Hop Farm Festival adds more names to bill

Graham Coxon, Chrissie Hynde with JP Jones and Manu Chao La Ventura have been added to the bill of this year’s Hop Farm Festival.

They are joined on the card for Saturday July the 2nd at Paddock Wood in Kent by Guillemots, Tim Booth and Damien Dempsey.

Other new acts added for Friday July the 1st at the festival are The Duke Spirit, Kitty Daisy & Lewis and The Secret Sisters.

Previously announced artists over the weekend of the fourth annual Hop Farm Music Festival include Morrissey, Lou Reed, Iggy & The Stooges, Patti Smith, Eagles, Bryan Ferry, The Human League, Ocean Colour Scene, Gang Of Four, Noisettes and The Bluetones.

Hop Farm Festival has previously been headlined by Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

The Bluetones to split up after UK tour

Seminal Britpop act The Bluetones have announced that they will be splitting up after completing an Autumn tour of the UK.

The four-piece, who formed in Hounslow in 1993, have decided to call it a day with a farewell UK tour later in 2011.

“We’re afraid the time has come and we must say farewell,” they said. “After 17 years of touring and six studio albums, The Bluetones have decided that this Autumn’s tour will be our last. We will be playing a career-spanning set of songs as a way to say thank you to our loyal supporters and hopefully signing off with a bit of a bang.”

The London four-piece – Mark Morriss, Adam Devlin, Scott Morriss and Eds Chesters – scored their biggest hit in 1996 with ‘Slight Return’, which peaked at number 2 in 1996.

Matt Berry tickets available now for UK tour of comedy and music

Best known for his acting roles in Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh, Matt Berry is also an accomplished musician and composer. In addition to writing the spoof musical AD/BC, he has toured and released albums with his band Jonas 3.

Indeed, Matt Berry tickets are on sale now for his UK tour in November this year, which will be a mix of comedy and music. He will perform on the following dates:

The Bluetones announce UK tour

Cult indie rock band The Bluetones have announced a tour of the UK this spring. The group behind hits Slight Return and Marblehead Johnson are to play a mammoth 22 date tour in support of their forthcoming sixth album A New Athens, which is expected to be released around the same time as the tour.
