The NME reports that lead singer Wayne Coyne said of the incident, “The Oklahoma wind and rain was a little bit more unpredictable than we had hoped, and we had a bad gust. The whole thing is shambolic and a bit dangerous and we’re working to get as much off of the stage before we get hit with the second wave.”

Coyne told fans over Twitter that the gig was cancelled and also posted on the site that he thought he was going to die, but reports confirm that nobody was injured.

The Flaming Lips will be playing Portland on September 20th, and fans are hopeful that the gig will go ahead without any problems.

Lead singer Wanye Coyne comments about the single that “It’s a wonderful song. Some of it’s kind of disturbing, some of it’s kind of funny but overall I think it’s very entertaining.”

The single is a collaborative piece with Lightning Bolt and offers a mind blowing multi-coloured video.

Speaking to Billboard, frontman Wayne Coyne said “It’ll be a big chunk of Flaming Lips music, probably about 30 songs. It’s a big deal. It’s hokey and wonderful and poignant and powerful. It’s really become a perfect combination of my fantastical robot-world vision and [director Des McAnuff's] little, internal, humanistic version of what that music is. I really believe it could work — and luckily I don’t have to do much!”

The Flaming Lips tickets are on sale now for the band’s upcoming UK performances. The band will play an Eden Sessions concert in June, followed by a headline show at Alexandra Palace in London. They will then headline the first ever Live From Jodrell Bank in Cheshire on 2nd July.

Pendulum, James Blake and PJ Harvey will play the festival, curated by Rob Da Bank. Taking place from the 8th to the 11th of September, previous headliners at the Bestival include Massive Attack and The Flaming Lips.

The festival will also include DJ sets from Fatboy Slim and Radio 1′s Zane Lowe.

The Flaming Lips are an American psychedelic rock band, formed in Oklahoma, and are best known for their bizarre song titles and unusual lyrics as well as their superb musical arrangements. The band will be supported at the show by Dinosaur Junior, who will be playing the entirety of their album, Bug, as well as Deerhoof, who will be performing M.

After the culmination of her Funhouse Summer Carnival tour, she will play in Hyde Park London, headlining the Wireless Festival. She tops a bill above the Ting Tings, Gossip, The Temper Trap and Plan B – to name but a few, and Wireless Festival tickets are currently on sale for £35.

The full Glastonbury line-up was announced today, and as expected, the festival will showcase a host of huge names from the world of music.
