Adele, Justin Bieber and 30 Seconds To Mars are each shortlisted for three awards, whilst on the back of the announcement of a December 2011 Coldplay UK tour, the band have been nominated for best UK and Ireland act.

The 18th Annual MTV EMA’s will take place at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on November 6th, with the ceremony set to be broadcast live on MTV.

The awards took place in Hollywood on Saturday night. The smash hit rapper was awarded the BMI Icon status for his contributions to the genre. Death Row Records founder Dr Dre gave the award, and Snoop Dogg thanked him and fellow Death Row Records head Marion “Suge” Knight Jr. Accepting the award, he said: “We built Death Row, we built a sound and you can’t take that away. And I’m thankful to both of them because wasn’t nobody from Long Beach rapping then. But I can do 20 more years of this. It ain’t over yet.”

The rapper is to embark on a four-date UK tour this October.

The series of live gigs and DJ sets take place at the renowned Amnesia superclub, said to be the “world’s best club”. The events started on July 1st, and have so far seen artists including Snoop Dogg, 2 Many DJs and Mark Ronson & The Business International take to the stage. Nate Dogg died last year and during Eminem’s performance last night, he dedicated the track Till I Collapse to him. He professed to the crowd ”Make some noise for Nate Dogg y’all”. He went on to perform Next Episode on which Nate Dogg featured along with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Eminem will also be headlining this year’s V Festival along with the likes of Plan B, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys.

On the Friday night the Wombats closed things up with a set of rip-roaring indie dance anthems. The Wombats were supported by other acts including Ed Sheeran and Example.

On the Saturday it was the turn of Snoop Dogg who had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand and his classics such as Gin N’ Juice induced rapturous sing-alongs.

Whilst it was left to the Scissor Sisters to close the weekend up on the Sunday, and they delivered an amazing set of pop fuelled revelry to finish things off in style.

Friday festival-goers may consider themselves lucky, as the weather in London for the remainder of the weekend is expected to take a turn for the worse.

Today, acts such as The Drums, Katy B and Lykke Li will perform on the main stage, which will also host a headline performance from Snoop Dogg, who will play his classic album Duoggystyle in full.

Scissor Sisters will close the festival tomorrow evening and will be supported by Blondie and Robyn.

The legendary rap artist yesterday revealed that he would play a show at London’s O2 Arena on October 7th, and today added to that with a further UK date. As well as the London show, Snoop Dogg will perform in Cardiff on October 8th. It is expected that he will add more shows to the tour in due course.

Taking place in London’s Victoria Park and founded by Groove Armada, the weekend music festival has been labelled “London’s most convincing festival” by NME, and although only running since 2002, has become a firm favourite within the young festival-goers scene.

Headlining the Gaymers Stage on Friday (July 15th) are The Wombats, with support coming from Example and Metronomy. Ed Banger headlines the Relentless Energy Drink Arena. Also appearing on Friday are Ms Dynamite, Vice and Aeroplane.

One half of the bands singers, Ana Matronic, gossiped that the band would perform at least one new track: ”I’m hoping that we’ll actually be playing a new song that people have not heard at all,”

Jake Shears, the other half of the bands vocals has been working away on his musical and so Ana & the band have been doing the new album without him:  ”Jake is out in San Francisco finishing up work on his musical which debuts in just a few weeks. We’re writing without him and he’s going to come back in June and then we are all going to work together and try and put out a new album.”

As ever with the Scissor Sisters, we were left guessing, when Ana hinted that another act may join them on stage  for a “collaboration between us and another that is playing that day. We will leave the surprise for July.” owwwwwwww.

”A lot of kids that I work with, I take under my wing. There’s one living with us now that was an at-risk kid. He’s becoming more productive. As opposed to being a great athlete, we’re making him a great person,” Dogg said.

Snoop Dogg will play a one-off gig in London next month at the HMV Forum, before returning in July to play in Manchester and at the Lovebox Weekender.

The rapper will perform at HMV Forum on May 17 to celebrate the release of his eleventh studio album ‘Doggumentary’.

The rapper will be performing the new album alongside special guests, as well as classics from his back-catalogue.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg has confirmed that he plans to release a new song in an unlikely collaboration with wildman actor Charlie Sheen.

Production duties on the album were taken by a variety of people, including Kanye West, Gorillaz and Rick Rock. Iconic Funkadelic bass player Bootsy Collins also features on the first track.

The record – Spears’s seventh in total – sold 276,000 copies to top the tally, fending off competition from Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers, which shifted 197,000 units at number two.

The three-day event, which is held in London’s Victoria Park, is to be headlined by The Wombats, Snoop Dogg and Scissor Sisters.

Jessie J is to play the main stage on Saturday, while Beth Ditto will appear on the Sunday. Other acts added to the bill include Santigold, The Joy Formidable and Cherryghost.

It is unknown as to whether the star was referring the the US or UK version of the show, but with details of both shows still to be confirmed, it is possible that Snoop Dogg could apear on television screens on both sides of the Atlantic.

Stars of last year’s UK competition are currently taking part in the X Factor Live Tour, with shows taking place until 10th April.

Details of the project are unknown, although Sheen is currently on tour so he may be suggesting some special guests for his shows.

Sheen’s twitter page, which has attracted well over 3 million followers in just one month, had a picture of the three sitting around a computer. Sheen tweeted: “Warlock meets his makers music-makers that is @SnoopDogg @robpatterson666 get ready to rock the Sheenius within.”

We made six or seven songs and created an idea to do a movie and a soundtrack, and just a bond – to build a friendship and build a brotherhood.”

The singer celebrated the occasion on Sunday evening at a private residence in Beverly Hills, after performing at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

The two hip-hop legends were among the star-studded guests and gave the party-goers renditions of some of their biggest hits.

Snoop Dogg recently performed at Glastonbury Festival and Wireless Festival after a two-year absence from the UK.

LCD Soundsystem, the esteemed New York producer James Murphy’s project, are a fantastic dance-punk act, and have recorded three superb albums. Murphy has elected to retire at the top though, and following the band’s tour, LCD Soundsystem will be no more.

They have just five live UK appearances remaining – all at festivals. The first is in three days’ time at Glastonbury, with Wireless Festival, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and Bestival to follow.

LCD Soundsystem actually headline Wireless Festival on Saturday July 3rd 2010, with 2manydjs, Snoop Dogg and Missy Elliott providing able support – alongside a host of other stars.

Perhaps the most sought after festival tickets since going on sale earlier this year are Reading and Leeds festival tickets. This year’s joint festival at Bramham Park, Leeds and Richfield Avenue, Reading will see the likes of Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, The Libertines, Arcade Fire, Foals, We Are Scientists and many more take to the stage. The Isle of Wight festival will kick off the festival season this month, and is set to take place in Newport from the 11th to 13th June. This year’s festival can boast it’s most exciting line-up for many years as headliners include Jay-Z, The Strokes and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney. Isle of Wight weekend tickets, without camping are still available at the face value price of £130. Weekend with camping ticket prices start at just £185, a small price to pay to see so many huge acts.

V Festival is another hugely popular summer destination for music fans. The dual festival will take place in both Chelmsford and Shifnal on 21st and 22nd August and will this year play host to headline appearances from Kasabian and Kings of Leon. Interestingly, V Festival day tickets are available below £100, and considering many Kings of Leon fans are paying more than this to see the band’s headline show at Hyde Park in June, surely their V Festival appearance could be a better alternative, given the appearances on the same day from acts such as Stereophonics, Editors, Paul Weller and The Courteeners.

The full Glastonbury line-up was announced today, and as expected, the festival will showcase a host of huge names from the world of music.
