Status Quo tickets are available for a number of dates of the massive UK winter tour, culminating at Wembley Arena on the 11th December. The classic rockers, who brought the 12-bar blues into the mainstream with hits such as “Caroline” and “Rocking All Over The World”, are playing venues across the country, including huge shows at the Brighton Centre and Cardiff International Arena. The Mighty Quo will also be playing two dates in Manchester, the LG Arena in Birmingham and gigs in Bradford, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Sheffield, Bournemouth, Nottingham, Blackburn and Newcastle before the year ends. Status Quo tickets: Band to perform at Wembley arena as part of huge UK tour

Status Quo will perform at Wembley Arena on Saturday 11th December as part of their latest UK tour. The band are due to play at venues across England, Scotland and Wales throughout November and December this year.

Status Quo are one of the most successful rock bands in history, having recorded over 60 chart hits in the UK and selling out venues across the world. The Wembley performance is sure to be a highlight of the band’s upcoming tour, as it is the only remaining London performance from Status Quo this year.

Status Quo tickets for their Wembley Arena show start at £34 from ticket vendors Seetickets and Eventim. Standing ticket prices start at £40.

Diana Vickers announced as Scouting For Girls support act

Scouting For Girls achieved a first UK number one in April with This Ain’t A Love Song, the first single from their second album Everybody Wants To Be On TV. The London band have just revealed that the support act for their concert at High Lodge in Thetford Forest on July 8th 2010 will be another chart topper: X Factor semi-finalist Diana Vickers.

Diana Vickers reached the top spot with her debut single, Once, just a few weeks later and her album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree followed it to number one in mid-May.

Scouting For Girls tickets are available for all their remaining dates, including the Thetford Forest gig, which will be part of the Forestry Commission Tour and prices begin at £26 from Gigantic.

The Forestry Commission was set up to protect and expand Britain’s most beautiful woodland areas, and other acts supporting the initiative include JLS, Blondie, Katie Melua, The Saturdays, Status Quo, Doves, James Morrison, Keane and Simply Red.

In fact, Forestry Commission Tour tickets are also available for all these acts, with Doves tickets the cheapest at £16 from Ticketmaster subsidiary GetMeIn.

Revenue from the concerts will go towards the regeneration of UK forests.

The untouched areas of Britain’s countryside are an incredibly beautiful environment for many species of wildlife and plants. However, humanity seems to be doing its best to destroy this part of the country through urbanisation, litter and neglect. The Forestry Commission is a non-ministerial government department which was set up to ensure that Britain’s forests are protected and expanded in the best possible way, and part of this mission is funded by the Forestry Commission Tour.

The Forestry Commission decided the best way to combat the issue of receding forests was to try and get some of music’s top acts to perform in Britain’s stunning settings, and so the tour was founded.

N-Dubz join Guilfest line-up

N-Dubz have joined The Human League and Status Quo in the line-up for the Guilfest festival this summer. N-Dubz will play the Main Stage on the Saturday afternoon of the event which takes place at Guildford’s Stoke Park from July 16 – 18.

N-Dubz will be embarking on their 2010 soon and we can confirm N-Dubz tickets are selling fast. N-Dubz kick off their UK tour on March 12. The tour includes visits to a number of top venues in the UK including Ipswich Regent Theatre, Newcastle O2 Academy, Manchester Apollo and O2 Academy Sheffield. The N-Dubz tour draws to a close on April 20 at De Montfort Hall in Leicester.

Status Quo: OBEs their greatest achievement

Status Quo’s Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have revealed that their OBEs are their greatest achievement to date, after receiving the honours from the Queen on Friday night. The old-school rockers were given the award to honour their services to music and charity.

Speaking after the event to BBC News, Rossi said he thought the honour surpassed Status Quo’s role in opening Live Aid in 1985: ‘Live Aid was contrastingly very different and important… but nothing can make you forget this.’

Status Quo are set to tour the UK from May, with dates lined up at a number of venues including Liverpool’s Echo Arena (July 9) and Belfast’s Waterfront Hall (June 3).

Following their hugely popular 2009 tour, Status Quo fans will be glad to learn that the rock band are back on tour this month.

Status Quo are set to play seven dates in January. Status Quo kick off the tour with two shows at the Oxford New Theatre on January 22 & 23. Status Quo are also set to perform live at Harrogate International Centre (January 25 & 26), Cambridge Corn Exchange (January 28) and Ipswich Regent Theatre (January 29). Status Quo bring the tour to a close on January 31 at Victoria Hall in Stoke.

Status Quo named “hardest working band”

The Performing Rights Society has named Status Quo as the hardest-working band of 2009.

During the year, the Quo has played to over a quarter of a million people in 27 venues across the UK, putting them at the top of a list which includes stalwarts such as Cliff Richard, Take That, Coldplay and relative newcomers Kings of Leon.

Status Quo will be continuing this impressive show of dedication to their fans in January 2010, with seven more dates in January across the UK, and select dates in May and June which will also take in venues in the Republic of Ireland.

Status Quo Pull Out of Gig

OAP rockers, Status Quo, have pulled out of their performances at Ipswich’s Regent after Francis Rossi caught a chest infection. Their performance at the Cambridge Corn Exchange has also been postponed. Existing tickets should be valid for the re-sceduled events, although it would be advisable to check with the venue directly.

Status Quo is Picture perfect

Status Quo’s 2009-10 world tour came home to the UK on November 10th, kicking off a 27-date series at Bristol’s Colston Hall, and culminating in a final date at the Bournemouth International Centre on December 21st before jetting off to Australia after the new year.

The Quo is touring to support the release in 2008 of their compilation album, Pictures – 40 Years of Hits. Their most recent studio album, 2007′s In Search of the Fourth Chord – pokes self-deprecating fun at the band’s preference in its early years for simpler songs with a basic three-chord structure. This gentle self-parody and honest desire to entertain has paid off, decade after decade; although the band took shape as “The Status Quo” as long ago as 1967, earlier this year the band played at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival, cementing Status Quo as a favourite with a new, younger breed of fan. And in March, frontman Francis Rossi surprised fans everywhere by deciding his trademark, 35-year-old ponytail had to be cut off with the aim of growing old a little more gracefully.

The newly invigorated, cleaner-cut Status Quo will see out November with dates in Basingstoke, Ipswich, Cambridge, Oxford and Halifax. Tickets to these gigs – and more – are available to buy and compare at tixdaq.com
