This year’s Oxegen set times have been revealed online.

On the main stage tonight (Friday 8th July), Stereophonics are playing at 19:05, Jay Z at 20:50 and Arcade Fire are headlining at 23:00.

While over on the Vodafone Stage, Scouting for Girls are on at 19:45, Groove Armada 21:00 and Fatboy Slim at 23:00.

Empire of the Sun are playing at 20:10, Goldfrapp at 21:40 and David Guetta at 23:15 on the Heineken Green Spheres Stage.

Tom Jones opens Picnic Concerts this week

Singing legend Tom Jones will open the English Heritage Picnic Concerts in London this week.

The concerts begin this Friday in the grounds of London’s beautiful Kenwood House. Jones, who has sold over 100 million records, will perform classic songs from his career including Burning Down The House, Sex Bomb and Mama Told Me Not To Come, as well as tracks from his latest album, Praise and Blame. The international favourite will then take his show to the other venue of the concert series, Audley End, Essex, on July 30th.

The English Heritage Picnic Concerts offer the rare opportunity to relax with a picnic at two of Britain’s most stunning country houses, whilst enjoying world-class music. Other artists set to appear at the concert series include The Saturdays, James Blunt, Scouting For Girls, and Jools Holland. Holland, famous for his exciting jazz and blues concerts, said of the event, “My orchestra and I are delighted to return to the English Heritage Picnic Concerts 2011. Having performed at Kenwood House in 2009, I know what an immense pleasure it is to be on stage at such a spectacular event with fantastic live music at one of the most magical settings in Britain and certainly in North London.”

V Festival 2011 line-up: More acts confirmed

A number of new acts have been added to this year’s V Festival line-up. The event is set to take place on August 21st and 22nd in both Chelmsford and Shifnal, and will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys and Eminem, with support from Rihanna and Plan B.

Lostprophets, Good Charlotte, Kids In Glass Houses, The Wanted, Dionne Bromfield, Noisettes, Chipmunk have all been added to the bill, joining the likes of The Script, Dizzy Rascal, Pendulum, Kaiser Chiefs, Duran Duran, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, Razorlight, Chase n Status, Tinie Tempah, The Courteeners, Ellie Goulding, Scouting for Girls, Bruno Mars, Jessie J, The Wombats, Mark Ronson, N-Dubz, Glasvegas, Hurts, Katy B, KT Tunstall, Squeeze, The Saturdays, Example, Olly Murs, Cast, Kele, OCS, You Me at Six, Eliza Doolittle, Fun Lovin Criminals and Imelda May.

Tickets for this year’s V Festival are selling out extremely quickly, having gone at sale at 9am this morning.

Kylie Minogue headlines this weekend’s Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball in aid of the charity Help A London Child.

The Ball, which takes place this weekend at the O2 Arena in London, will feature a host of stars including The Script, Duffy, Cee-Lo Green, Black Eyed Peas, The Wanted, Nicole Scherzinger, Jason Derulo, Olly Murs, Taio Cruz, Alexandra Burke, McFly, Scouting For Girls, JLS, Akon, Tinie Tempah, The Saturdays, The Wanted, Flo Rida, Jay Sean, Example and Labrinth.

This weekend the O2 Arena plays host to Capital FM’s charity event, the Jingle Bell Ball. The event runs for two nights, on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December, and is in aid of the charity Help A London Child. The Midlands Music Festival takes place on the weekend of July 17th – 18th 2010 at Tamworth Castle Pleasure Grounds in Staffordshire, and is a fantastic part of the live music calendar. Each of the two days have a theme: Saturday is called Back To The 80s, while Sunday is labelled The Biggest Chart Acts.

Each features exactly what it says on the tin. Saturday showcases some of the best-loved musicians from the 1980s, such as Billy Ocean and Hot Chocolate, while Sunday features massive modern names such as Westlife and Peter Andre.

Best of all, proceeds from Midlands Music Festival tickets go to a wonderful cause. The charity Just 1 Life aids mothers and babies affected by premature birth across the Midlands, and will benefit hugely thanks to the generosity of these pop stars. This year’s V Festival line-up is arguably it’s best yet, with Kings of Leon and Kasabian headlining two epic days of music.

Joining Kings of Leon on Saturday 21st August at Hylands Park, and Sunday 22nd August at Weston Park will be Stereophonics, Paul Weller, Editors, The Courteeners, Passion Pit, Feeder and David Guetta.

Supporting Kasabian at Weston Park on Saturday 21st August, and Hylands Park on Sunday 22nd August will be Faithless, The Kooks, Paolo Nutini, Madness, Seasick Steve, Skunk Anansie, Pixie Lott and The Prodigy.

Acts also confirmed to appear at both venues across the weekend include Florence and The Machine, Doves, Calvin Harris, White Lies, Jamie T and Scouting for Girls.

Diana Vickers announced as Scouting For Girls support act

Scouting For Girls achieved a first UK number one in April with This Ain’t A Love Song, the first single from their second album Everybody Wants To Be On TV. The London band have just revealed that the support act for their concert at High Lodge in Thetford Forest on July 8th 2010 will be another chart topper: X Factor semi-finalist Diana Vickers.

Diana Vickers reached the top spot with her debut single, Once, just a few weeks later and her album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree followed it to number one in mid-May.

Scouting For Girls tickets are available for all their remaining dates, including the Thetford Forest gig, which will be part of the Forestry Commission Tour and prices begin at £26 from Gigantic.

The Forestry Commission was set up to protect and expand Britain’s most beautiful woodland areas, and other acts supporting the initiative include JLS, Blondie, Katie Melua, The Saturdays, Status Quo, Doves, James Morrison, Keane and Simply Red.

In fact, Forestry Commission Tour tickets are also available for all these acts, with Doves tickets the cheapest at £16 from Ticketmaster subsidiary GetMeIn.

Revenue from the concerts will go towards the regeneration of UK forests.

Scouting For Girls have been firmly stuck in the collective head of the nation for years with their sublimely catchy piano-led pop, and on Sunday they achieved their very first UK number one with the debut single from their new album. This Ain’t A Love Song was released last Monday and shot straight to the top spot, giving the band hope that new LP Everybody Wants To Be On TV will emulate its success.

Scouting For Girls had appealed to their fans to help them get the Easter number one spot, and the campaign looks to have paid off. They will thank their many fans across the country in person with a UK tour, and their energetic live gigs will surely sell fast. Scouting For Girls are to delight masses across the country with another dose of their piano-laden pop in the form of second album Everybody Wants To Be On TV. The LP comes out on April 12th and will be preceded by single This Ain’t A Love Song – out on March 28th. After witnessing the storm to the top of the Christmas charts by Rage Against The Machine thanks to a Facebook campaign, Scouting For Girls are hoping to emulate it for Easter, and are urging their fans to pre-order the single via both their official website and Facebook page! Jason Manford to host ITV comedy show

Award-winning comedian Jason Manford has been confirmed to front a new ITV variety show at the end of this month. The show, fittingly named Comedy Rocks, will see Manford and a host of comedians team up with music acts such as Pixie Lott and Scouting For Girls in an hour-long prime-time special.

The screening of the new show will fall just before Manford embarks on his highly anticipated UK stand-up tour. Scouting For Girls release new video

Scouting For Girls were the most new successful British band of 2008, and the huge band of followers they generated will be delighted to learn that the video for their upcoming single This Ain’t A Love Song is now in circulation. The band’s eponymous first album was a succession of perfectly crafted pop songs, featuring the singles She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead and Heartbeat, and went on to achieve platinum status.

Scouting For Girls are touring in April to coincide with the album’s release and seeing the new video may make waiting that little bit more bearable.

Scouting For Girls announce UK tour

Scouting For Girls have announced a massive UK tour to start in April. The indie-pop outfit will be celebrating the release of their new album ‘Everybody Wants To Be On TV’ on April 12 with twenty-two shows.

Starting on April 19 in Cork’s Savoy Theatre, the tour will take in a number of venues across the UK and include visits to London, Glasgow and Manchester. The Scouting For Girls tour draws to a close at the Brighton Centre on May 24.

Playaway Festival Tickets on Sale Now

Live Nation’s new festival, Playaway, has put tickets on general release this morning. Playaway ticket prices range from £140 to £170. Calvin Harris, Scouting for girls and Noisettes have all been confirmed to play away at the festival.

Calvin Harris and Scouting For Girls have been lined up for the new Playaway Festival that will launch in 2010.

Tickets for the festival went on sale on Friday morning for the event which will be held at Butlins in the Lincolnshire seaside resort of Skegness from 16th to 18th April.

Sheltered accomodation is available for the festival goers with tickets priced from £140-£170 depending on the standard of sleeping quarters.

Playaway is the latest venture from promoter Live Nation which promises to resurrect that faded grandeur of resort that was once the most popular in the UK.

Oasis vs Coldplay in ticket showdown

In the same week that Noel Gallagher labelled Mark Ronson talentless and blasted the music of The Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting For Girls, Oasis officially announced the dates of their UK tour. The 18 date tour gets underway in London on 16th October and closes in Glasgow on 5th November. Tickets go on sale this week and the shows are expected to sell out in record time.

However, it was not only Noel who decided to unleash one of his characteristic outbursts.. Younger brother, Liam, said he thought all of Coldplay’s fans were ‘boring and ugly’. Coldplay who themselves announced their UK tour in June have sold-out all 16 dates. Tickets are selling for as much as £329 on the secondary market – over seven
times face value. Only time will tell if Oasis ticket prices will follow the same trend.
