Kane supported Liam Gallaghers new band Beady Eye on a recent tour of the U.K and Noel laid down some backing vocals to a track on his forthcoming solo album, ‘Colour of the Trap’.

Miles played down Noel’s contribution, saying: “Again that’s a thing the press blow out of the water, but I was mixing my record and he came down one afternoon to hang out, and I was going to put these harmonies on and he ended up doing it. I just met him a couple of times really and it was just one of them things where I was mixing, he was about and came in to say hello and had a Kit Kat and a coffee and sang a bit of BVs, you know.”

He was more enthused by his time with Beady Eye. stating that “we had the time of our lives there”, adding it was an honour to get asked and we had a great time and the gigs were good”.

The man who was also one half of The Last Shadow Puppets also spoke of his fondness for the Super Furry Animals.

“When I was whatever, 14, 15. I think Super Furry Animals was one of the first gigs me and my mate bought a ticket for and you waited ages to go, you know, you went and then it’s the first time you scored the mosh pit or whatever. You know, even bought a t-shirt, and when I got home my mother said I was never the same since really, and it did change my life, man.”

Isle of Wight Festival tickets:

Fans with Isle of Wight Festival tickets can expect big things this summer, with a line-up that could be considered one of the best festival bills of the summer. The event will be headlined by Jay-Z, The Strokes and Paul McCartney and there will also be appearances across the weekend from the likes of  Florence and the Machine, Blondie, Calvin Harris and Biffy Clyro.

Isle of Wight festival weekend with camping tickets can be picked up on the secondary ticket market for around £185. Alternatively, weekend tickets without camping can be bought for as little as £120.

Hard Rock Calling tickets:

Although only in it’s fourth year in 2010, Hard Rock Calling is quickly establishing itself as one of the best London festivals of the year. This year, as well as his Isle of Wight appearance, Paul McCartney will be headlining, along with Pearl Jam and Stevie Wonder. Other acts include The Hives, Jamiroquai, Crowded House, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Elvis Costello.

Although weekend tickets are not available, Hard Rock Calling day tickets are currently trading for as little as £40. That is less than the average price paid to see Paul McCartney perform at his upcoming headline shows here in the UK.

Reading and Leeds Festival tickets:

Perhaps a festival aimed more at the younger generation of festival goers, the Reading and Leeds festival boasts a huge line-up that can surely compete with that of Glastonbury. Blink 182, The Libertines, Guns N’ Roses, Arcade Fire, Dizzee Rascal and Cypress Hill will all be appearing on the main stage throughout the weekend.

Expect to pay around £230 on the secondary ticket market for a weekend ticket with camping to either Reading or Leeds. Considering the face value price was around £190 when the tickets went on sale a few months ago, it is well worth spending the extra few pounds to take advantage of the fantastic line-up.

Hop Farm Festival tickets:

Hop Farm Festival may not be the most talked about festival of the summer, but it will this year play host to the likes of Bob Dylan, Pete Doherty, Van Morrison, Laura Marling and Seasick Steve. The festival takes place in Tonbridge this July and is probably the cheapest alternative to Glastonbury this summer.

Day tickets cost around £45 each, with camping tickets costing £25 on top of that.

Gorillaz tickets:

Although not exactly a festival alternative, Gorillaz will be touring the UK in September on the back of their Glastonbury headline appearance. The band will be appearing at venues such as Glasgow SECC, Birmingham NIA, Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, Manchester MEN Arena,London O2 Arena and Dublin O2 Arena.

The Super Furry Animals tour kicks off at the HMV Forum in London on October 9. The Super Furry Animals are also due to play at the Glasgow O2 ABC on October 15 and The Ritz Ballroom in Manchester on October 16.

Super Furry Animals released their latest album entitled Dark Days/Light Years earlier this year and it is expected that fans will get to hear material from the new album live at the forthcoming shows.

The second album from Simian Mobile Disco is called Temporary Pleasure and is due for release on August 17.

Collaborations with lead singer of The Gossip, Beth Ditto, and Super Furry Animals front man, Gruff Rhys, are expected to feature on the new album.

The Gossip and Super Furry Animals will be performing at various summer festivals this year.

The Gossip will be at Latitude Festival (July 16-19) and the Reading & Leeds Festival (August 28-30), whilst Super Furry Animals will be performing at Wychwood Festival (May 29-31), Rock Ness 2009 (June 12-14), Hop Farm Festival (July 4-5) and Relentless Boardmasters (August 7-8).

The Simian Mobile Disco tour that will follow the release of new album Temporary Pleasure will last for 11 shows starting at Cardiff University on September 24 and concluding at the Birmingham Institute on October 10.
