Spector, Dan Mangan, Francois And The Atlas Mountains and Clock Opera have also been added to the list of performers. They join The Futureheads, The Big Bink, Glasvegas and former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, who are among the acts already confirmed for this year’s bash.

The Camden Crawl has grown from a 5 venue and 20 artist affair to an event which included more than 50 venues and 250 artists and events in 2011.

The band will play the shows, just outside of Leeds city centre, on September 10th and September 11th. On the first night, support will come from Gruff Rhys, Pete & The Pirates and The Neat, while the second show will have support from The Cribs, Frankie & The Heartstrings and Spector.

Although tickets from the official agents have sold out for the first gig, there are still plenty of tickets for both events available from resellers, from just £25.

“Surgery was the only option but due to our busy touring schedule there never seemed to be a good time to do it, so it kept getting put off and put off again. Things kept getting worse however to the point where even just sitting on a plane became a grueling ordeal, so the decision was made to have the operation after festival season finished this year.”

Ryan went on to add that following 6 weeks of convalescence, the band will be back and working on their 5th studio album. The Cribs will also be supporting the Kaiser Chiefs at their forthcoming hometown show at Leed’s Kirkstall Abbey.

On his track Into the Ground, Green compares Kate Nash to Krusty the Clown from the Simpsons, much to the annoyance of The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman who is currently going out with Kate Nash.

Jarman and Green were not the best of friends before this recent incident as Green tried it on with Kate Nash on his tour last year. Now Green has responded by telling the Daily Star, “Kate Nash is definitely different-looking to the girls I’ve been out with so I ask Ryan Jarman how you can accuse me of clucking over Krusty The Clown; that’s an insult in itself.”

Also on today’s bill are acts including Frank Turner, the Levellers and French Soler. Last night the Cribs played a triumphant show to the delight of crowds, while Chase and Status set the crowd on fire with their headline slot on the Friday night.

Blondie will also be playing at this year’s Bestival along with the likes of the Maccabees and Willy Mason.

Playing on tonight’s main-stage will be dub-step gods Chase and Status, hip-hop legends House of Pain and the Whip. Whilst playing on the Glow Dance Tent will be Nero and Maverick Sabre.

The forecast for the festival which kicks off this Friday (29th July) looks surprisingly good. It should be sunny with cloudy spells and a chance of rain on Friday, sunny spells and cloud on Saturday and then sun on the Sunday.

While this hopeful news is encouraging we all know the English weather can change very fast so don’t be too optimistic. Set to perform at this year’s Kendal Calling are acts including The Cribs, Blondie, Chase and Status and Frank Turner.

Gary Jarman commented that recording will start this week and that the band are “really excited about it.” Jarman also talked of how the record may be very inspired by Queen and confessed that he has been addicted to Queen’s Innuendo album. This comment has given rise to speculation that the new Cribs album will have a new Queen-esque sound.

Although no date has been confirmed for the release of the record, it could be out at the end of this year. The Cribs will also be playing along with The Kaiser Chiefs at their Kirkstall Abbey show on September 11th and at this weekend’s Kendal Calling Festival.

The hugely successful pop/rockers from Leeds will play these two shows at Kirkstall Abbey on September 10th and 11th and it will be sure to be some show. Grown from humble beginnings in 2006, the independent festival has expanded now to a capacity of 8000 with over 9 stages. It is an advert for how to run a successful festival it seems and this year promises to be the biggest and best Kendal Calling yet.

Festival goers had enjoyed a day full of sunshine on the Friday, but will now have to rely on wellies for the remainder of the event.

Paolo Nutini headlined the main stage yesterday evening, and was supported by the likes of My Morning Jacket, the Cribs, Seasick Steve and Rumer. Foals closed the Word Arena.

Suede will bring the festival to a close this evening, following performances throughout the day from Hurts, Glasvegas, Anna Calvi, Eels, Lykke Li and Everything Everything.

Latitude Festival arrives in Suffolk on July 15th, for three days of incredible music in one of the most relaxed festivals in the country. On August 20th, V Festival kicks off in Chelmsford (Hylands Park) and Staffordshire (Weston Park). The event will take place at Clapham Common, London, on 12th June. The festival started in 2004 and was initially on August Bank Holiday, but changed to its new date after a sbbatical in 2010.

Ryan Jarman and the other band members from The Cribs will be playing extra dates for their UK tour in December

The Cribs have announced that they will be playing more shows as part of their UK tour before the end of the year.

Tickets to see The Cribs are already available for shows in September and October, but have now added four more dates for December.

The new dates will be played at the Birmingham O2 Academy (December 2), London Brixton O2 Academy (December 3), Doncaster Dome (December 5) and the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (December 6).

The Cribs tickets for the December gigs will go on general sale on Friday July 17 at 9am.

However, tickets are still available for the previously announced dates, such as the University of East Anglia LCR (September 24), Liverpool O2 Academy (September 26), Manchester Apollo (October 2) and the London HMV Forum (October 15).

The Cribs will also appear at the White Air Extreme Sports and Music Festival, which takes place at Brighton Beach from September 18-20.

Just before hitting the road, The Cribs will be releasing their new single Cheat On Me, just before their fourth studio album called Ignore The Ignorant goes on sale on September 7.

Ignore The Ignorant is also the first album to feature their new guitarist Johnny Marr, formerly of The Smiths.

Ryan Jarman of The Cribs reveals details of their new album Ignore The Ignorant

The Cribs have revealed details of their fourth studio album, titled Ignore The Ignorant.

The new album, containing twelve tracks, is the first to be recorded with The Cribs’ new guitarist Johnny Marr and was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Launay.

The Cribs frontman Ryan Jarman claims that the album title was partly inspired by the rise of the British National Party, who recently won a seat at the recent European Elections in Yorkshire, where the band members are from.

The Cribs’ last album was released in May 2007 and was titled Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever.

Ignore The Ignorant will be released on September 7 with a new single called Cheat On Me to be released prior to this on August 31.

The release of Ignore The Ignorant will coincide with The Cribs tour of the UK, where they are due to play at the Liverpool O2 Academy (September 26), Manchester Apollo (October 2) and the Leeds O2 Academy (October 4) before finishing at the London HMV Forum (October 15).

The expected tour would following on from Radiohead’s 2008 In Rainbows tour which culminated in a showpiece concert at London’s Hyde park.

O’Brien was speaking at the first meeting of the Featured Artists’ Coalition in London. The newly formed music industry lobby of musicians who are attempting to establish a more prominent voice in the future of the music industry.

The FAC has claimed it will fight to ensure that the interests of artists and fans are not compromised by deals brokered between multi-national corporations which only serve corporations self interest. To this end it is asking for transparency from the industry in exchange for cooperation towards renewal and growth.
