It is expected that Friday should be dry with sunny spells, with highs of 21º. While the Saturday will be similar and there will be lows of 11 and slightly cooler highs of 17º.

“Yes, we get on each other’s nerves, but that’s part of pushing each other. We push each other. The people who have a problem with Kanye or myself are the people that are complacent in life. The radio station will play three shows from the festival over the weekend, on Saturday 6th August, 7-10pm, Sunday 7 August, 10am-12noon and Sunday 7th August, 8-10pm.

They have objected to the way in which the record will be available to download from ITunes a week before it is available as a physical release in record stores.
The record stores have banded together and written a collaborative letter in protest. According to Pithfork, the letter reads:

“We believe this is a short-sighted strategy, and that your decisions will be doing great damage to over 1,700 independent record stores – stores that have supported you and your music for years.”

Despite such strong odds, the Mercury Music prize always seems to serve up surprises and James Blake has to be a strong contendor with his slice of dub-step transformed into a beautifully melancholic package of pianos and minimalism. The Russian-American synthpop artist will play at London’s Toynbee Hall on September 26th – the same day as her third album, Conatus, is released. Her last album, Stridulum II, her first in the UK, was subject to universal critical acclaim, with NME calling it a “dark masterpiece.”

Universal are taking legal action as “the result in no way resembles the final song Kanye West intended his fans to hear, and he is deeply disappointed that one of the most personal, meaningful and special songs he has ever written would reach people in this way.”

Those who originally bought tickets to the now cancelled Big Green Gathering can attend a different festival instead.

The Big Green Gathering, which was originally due to take place at the Somerset Fernhill Farm from July 29 – August 2, was cancelled because of the threat of an injunction from the local council.

Now, Big Green Gathering tickets can be traded in for tickets to attend the Big Chill Festival, providing an additional payment of £20 is also made to make up for the value of the Big Chill Festival ticket.

The Big Chill Festival will take place at the Herefordshire Eastnor Castle Deer Park from August 6-9.

Some of the acts confirmed to appear at the Big Chill Festival are Orbital, Basement Jaxx, David Byrne and Spiritualized.
