It’s a big deal. It’s hokey and wonderful and poignant and powerful. It’s really become a perfect combination of my fantastical robot-world vision and [director Des McAnuff's] little, internal, humanistic version of what that music is. I really believe it could work — and luckily I don’t have to do much!”

The Flaming Lips tickets are on sale now for the band’s upcoming UK performances. The band will play an Eden Sessions concert in June, followed by a headline show at Alexandra Palace in London. They will then headline the first ever Live From Jodrell Bank in Cheshire on 2nd July.

<object

The rockers performed a mash-up of ‘Dominoes’ and Carly Simon’s 1972 hit ‘You’re So Vain’ with Lily Allen, but this was not before some grovelling had to be done.

‘We thought it was a really funny thing to do – do ‘You’re So Vain,’ Robbie Furze told NME, before revealing how he got permission to play the song. ‘I wrote Carly Simon an email going… well, I was just really… honest. I guess she must have listened to the song. One of the two – the email was good and the song was good!’

The Big Pink are set for a six-date UK tour this May. The duo will perform at venues across the UK including London, Glasgow and Manchester among others. Tickets are on sale now through all the major vendors including Ticketmaster, Seatwave and Seetickets, and are available to compare through Tixdaq.com.

<a
