCC sales flashes,which is more than twice the amount of nearest competitor, Radiohead’s ‘King of Limbs’.

‘King of Limbs’ has been available on the band’s website for a month, but this is the first week it has been available in stores.

Britney Spears’ latest offering, ‘Femme Fatale, is currently third ahead of Adele’s first album, ’19′.

Radiohead released their new LP The King of Limbs as a download in February, with the physical release available in shops yesterday. They will also be releasing a ‘newspaper edition’ featuring either the MP3s or WAVs together with 2×10″ vinyl, a CD and 625 pieces of artwork packaged in a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic on May 9.

Simons responded to a tweet by writer Sophie Heawood, who wrote: “Am starting to wonder if there’s any other band as in love with their own lovedness as the current incarnation of Radiohead.”

He replied: “the bends was just ok, not listened to much after that, are they any good? (sic)”

In response to a question about their latest release, he said: “not being bad, but it all just sounds like nonsense to me, it is possible I am wrong on this, but newspaper records, who cares.”

Fans flocked to Rough Trade in East London yesterday to be handed copies of Radiohead’s free newspaper ‘The Universal Sigh’ by the bands’ singer Thom Yorke. A huge queue of people formed hours before the midday opening time.

He continued: “I have no interest in Radiohead, not their music or their obsession with marketing. by our grace, us multi millionaires are going to give our record away for free, forget all the musicians trying to catch a break.”

He went on to say: “the cocteau twins didn’t wrap up their albums in newspapers or whatever it is. the zombies didn’t sit around plotting their digital strategy.”

Ed Simons may not be a fan of Radiohead’s tactics, but their millions of fans worldwide lap it up. One fan in the queue for the paper yesterday said “When Radiohead ask you to jump – you jump.”

The album name was inspired by a thousand year old tree in Wiltshire’s Savernake Forest, and the album itself contains songs with references to trees.

The former Oasis man told the Queitus, “I like to think that what we do, we do f*cking well. Them writing a song about a f*cking tree? Give me a f*cking break! A thousand year old tree? Go f*ck yourself!”

Gallagher then added: “You’d have thought he’d have written a song about a modern tree or one that was planted last week. You know what I mean?”

The original video, which shows Yorke dancing along with the track, has been mixed with footage including Beyonce, Black Swan and Guns n’ Roses. But the latest ‘mash up’ is sure to attract plenty of attention, using footage of Bieber being shot from his recent appearance on CSI.

The festival has grown in popularity since starting out in 2006 and has attracted some of the biggest acts in music. Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Pearl Jam headlined this year’s festival, along with performances from the likes of The Hives, Wolfmother, The Gaslight Anthem and Ben Harper.

Hard Rock Calling 2011 will take place from 24th to 26th June at Hyde Park, London and is yet again expected to include some huge names.

Speculation is strong that U2 will fill one of the headline slots after being unable to perform at last year’s event. Kylie Minogue is another name set to be confirmed, with acts such as Beyoncé, Coldplay, Madonna, Prince and Radiohead also being discussed.

Many were left disappointed to miss out on their Glastonbury tickets, but will be given another opportunity when the second release is announced in the coming months.

The Canadian collective have recently released third album The Suburbs to considerable critical acclaim, and the LP went straight to number one in the UK album charts.

Muse have gained an enormous following since taking the British music scene by storm in the late 1990′s and have produced hits such as Plug In Baby, Bliss, Time Is Running Out and Hysteria.

Whilst no acts have been officially confirmed by Glastonbury Festival’s organiser, Michael Eavis, a number of top artists are rumoured to be headlining next year’s bill. It is rumoured that David Grohl’s new band, Them Crooked Vultures, are set to perform before the Arctic Monkeys this evening.

The Arctic Monkeys are playing a special gig at London Brixton Academy that is only open to members of their fan club. Alex Turner and his band mates are set to showcase material from the latest Arctic Monkeys album entitled Humbug which was released this week.

Rumours are currently circulating online suggesting Them Crooked Vultuers will be performing in the support slot. Them Crooked Vultures is the latest prjoect of Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl. The band also features Josh Homme of Queens of the Stonage as well as Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones.

Earlier this month, a statement on the official website for the Reading and Leeds Festival announced that flags were not allowed to be brought into the main arena, in order to allow ticket holders the best possible view.

Some have opposed the ban, claiming that the wave of colours was a main feature of the festivals, and that the flags had some practical implications such as being used as a meeting point in the sea of people. However, others may be thrilled with the flag ban, especially those who have had their views obstructed by flags in the past.

Now it seems Glastonbury may implement the flag ban next year after conversations were held between Michael Eavis, the Glastonbury festival chief, and Melvin Benn, the head of Festival Republic.

Melvin Benn, who runs the Reading and Leeds Festivals and also helps to organise Glastonbury, reflected on this year’s Glastonbury festival, which was held in June, and claimed that there was poor visibility of the acts on stage because of the number of flags.

Melvin Benn continued to say that there had always been flags at festivals but not to the extent as now, where flags had become very long and tall and there were more flags now than ever before.

For now, no official decision on a flag ban at Glastonbury has been made, and despite some protests against the flag ban at the Reading and Leeds Festival 2009, event organisers have failed to respond.

Despite the summer months coming to an end marking the end of the festival season, there are still plenty of festivals to look forward to in the UK.

Of course, the Reading and Leeds Festival is still to come, taking place at Reading Richfield Avenue and Leeds Bramham Park from August 28-30, headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and Kings of Leon.

However if dance is more your taste in music, you can check out Creamfields 2009 which takes place at the Halston Daresbury Estate from August 29-30 where you can catch Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris in action.

Get Loaded In The Park is one of the last of the biggest festivals that take place in the capital, and is happening at London Clapham Common on August 30, featuring Orbital, Royksopp, VV Brown, and a DJ set from Pendulum.

Bestival 2009 is one of the last festivals to feature some chart-toppping acts such as Elbow, Massive Attack, Lily Allen, Florence and the Machine, and Little Boots. Bestival 2009 is taking place at the Isle of Wight Robin Hill Adventure Park from September 11-13.

The Arctic Monkeys have revealed that the gig will only be open to fan club members.  Fans of the Arctic Monkeys have until midnight tomorrow (August 19) to register for tickets on the band’s official site ArcticMonkeys.com.  Fans will be selected at random and invited to purchase tickets.

Kings Of Leon are scheduled to play the Reading & Leeds Festival, despite Caleb Followill feeling under pressure from the constant touring

Caleb Followill from Kings Of Leon will be hoping for a break from touring soon as he recently admitted feeling overloaded with work.

He felt so much pressure during the Kings Of Leon performance at T In The Park earlier this month that he smashed his guitar.

Caleb Followill later explained that he does not have anything to complain about with regards to their hectic work schedule.

He would never dream of damaging his guitar, but smashing it was a way of relieving some of his anger and that he takes it as a sign to say that he needs a break.

For now though, a break from touring is not happening anytime soon as the band gear up for another UK festival appearance.

Kings Of Leon are scheduled to play at the Reading & Leeds Festival, which takes place at Reading Richfield Avenue and Leeds Bramham Park over the weekend of August 28-30.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the Reading Festival was going to get louder and bigger in years to come.

The local council will allow an increase in capacity from 78,500 to 82,000 and then an increase of up to 85,000 in 2011. The Reading Festival will also have their maximum noise level increased from 98 decibels to 107 decibels.

The latest acts confirmed for the Reading & Leeds Festival line-up are Kids in Glass Houses and Middleman.

Thom Yorke of Radiohead will perform a special solo set at Latitude Festival

New acts have been announced to join the line up of the Latitude Festival and the End of the Road Festival.

Added to the line up of the Latitude Festival are Of Montreal, Maps, Lykke Li, Fever Ray, Sky Larkin and St Vincent.

Thom Yorke from Radiohead will also perform a special solo set.

The headline acts for the Latitude Festival are Pet Shop Boys, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Grace Jones.

Added to the line up of the End of the Road Festival are The Horrors, Brakes, Loney Dear, Vetiver, Blitzen Trapper, The Duke and The King, Shearwater and Wye Oke.

The headline acts already confirmed for the End of the Road Festival are Explosions in the Sky and Fleet Foxes.

The Latitude Festival will be at the Southwold Henham Park taking place from July 16-19.

The End of the Road Festival is taking place at the Salisbury Larmer Tree Gardens from September 11-13.
