Roger Waters dispels reunion rumours

Pink Floyd bass player and co-lead vocalist Roger Waters has moved to dispel rumours of a Pink Floyd reunion after a series of live appearances with Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour. Despite playing with his old bandmate at a Hope Foundation Benefit Concert, and with some upcoming onstage performances with Gilmour in his ‘The Wall’ tour, Waters has said that it does not change anything about future Pink Floyd albums.

His reaction comes after Nick Mason hinted he’d love to perform with his old bandmates again, and that you should never say never to another reunion performance.

Waters has confirmed that Gilmour will be on stage with him for one show of the European leg and said he is looking forward to performing with his old band member again. He is also excited about bringing The Wall tour to the UK in May for a series of concerts at London’s O2, Manchester’s MEN Arena and one night in Birmingham.

Pink Floyd drummer hints at reunion

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has hinted that the band could in line for a reunion. Mason told BBC 6 Music, “No one has said we will never work (together) again. I think it is very unlikely we are going to go out on tour however I live in hope we would absolutely do another Live 8 or play together for the right reasons.”

Former bandmate Roger Waters is set to perform the group’s classic album, The Wall, in its entirety at a series of UK shows this year.

Roger Waters tickets will go on pre-sale tomorrow at Tixdaq.com for his extra date at the Birmingham NIA on 27th June 2011. Roger Waters was a founding member of prog rock giants Pink Floyd, playing bass and acting as co-vocalist to the band. Pink Floyd have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including the massively influential albums “Dark Side Of The Moon” and “The Wall”. Roger was one of the prime pioneers of the experimental sound techniques used on these concept albums, experimenting with equipment that was relatively new at the time, such as tape loops and synthesisers.

Pink Floyd will go down in history as one of the greatest bands ever to grace the earth, and Roger Waters was the songwriter of some of their best loved songs. Roger Waters has added extra UK tour dates to his live schedule for 2011 – due to extraordinary demand. He will now perform another night at London O2 Arena on May 18th 2011, as well as two further gigs at Manchester Evening News Arena – May 28th and 29th 2011.

The Wall tour takes place throughout May and June 2011, and instead of having a support act Waters will play two sets: the first a selection of Pink Floyd favourites and the second the band’s classic album in full.

More Roger Waters tickets released for concerts live at O2 Arena

Roger Waters is one of the most commercially successful musicians of all time – despite never really conforming to commercial music. His band Pink Floyd were a wonderfully ambitious group of people, and they raised the bar and set magnificently high standards that their contemporaries are still reaching for today. Albums The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon are two of the most acclaimed ever – with the latter the second highest selling album in history.

Waters played Dark Side Of The Moon live to countless fans on a marathon world tour in 2005, and is now doing the same with multiple concerts in support of The Wall. Waters has indicated that he believes it will be his last ever tour, and is determined to go out with a flourish. He will begin the evening with a selection of Pink Floyd favourites before returning for a second set to perform The Wall live in its entirety.

Roger Waters will be performing seven ground-breaking shows here in the UK next year, playing his former band Pink Floyd’s legendary album, The Wall, in it’s entirety at each concert.

Waters will appear at London’s O2 Arena on May 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 17th as well as Manchester MEN Arena on May 20th and 21st.

Roger Waters tickets are still available online and are currently trading from £60. The cheapest Roger Waters tickets are for performances at the O2 Arena on 14th and 15th May and are listed on Ticketline for seats in the upper tier of the arena. The cheapest MEN Arena tickets are priced at £80 from Viagogo.

Roger Waters has extended his upcoming O2 Arena residency by adding two extra dates on May 14th and 15th. The gigs are in addition to the prevously announced shows on May 11th,12th and 17th.

The Pink Floyd star will be performing the band’s legendary album, The Wall, in full at each of the shows.

Roger Waters will also be performing at Manchester MEN Arena on 20th and 21st May, and Dublin O2 Arena on 23rd May.

Roger Waters pre-sale tickets for his May 2011 UK dates are now available, with prices starting at around £60. Roger Waters is set to make five rare UK arena appearances, starting at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday 11th May.

The former Pink Floyd member will then go on to play two more dates at the London venue on Thursday 12th May and Tuesday 17th May before heading north to Manchester MEN Arena for shows on Friday 20th May and Saturday 21st May.
