Kaiser Chiefs confirmed for Isle of Wight Festival

The Leeds band will take to the main stage before headliners Kings of Leon.

Foo Fighters and the reformed Pulp appear on Saturday, and Kasabian close the festival after Beady Eye on Sunday.

Tim Burgess and Mark Collins from The Charlatans have just been confirmed as playing an acoustic slot on the Garden Stage, where Midge Ure and James Walsh from Starsailor performed last year.

The sold-out festival takes place June 10 – 12. Last year’s Friday night headliner was Jay-Z, who surprised the gathering crowd by bringing on Kanye West towards the end of his performance.

Kendal Calling 2011 announces headline acts

Chase and Status, The Cribs and Blondie will headline this year’s Kendal Calling festival, which will be held at Lowther Deer park in the Lake District, over the weekend of 29-31 July.

The festival, which won Best Small Fsetival at the 2010 Festival Awards, also boasts Echo and The Bunnymen, The Whip, Young Knives and The Levellers.

The Charlatans have also confirmed they will perform an acoustic set.

More acts are due to be announced soon.

The Charlatans UK acoustic tour confirmed, tickets on sale

The Charlatans have announced details of their latest UK tour, set to take place in March. The band will perform a series of acoustic gigs after last year’s successful live shows, including their Some Friendly tour, which saw the band perform their debut LP in full at three special concerts.

The upcoming Charlatans UK tour will see the band perform at venues in cities such as Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. Details of all Charlatans 2011 live dates are as follows:

Central Station, Wrexham – 8th March
Riverside, Newcastle – 10th
Brudenell Social Club, Leeds – 11th
The Georgian Theatre, Yorkshire – 12th
Deaf Institute, Manchester – 13th
Underground, Stoke on Trent – 14th

The Charlatans tickets for the band’s October UK tour are now on sale. The band will be supported throughout the tour by former Happy Mondays front-man, Shaun Ryder.

The Charlatans will be appearing in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dundee, Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester, Oxford, Bristol, Norwich, London and Birmingham.

Charlatans extend special Some Friendly tour

The Charlatans are one of the UK’s finest rock bands, and have had a richly rewarding career that has enabled them to make ten albums. It is now twenty years since their debut LP Some Friendly, and to commemorate the occasion the group decided to perform the album in full at London’s Roundhouse in Camden. Demand proved to be exceptionally high for the single UK date, so the Charlatans have added two further concerts in Glasgow and Blackpool.

Full dates for the tour are listed below:

V Festival Lineup at Weston Park announced!

V Festival lineup has finally been announced and it looks to be an extravaganza with fantastic live acts across the board. The festival at Weston Park near Birmingham will first be headlined by the brilliant Kasabian on August 21st 2010, and the next night Kings Of Leon will delight the crowd.

Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons for B’estfest

It has been announced that The Killers, Franz Ferdinand,Klaxons, Moby, The Ting Tings andOrbital have all agreed to appear at this B’estfest event due to take place in Bucharest, Romania this coming July (July1 to July 5).

Also due to appear at this years event are The Ting Tings, Moby, Motorhead, Santana, and The Charlatans. While other acts include; Thievery Corporation, Patrice, Ayo,The Faint, Manowar and Holyhell.

B’estfest which represents the highlight of the Romanian music calendar will take place across two outdoor stages and one indoor Arena.

UK fans will have the opportunity to catch Orbital and Motorhead in the coming months with the tickets available from £23 and £25 respectively.

Orbital will be making a handful of appearances on this June at Brighton Dome (June 10) and O2 Academy Leeds (June 11). Orbital will set out on tour this coming September with shows at Manchester Academy (September 18 & 19), O2 Academy Newcastle (September 21) and O2 Academy Sheffield (September 23). The Orbital tour will come to an end with two dates at the O2 Academy Brixton (September 24 and 25).
