Iron Maiden rumoured to headline Hard Rock Calling 2011

Iron Maiden have been rumoured to be one of the band’s lined up to headline next year’s Hard Rock Calling festival. The band have confirmed a festival appearance at Roskilde in Denmark at the beginning of July, and it is thought that they will also fill one of the two headline slots still open at London’s Hyde Park in late June.

Bon Jovi were the first band confirmed to perform at next years Hard Rock Calling, and they will perform on Saturday 25th June.

Iron Maiden tickets are available for the band’s show at the Telenor Arena, Oslo on 6th July 2011.

Gorillaz play Glastonbury Pyramid Stage tonight ahead of Roskilde appearance

When U2 were forced to pull out of their headline appearance at Glastonbury due to a serious back problem for singer Bono, Gorillaz stepped up admirably to fill their shoes. Indeed, had frontman Damon Albarn not topped the festival’s bill last year with Blur, it would not be unreasonable to suggest that Gorillaz would be first choice for the festival.

For those of us like U2 and unable to make it to Glastonbury, it might be worth heading to Denmark next weekend. Roskilde Festival takes place between July 1-4 2010, and offers an excellent range of artists on its lineup.

The headline acts are Gorillaz (of course), Danish band Nephew, The Prodigy as well as a rare appearance from innovative American musician Prince, who is sure to play all the best-loved songs from his outstanding career.

Roskilde Festival Tickets are on sale now, but with only weekend tickets still available you’ll have to be quick!

Gorillaz tickets guide: for those not lucky enough to be at Glastonbury

Gorillaz , the virtual group created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, stepped in to fill U2’s headline slot at Glastonbury. The Irish band had been forced out of their appearance because of a back injury to vocalist Bono.

Gorillaz will most certainly put on a tremendous show, but for those not lucky enough to be at Glastonbury, there is still a chance to get Gorillaz tickets.

After another festival slot at Roskilde in Denmark, Albarn and co. will set out on a September UK tour, with live dates pencilled in at Glasgow SECC, Birmingham NIA, Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, London O2 Arena and Dublin O2 Arena.

Gorillaz’ spring dates did not have a support act, but given that recent Gorillaz live performances have included guest appearances from the likes of De La Soul, Mos Def and Kano, that is unlikely to be noticed!

Tickets are still on sale for the face value price of £45 for all the concerts in England and Scotland, with the Dublin date currently trading for €58 from Ticketmaster – which equates to £51.

Them Crooked Vultures live: Tickets available for Brixton Academy

Them Crooked Vultures tickets are now on sale for the band’s one-off performance at Brixton Academy on July 5th. The band announced the gig only a few days ago, in support of a fund set up to assist Eagles of Death Metal bassist Brian O’Connor, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The band will also perform at Roskilde Festival in Denmark next month, but the Brixton Academy show will be the only opportunity for fans to catch them here in the UK.

Them Crooked Vultures is made up of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stoneage and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones.

Pavement announce festival plans

Pavement have revealed that they will headline next the 2010 Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The California band will join Muse on the bill at the massive European festival next summer.

The 2010 Roskilde Festival is set to take place between July 1-4.

Pavement add the festival appearance to a busy 2010 tour diary which includes a number of UK shows. Pavement are set to play at Glasgow Barrowland on May 5 before their 4-date residency at the Brixton O2 Academy (May 10-13).

Tixdaq can reveal that Pavement tickets are available for all of the UK shows taking place next Spring.

Oasis to join Coldplay at Roskilde

Organisers behind the popular Roskilde Festival have recently announced that Oasis will headline this year’s festival. Oasis will join Coldplay as well as Madness and Slipknot at the hugely popular festival.

The Roskilde Festival takes place outside the Danish capital, Copenhagen, between July 2 and 5.

Oasis will also be playing live in the UK this summer. The Oasis tour kicks off with three shows at Heaton Park in Manchester (June 4, 6 &7). Oasis play seven further dates including performances at Sunderland Stadium of Light (June 10), Cardiff Millennium Stadium (June 12), Murrayfield Stadium in Glasgow (June 17) and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena (July 7). The Oasis tour comes to a close in London with four shows at Wembley Stadium (July 9, 11 & 12). Loads of Oasis tickets are still available from £40.

Fellow Roskilde headliners, Coldplay, are also on tour in the UK this year. Following their massively successful arena tour towards the end of 2008, Coldplay will be back on the road in the UK this September. Coldplay have today announced that they will be headlining the hugely popular Roskilde Festival. The Roskilde Festival takes place outside the Danish capital, Copenhagen, between July 2 & 5.

Glasgow SECC (May 8, 9 & 30) and the Liverpool Echo Arena (May 19, June 2 &3) . The mammoth Girls Aloud tour draws to a close when they return to the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on June 6. Hundreds of Girls Aloud tickets are still available with prices starting at £30.
