Q Awards 2011 nominations revealed

The nominations for this year’s Q Awards have been revealed, with acts such as Arctic Monkeys and Jessie J securing multiple nominations. The winners will be named on October 24th at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

British singer Adele leads the way with three nominations in total, including Best Female Artists. The news comes as the September Adele tour resumed this week, following the singer’s illness.

Kate Bush may release new record by the end of 2011

Kate Bush it seems may be back and making a new album which could be released by the end of this year.

The Wuthering Heights star could release a new record as early as November according to her label, EMI. A spokesperson from EMI told the Star Observer that “we’ve been told to prepare for a November release.”

However the EMI representative did add that “Of course, you can never be sure with Kate Bush. She does things at her own pace.”

The child prodigy amazed the world with her beautiful voice and eclectic song writing ability, and she went on to be one of the most successful British female artists of all time.

The Prodigy to release live CD/DVD

The Prodigy have confirmed that they will release a live CD and DVD of their Warrior’s Dance performance at the Milton Keynes Bowl last year.

“A lot of thought went into the place where we could throw the best party,” said a statement from the band members. “We never wanted the typical stadium venue, so Milton Keynes Bowl was perfect for our first ever UK Warrior’s Dance Festival ‘coz it felt like a mad party in a field.”

“The night was massive for us. It was important to us to bring a proper festival day and night for the people to remember and bring the same intense atmosphere like when we play Brixton Academy…and it was.”

“We never intended to do a live DVD, but when we saw the footage we knew it had to be done…and born out of that we realised we had a great live album too!”

The packages will be released on May 23rd.

Foo Fighters to broadcast live concert in 3D

Foo Fighters’ new album ‘Wasting Light’ will be performed and broadcast to cinema screens across the US . The move comes on the back of many bands choosing to broadcast gigs in cinemas, with Faithless and The Prodigy to name but two.

But band are to now add an extra dimension to the experience by allowing fans to watch the performance in 3D.

Jonathan Dern, president of Cinedigm Entertainment Group, said “This is a collaboration of world class, innovative and experienced 3D partners in the business. We look forward to providing a fantastic evening to fans around the country”.

The documentary and live show is due to air across 80 cinemas in the US on April the 5th. No details have been released for any UK screenings yet, although they are expected to occur later in the year.

Foo Fighters have a number of festival dates lined up for this summer, playing T in the Park and the Isle of Wight Festival amongst other dates.

Bestival tickets still on sale as line-up nears completion

Bestival tickets are still available for this year’s ‘fantasy’ themed event on the Isle Of Wight. The festival will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th September and is the last major UK festival of the year.

Acts confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, and The Prodigy on Sunday, plus Mumford & Sons, The Temper Trap, The xx, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, The Cuban Brothers and many more.

Although officially sold out from primary ticket vendors, Bestival weekend tickets start trading at £190 on the secondary ticket market, with the cheapest currently listed on fan-to-fan ticket exchange website Viagogo. Tickets are also available from vendors such as Seatwave, GetMeIn and eBay.

V Festival tickets available as both sites prepare to open gates

There are still a limited number of V Festival tickets available on the secondary ticket market. The festival sites in Chelmsford and Shifnal will open to music fans tomorrow, and today could be the last chance to buy weekend and day tickets.

The festival will be headlined by Kasabian and Kings of Leon, with both bands recently promising big performances. The Prodigy, David Guetta, Stereophonics, Paul Weller, Editors, Faithless and The Kooks are just some of the many huge names also set to appear across the weekend.

Both V Festival Chelmsford weekend tickets and V Festival Shifnal weekend tickets start trading at £187. The cheapest Chelmsford day tickets are priced at £90 whilst the cheapest Shifnal day tickets cost £100. In total, there are just over 650 V Festival tickets still on the market.

V Festival takes place this weekend at both Chelmsford and Shifnal, and tickets are still available for the two day event to be headlined by Kings Of Leon and Kasabian. Kings Of Leon have announced that they are to preview tracks from their forthcoming album, Come Around Sundown, when they headline V Festival in both Chelmsford and Shifnal later this month. The record has been eagerly anticipated by fans ever since the success of Only By The Night, which contained singles such as Sex On Fire and Use Somebody.

The band will headline the festival along with Kasabian, with other acts such as Stereophonics, Paul Weller, The Kooks, Faithless, David Guetta, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Paolo Nutini and Editors also confirmed to appear across the weekend.

Pendulum tickets available this Friday for UK arena tour

Pendulum have announced details of a UK arena tour to take place throughout December 2010, on the back of a hugely successful year for the Australian electronic band.

Pendulum will kick of the tour at Birmingham NIA on Thursday second December and will stop off at Wembley Arena, Nottingham Trent FM Arena, Bournemouth International Centre and Manchester Central before bringing the tour to a close at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on Thursday 9th December.

Pedulum released their third album, Immersion, this year and recently supported The Prodigy at their headline show at Milton Keynes National Bowl.

Pendulum tickets are to go on sale this Friday, 30th July. Hadouken! have been confirmed as the Pendulum support act for the duration of the tour.

A host of special guests have been confirmed for The Prodigy’s upcoming show at Milton Keynes National Bowl. The Prodigy will be performing at the venue on Saturday 24th July and will be joined by Pendulum, Enter Shikari, Chase and Status, Does It Offend You, Yeah? And Zane Lowe. Doors open at 13.00 for the show.

The Prodigy have been named as ‘The Most Influential Dance Act of All Time’ according to a survey commissioned by Global Gathering. The band received a higher percentage of votes than acts such as Daft Punk, Faithless, New Order and Orbital in order to run out as winners.

The electronic trio have sold over 20million albums since forming in the early 1990′s and recently performed a hit-filled set at Scotland’s T In The Park Festival.

Eminem retains UK number one album spot with Recovery

Eminem fought off Scissor Sisters to retain the number one spot in the UK Album Chart for a second week. The Detroit rapper – also known as Slim Shady – has achieved an incredible amount of success throughout his stellar career, with approximately 80 million records sold and eleven Grammy awards won, and another UK number one only goes to demonstrate his continued popularity worldwide.

Eminem will headline T In The Park in Scotland this summer, as well as playing at Oxegen Festival just outside Dublin.

After Beyoncé made a surprise cameo appearance on stage with husband Jay-Z at Coachella earlier this year, T In The Park ticket holders could be in for an unexpected treat. Beyoncé was welcomed on stage by her husband in order to perform a duet of Forever Young to delighted festival goers in California, and rumours are now circulating that the same thing could happen again.

Jay-Z is set to appear on the main stage at T In The Park on Sunday night, performing before headline act Kasabian. T In The Park is Scotland’s biggest festival and will this year play host to some of the most recognised names in music today, including Eminem, Muse, Stereophonics, Biffy Clyro, Faithless, The Black Eyed Peas, Prodigy and Madness.

Gorillaz play Glastonbury Pyramid Stage tonight ahead of Roskilde appearance

When U2 were forced to pull out of their headline appearance at Glastonbury due to a serious back problem for singer Bono, Gorillaz stepped up admirably to fill their shoes. Indeed, had frontman Damon Albarn not topped the festival’s bill last year with Blur, it would not be unreasonable to suggest that Gorillaz would be first choice for the festival.

For those of us like U2 and unable to make it to Glastonbury, it might be worth heading to Denmark next weekend. Roskilde Festival takes place between July 1-4 2010, and offers an excellent range of artists on its lineup.

The headline acts are Gorillaz (of course), Danish band Nephew, The Prodigy as well as a rare appearance from innovative American musician Prince, who is sure to play all the best-loved songs from his outstanding career.

Editors head the list of new names added to the T in the Park line-up this week, which also includes Frightened Rabbit and Delta Maid. The festival is only 21 days away and some of the biggest names in music have been confimed to play across the weekend.

Muse, Eminem and Kasabian will headline the event which runs from the 9th to 11th July. The Black Eyed Peas, The Prodigy, Madness, Calvin Harris, Jay-Z, Stereophonics and Faithless will also entertain the 85,000 strong crowd.

Pixie Lott has been confirmed as the support act for Rihanna’s upcoming UK tour in May. The Brit Award nominee was invited personally by the Rihanna, and will be playing all ten UK dates with the Barbadian singer most famous for the huge hit Umbrella.

It has recently been confirmed that Lady GaGa was the most listened to artist of 2009. According to a number of online streaming services including Last.fm and Spotify, Lady GaGa has officially been confirmed as the most played artist over the course of the last twelve months.

The Killers came in second place, while Lily Allen, The Prodigy and Franz Ferdinand made up t he top five.

It is rumoured that David Grohl’s new band, Them Crooked Vultures, are set to perform before the Arctic Monkeys this evening.

The Arctic Monkeys are playing a special gig at London Brixton Academy that is only open to members of their fan club. Alex Turner and his band mates are set to showcase material from the latest Arctic Monkeys album entitled Humbug which was released this week.

Rumours are currently circulating online suggesting Them Crooked Vultuers will be performing in the support slot. Them Crooked Vultures is the latest prjoect of Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl. The band also features Josh Homme of Queens of the Stonage as well as Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones.

Arctic Monkeys to play Brixton gig

Arctic Monkeys frontman, Alex Turner, has recently confirmed that the band are set to play a special one-off show at Brixton O2 Academy, London. Arctic Monkeys will perform live on August 26 at the Brixton venue.

The Arctic Monkeys have revealed that the gig will only be open to fan club members. Fans of the Arctic Monkeys have until midnight tomorrow (August 19) to register for tickets on the band’s official site ArcticMonkeys.com. Fans will be selected at random and invited to purchase tickets.

The Arctic Monkeys are set to preview their forthcoming album, Humbug, as they warm up for the 2009 Reading and Leeds Festival.

The 2009 Reading and Leeds Festival is set to take place over the August Bank Holiday (August 26-29). Radiohead set to play new songs

It has recently been announced that Radiohead will treat their fans to previously unheard tracks at the forthcoming Reading and Leeds festival.

Radiohead have also revealed that they will be releasing a new song entitled These Are My Twisted Words as a free download.

Radiohead guitarist, Jonny Greenwood, posted a comment on the Dead Air Space blog confirming the band will be playing the new track and some other new material at the Reading and Leeds Festival. The new track is available to download along with Harry Patch (In Memory Of) which was released earlier this month.

The Prodigy have announced details of their Run With The Wolves Tour which takes place in January 2010

Rock and dance act The Prodigy are to go on a mini tour of the UK in January 2010 in what they have called the Run With The Wolves Tour.

The venues are places The Prodigy have rarely visited and is the result of the demand from many of their fans who have yet to catch them perform live.

The Prodigy are currently on a world tour of their album Invaders Must Die and will be releasing the single Take Me To The Hospital on August 31.

The Run With The Wolves Tour begins at the Doncaster Dome on January 21 2010 and will be stopping off at the Bridlington Spa (January 22), Blackpool Empress Ballroom at Winter Gardens (January 23), Plymouth Pavilions (January 25), Southend-on-Sea Cliffs Pavilion (January 26), and finally the Bournemouth International Centre (January 27).

The Prodigy tickets for the Run With The Wolves Tour will go on general sale on Friday August 14 at 9.30am.

The last scheduled UK festival date for The Prodigy this year is the Reading & Leeds Festival, which is taking place at the Reading Richfield Avenue and the Leeds Bramham Park over the Bank Holiday weekend of August 28-30.

Horrors’ club night returns

It has been recently revealed that The Horrors have confirmed that their popular London club night, The Cave Club, will return to the Buffalo Bar, Islington. The night returns after a five month absence and will feature DJ sets from The Horrors band members. The show will take place on August 15th.

As well as DJ performances from the band, the night will also feature a debut live performance from Welsh band, The Infamous.

The Horrors have had a successful 2009 following a series of sold out concerts as well as a Mercury Music Prize nomination for their latest album, Primary Colours.

Horrors fans still have a chance to see the band live in concert this year as the band bring their summer to a close with shows at Reading and Leeds Festival. The Prodigy have confirmed that they are planning a collaboration with Dizzee Rascal.

Dizzee Rascal has already supported The Prodigy during their UK tour of the album Invaders Must Die in April 2009.

Dizzee Rascal recently expressed his wish to work with The Prodigy, describing their live shows as powerful and intense.

Speaking at last weekend’s Download Festival, Liam Howlett and Keith Flint of The Prodigy revealed that the collaboration was on the way, and that it was just a matter of time before they headed to the studio together.

The Prodigy are set to perform at Global Gathering at Long Marston Airfield, Stratford Upon Avon which takes place from July 24-25, as well as the Reading & Leeds Festival, taking place at Leeds Bramham Park and Reading Richfield Avenue from August 28-30.

Nirvana to release Reading Festival DVD

It has recently been confirmed that Universal Music are set to release the official recording of the hugely popular Nirvana performance from the 1992 Reading Festival.

A bootleg copy of performance was previously circulated online and proved to be so popular that Universal Music and the remaining members of Nirvana agreed to release the footage officially.

An unofficial video of the show, ‘Life Takes No Prisoners, will be released on May 4. The official DVD is due to be released in November.

The 2009 Reading Festival line up includes a number of huge acts. Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Bloc Party, Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs are all on the bill. Reading Festival sold out within hours of going on sale, but tickets are still available to compare at Tixdaq.

Bob Dylan’s latest album, Together Through Life, is spending its second week at the top of the official UK albums chart. Bob Dylan beat off competition from the likes of Lady Gaga, Lily Allen and Pink to retain the chart crown. The latest Bob Dylan album was released during the recent UK Bob Dylan tour which came to a close last week.

Second place, Lady Gaga, is up one place from number three as she spends her seventeenth week in the UK albums chart. Lily Allen’s latest release, It’s Not Me It’s You, claimed the third spot while Pink and Beyonce make up the top five.

Prodigy’s Invaders Must Die is up one place at number six whilst last week’s highest new entries, The Enemy, are down five places at seven. Kings of Leon spend their thirty third week in the UK albums chart at number eight while new albums from Ciara and Yusuf Islam make up this week’s top ten.

It has been confirmed that Lily Allen along with heavy metal band Antrax will be headlining the Croatian INmusic festival due to take place in Zagreb this coming June (24 & 25).

This week’s race to the top of the official UK albums chart has been one by The Prodigy. The Prodigy’s latest release, Invaders Must Die’, is this week’s highest new entry after selling almost 100,000 copies. The latest album from The Prodigy follows all of its ancestors since the 1994 release, Music For a Jilted Generation, by claiming the number one chart spot. Elbow kick off their tour at Brighton Dome on February 28. The Elbow tour also visits Blackpool Winter Gardens (March 7), Bristol Colston Hall (March 10) and Newport Centre (March 12). Stereophonics and Razorlight to Headline UK festival

It has recently been confirmed that Stereophonics and Razorlight will both perform on the Saturday (June 13) at the Isle Of Wight festival.

The 2009 Isle of Wight Festival takes place between June 12 and 14 at Seaclose Park. The festival is set to be one of the events of the summer and will feature performances from the likes of The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and Tings Tings. 2009 Isle of Wight Festival tickets are still available with prices from £160.

A number of the 2009 Isle of Wight Festival headline acts will be on the road in the UK before the festival takes place.

The Stereophonics have been confirmed as one of the acts to play the 2009 Teenage Cancer Trust Concerts in March. Stereophonics will perform at the London Royal Albert Hall on March 26 and Stereophonics tickets are still available.

The Prodigy embark on their ten date UK tour in April. The Prodigy tour kicks off at the Cardiff International Arena on April 5 before calling at Glasgow SECC (April 7), MEN Arena (April 10) and Brighton Centre (April 14). The Prodigy tour comes to a close in London with two shows at the Wembley Arena. Prodigy tickets are still available from £45.

Razorlight kick off their 2009 tour begins in May. Razorlight kick things off at Glasgow King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut (May2) before making their way to the Buxton Opera House (May 4) and the Leamington Spa Assembly. The Razorlight tour climaxes with two massive shows at the London O2 Arena (May 7) and Manchester Evening News Arena (May 9).

Bruce Springsteen to headline Hard Rock Calling

It has recently been confirmed that Bruce Springsteen will headline this summer’s Hard Rock Calling festival at Hyde Park. The two massive shows will take place on the June 27 and 28 and feature support from the Dave Matthews Band and the Gaslight Anthem.

The Bruce Springsteen dates mark his first festival appearance outside the US. Rumours are still rife as to whether Bruce Springsteen will headline this year’s Glastonbury Festival which takes place on the same weekend. Only time will tell as to whether the wrinkly rocker will be able to manage to play three concerts in the space of two days.

With a number of festival headliners having been announced over the past few weeks, demand for festival tickets is hotting up. Acts including Blur, Kings of Leon and The Prodigy have already been confirmed for some of this summer’s top festivals.

Coldplay knock Kings off their throne

This week, Coldplay have outsold their rivals and are sitting pretty atop the official UK Live Entertainment top twenty compiled by Tixdaq.. Previous chart toppers, Kings of Leon, were knocked off the top spot as more Coldplay tickets were sold in the last seven days than any other artist. Both Coldplay and Kings of Leon tours are trekking around the UK with little to separate them. Third place in the chart is a non-mover with the Take That tour being followed closely by Girls Aloud and The Killers to complete the top 5 UK concerts.

The rest of the top 10 sees support for rock concerts as the Oasis tour 2009, Stereophonics, Kooks and the Slipknot residency all feature in the top 10.

Tickets to see Chris Brown, Duffy, Barry Manilow and The Prodigy proved to be hot sellers and all climbed in the second half of the top 20. Meanwhile, Metallica, Cliff Richard and Snow Patrol concert tickets are all losing ground on their chart rivals. This week’s new entries include tickets for Pendulum and Pussycat Dolls as well as the Elton John Red Piano tour.

Take That Top Official Live Music Chart

Greetings music lovers, welcome to the weekly concerts chart round-up.

Take That are a non-mover as they hold on to the top spot for the third week running. Tickets to see the UK’s favourite are still selling fast for their 2009 summer tour. They will be stopping off in cities including Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London on their 15 night haul. Hundreds of tickets are still available for all of the shows with prices starting at £53.99.

Number 2 is another non-mover as Pink proves her popularity with UK fans. Her 17 date tour kicks off next April. Tickets are available from £58. Elsewhere in the top 10, The Killers, Kings of Leon and Coldplay are all climbing up the chart. This week’s losers feature Oasis and Metallica.

This week’s highest new entry is Girls Aloud. The Reality TV stars recently announced their 2009 Arena Tour and tickets are selling fast. The mammouth outing kicks off in April and includes stops in Belfast, Nottingham and Birmingham. Tickets can be picked up for less than £35 to see Cheryl in her hometown. Other new entries to this week’s top 20 include Tina Turner, Stereophonics and The Prodigy.
