A source told The Mirror, “Pulling out of this weekend’s gig is the final curtain call for them – especially as they’re all such huge Jacko fans.

“Things have been taking a turn for the worse over the past few months but this signals the end.”

The US group have stated “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason for their exit, after being announced to appear on the bill only a week ago. Chris Hunt, CEO of Global Live Events which is staging the show, said: “It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth shattering artists.

“The event is really getting into gear and is going to be a fantastic evening for all.”

In what is seen as the official tribute to the late “King Of Pop” Michael Jackson, the Michael Forever Tribute Concert will take place at the Millennium Stadium on October 8th, and will feature performances from the likes of JLS, Christina Aguilera, Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis.

The news of the addition of the Black Eyed Peas has come as a bit of a surprise to some, with the group rumoured to have considered splitting up within the past few months.

The concert, which will be attended by members of the Jackson family, will also feature Ne-Yo, 3T, Cee-Lo Green, Smokey Robinson, Alien Ant Farm, Craig David, Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott. The event will be hosted by Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx.

Jamie XX has been very busy on his own side project as he earlier this year remixed an album with Gil Scott-Heron and has been playing shows almost none stop for the last year. Meanwhile The XX (the band he was part of prior to his solo side project) remain on a quiet front at the moment and fans are very eager to see the band reform and get back in the studio. There is also much pressure for the band to tour again as they haven’t played live for over a year.

The news of the new remix album comes after there are strong rumours the band are planning a new tour.

The cover, found below, is a live acoustic version of the hit rapper’s track from 2007 album Graduation. It comes ahead of their August and September UK tour, in support of their recent album Taking Back Sunday. The tour kicks off on August 23rd at Glasgow’s O2 ABC, and concludes on September 2nd at Southampton’s Guildhall.

The castle is hundreds of years old and will offer Kanye a surreal and grandiose residence for his time in the UK. Also performing alongside Kanye at this year’s Big Chill are acts such as the Chemical Brothers, Metronomy and Jamie XX.

The Chemical Brothers: These two DJs from South London have conquered the world and now perfected a sound and light show which is so big in magnitude that it has attained a reputation for being heard and seen in space. Be sure to see them headline the Deer Park Stage on the Friday night for what is sure to be some spectacle.

Metronomy: Metronomy are playing an evening set on the Deer Park Stage and will bring their eclectic and dreamy sound which has brought them the reputation as one of Britain’s hottest new bands. They have been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and this critical acclaim is certainly substantiated by quality. They are a band not to be missed.

Jamie XX: Jamie xx is currently one of the hottest DJs/producers out there and with his slow, minimal and almost tribal sound he is amazing both fans and critics alike. For someone so young to have achieved what Jamie XX has is something in itself, and his live show is full of energy and precision.

The radio station will play three shows from the festival over the weekend, on Saturday 6th August, 7-10pm, Sunday 7 August, 10am-12noon and Sunday 7th August, 8-10pm.

The three radio shows will feature live sets from the likes of Jamie XX, Mr Scruff Craig Charles and Cerys Matthews in what is sure to be a great weekend of live music.

The award always seems to be a major step for the career of anyone who wins it, the XX in particularly did exceptionally well out of their Mercury victory last year. Favourites to be nominated this year are PJ Harvey, James Blake, The Horrors and the Vaccines, however the award always puts forward unknown acts from leftfield.

The singer confessed the Justin Vernon-fronted band’s album Bon Iver was “so, so special” to her and urged her fans to listen to it. In a recent blog post, she wrote, “I’ve been waiting for the new Bon Iver record since the moment I first heard [Bon Iver's debut album] For Emma, Forever Ago. My heart was shaken and stunned from the minute I heard his voice on re:stacks. By far the most moving record I had ever heard.”

Regarding the latest record, she said, “And the new album threw me back there all over again on Monday when it came out. I’m pretty convinced it’s my record of the year already. You know when someone’s life flashes before their eyes in a film, and every memory flashes before their eyes. It happens when you listen to him sing, but you survive it! Please listen if you haven’t already. So so special! The soundtrack to my heart – Bon Iver xx”

Bon Iver will embark on a UK tour this autumn, which begins on October 19th.

The album, titled La Liberacion, is the electro band’s third, following debut Cansei de Ser Sexy and Donkey. The first single, Hit Me Like A Rock, is released on August 15th, and features vocals from Primal Scream singer Bobby Gillespie. CSS lead singer Lovefoxxx told the XFM London why she wanted Gillespie to guest on the single: “We were doing the demo for it and I could almost hear his voice in it. We have know Primal Scream for quite a long time now so I wrote him an email asking if we would like to sing on it and he said yes.” In 2008, Lovefoxxx made a guest appearance on Primal Scream’s album Beautiful Future. La Liberacion is released on August 29th.

On August 21st the band will embark on a UK tour.

The Brazilian band return with their new single ‘Hits Me like A Rock’ which will be released on the 15th of August, the band have posted it online and it is available now as a free download. The single features vocals from Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The collaboration was born in 2008 when CSS singer, Lovefoxx, guested on Primal Scream’s ‘I Love To Hurt (You Love To Be Hurt)’ and now Gillespie is returning the favour.

The single is taken from their new third album ‘La Liberacion’.  Still fun-loving-party anthems with a twist of flamenco and reggae.  The album will be released a week after the single on the 22nd of August.

Basement Jaxx have teamed up with Dutch orchestra Metropole Orkest on their new album released in July.

The Dance duo have recorded live and studio versions of their songs with a 60 piece orchestra and a 20 person choir. The album ‘Basement Jaxx Vs. Metropole Orkest’ sees them also team up with singers Lisa Kekaula from the Bellrays and Sharlene Hector who has sung with the Gorillaz.

The album is released on the 11th of July. They perform together at London’s Barbican on the 14th and 15th of July.

Katy Perry Joined her husband Russell Brand on the set of his new film ‘Rock of Ages’, as he dressed up like Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue.

The film sees Russell Brand playing the part of Lonny a record executive. The film also stars Alex Baldwin and Tom Cruise.

Comedian Brand has had success as an actor in ‘Forgetting Sara Marshall’ and ‘Get Him to the Greek’ where he plays a rogue rock’n'roll star – a theme seems to be developing….

His wife Katy Perry joined him on set, whilst on a break from her World Tour. Rumors have begun that due to her retro outfit, she too is starring in the film – these are unconfirmed reports.

McFly are confirmed to perform a one-off show at Kings Hill in Kent this summer, with McFly tickets available to buy online for the show on 25th June.

Alexx – who has been playing drums since he was eight – had wanted to meet Ringo for several years, and last year his family approached the charity to try and grant him his wish.

His father Charles Kipp said: “Alexx came to me one morning and he said, ‘Dad, I had a dream last night and I met Ringo.’

“This was before we knew it was going to happen. About a week later we got the call. I told him, ‘It looks like your dream came true.’ ”

Alexx’s next goal is to learn the Beatles hit ‘I Am The Walrus’ and he was given some advice by Ringo.

According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Ringo told him: “I get the easy bit. I come, I say hi, we hang out, we have a bit of fun.

“In the band I was in, we knew when we’d done the take, because it just feels good. It’s like golf: When you hit that ball right, you know. You feel it – you feel the connection. And connecting is good.”

The musical legend also spoke about his ongoing involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation – who accept requests from children with life-threatening illnesses and try and make them happen – admitting it gives him a different perspective on life.

He said: “It’s huge. It puts you in your place. You think you’ve got a cold – you’re all, ‘Oh, what about me?’ Then you help these kids. You think of the families. I’ve got children too, and it’s got to be hard.”

Ringo has designed a T-shirt which will be sold throughout Hard Rock International locations, with proceeds benefiting his Lotus Foundation, which directly supports Make-A-Wish.

It is still unknown whether the story is true, but the news has come as a relief to music fans across the world who had reason to believe that Tiesto was seriously injured. This morning’s Twitter post read, “It’s nice to read that people care about my life. Thank you for all the support. It’s good to be alive and to get so much love from you xx.”

In a seperate statement Tiesto said, “I don’t know where these stories come from, but I’m very much alive and well and looking forward to the rest of my tour, including the second Victoria Park takeover in London.”

Tiesto will perform at Victoria Park on the 30th July as part of one of the biggest dance events of the year. He will be joined by very special guests Pendulum, DJ royalty Eddie Halliwell headlining the Mixmag & Don’t Stay In Arena, South Central and The Japanese Popstars.

Somerset House has built a reputation as one of the best open-air concert hosts around and this year boasts a wide variety of acts for its Summer Series.

Summer Series tickets are currently available below face value, with tickets for the Mystery Jets concert trading between £20 and £170. The cheapest Noah and the Whale tickets are priced at £19, and N-Dubz tickets are available from £22.

They have recently announced a tour of the United States to take place this autumn, which comes as they complete work on their eighth studio album. However, what will be more of note to UK fans is that the official band website reveals that there will be news of UK dates to come later this year.

Last year’s festival was headlined by Mylo, Tiesto, Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, 2 Many DJs, Paul Van Dyk and Basement Jaxx, with this year’s extravaganza sure to showcase equally brilliant talent. It will take place at Daresbury Estate near Halton in Cheshire, from August 28th – 29th 2010.

Speech Debelle has had an impressive year so far having won the prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Prize last month for her debut album called Speech Therapy.

There might even be a chance of seeing Speech Debelle and Basement Jaxx performing something special together on stage, as Basement Jaxx are known to collaborate with various singers on their dance tracks.

Earlier this month, a statement on the official website for the Reading and Leeds Festival announced that flags were not allowed to be brought into the main arena, in order to allow ticket holders the best possible view.

Some have opposed the ban, claiming that the wave of colours was a main feature of the festivals, and that the flags had some practical implications such as being used as a meeting point in the sea of people. However, others may be thrilled with the flag ban, especially those who have had their views obstructed by flags in the past.

Now it seems Glastonbury may implement the flag ban next year after conversations were held between Michael Eavis, the Glastonbury festival chief, and Melvin Benn, the head of Festival Republic.

Melvin Benn, who runs the Reading and Leeds Festivals and also helps to organise Glastonbury, reflected on this year’s Glastonbury festival, which was held in June, and claimed that there was poor visibility of the acts on stage because of the number of flags.

Melvin Benn continued to say that there had always been flags at festivals but not to the extent as now, where flags had become very long and tall and there were more flags now than ever before.

For now, no official decision on a flag ban at Glastonbury has been made, and despite some protests against the flag ban at the Reading and Leeds Festival 2009, event organisers have failed to respond.

Despite the summer months coming to an end marking the end of the festival season, there are still plenty of festivals to look forward to in the UK.

Of course, the Reading and Leeds Festival is still to come, taking place at Reading Richfield Avenue and Leeds Bramham Park from August 28-30, headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and Kings of Leon.

However if dance is more your taste in music, you can check out Creamfields 2009 which takes place at the Halston Daresbury Estate from August 29-30 where you can catch Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris in action.

Get Loaded In The Park is one of the last of the biggest festivals that take place in the capital, and is happening at London Clapham Common on August 30, featuring Orbital, Royksopp, VV Brown, and a DJ set from Pendulum.

Bestival 2009 is one of the last festivals to feature some chart-toppping acts such as Elbow, Massive Attack, Lily Allen, Florence and the Machine, and Little Boots. Bestival 2009 is taking place at the Isle of Wight Robin Hill Adventure Park from September 11-13.

Big Green Gathering ticket holders now have the chance to see Basement Jaxx at the Big Chill Festival

Those who originally bought tickets to the now cancelled Big Green Gathering can attend a different festival instead.

The Big Green Gathering, which was originally due to take place at the Somerset Fernhill Farm from July 29 – August 2, was cancelled because of the threat of an injunction from the local council.

Now, Big Green Gathering tickets can be traded in for tickets to attend the Big Chill Festival, providing an additional payment of £20 is also made to make up for the value of the Big Chill Festival ticket.

The Big Chill Festival will take place at the Herefordshire Eastnor Castle Deer Park from August 6-9.

Some of the acts confirmed to appear at the Big Chill Festival are Orbital, Basement Jaxx, David Byrne and Spiritualized.

The Big Chill Festival tickets are available to compare at tixdaq.com, however these acts appearing have also got other UK tour dates planned.

Orbital begin a headline tour at the Birmingham O2 Academy (September 17) and will also play at the Manchester Academy (September 18 & 19), Newcastle O2 Academy (September 21) and the London Brixton O2 Academy (September 24 & 25).

Camden Crawl returns this weekend to kick off the UK music festival season.

The indie music festival which will be take place this Friday and Saturday (April 24 and 25), has expanded each year since its inception in 2006 to become a distinct highlight on the London music calender.

Friday nights headliners Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be performing in Camden as part of their tour supporting new album It’s Blitz! also headling this weekend will be The Enemy, Kasabian and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Just behind the lustre of the headliners, plenty of breaking acts will have their chance to win over a festival crowd for the first time. Frankmusik (Saturday only); BBC Sound Of 2009 winner Little Boots (Saturday only); Sheffield-via-Jamaica dancehall masher Toddla-T (Saturday only); DJ crossovers Filthy Dukes (Friday only) and Jools Holland favourite VV Brown will all be hoping to open their Camden Crawl accounts with a bang.

In the true spirit of Camden Crawl festival goers will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy hottly tips indie and unsigned acts such as Marina And The Diamonds, Alessi’s Ark and the splendidly named Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

Stalwarts of the indie scene will also be  in attendance. Scottish rocker’s The View (Saturday only), will be joined by Brighton boys Brakes (Friday only) and Idlewild (Friday only). Recent additions to the bill Kasabian and The Enemy both have new albums to promote. Meanwhile dance fans will have their ears full with Count & Sinden and Datarock.

The full Camden Crawl line up will be Alessi’s Ark, Chew Lips, Count & Sinden, Dan Black, Datarock, Wire, Billy Bragg, Golden Silvers, King Creosite, Toddla T, Flashguns, General Fiasco, Goldielocks, Heartbreak, I Blame Coco, James Yuill, Kasms, Little Comets, Man Like Me, Marina And The Diamonds, Peggy Sue, Sportsday Megaphone, The Computers,  The King Blues, The XX, Three Trapped Tigers and Tommy Sparks.

Radio 1 has confirmed that Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Calvin Harris and Franz Ferdinand are to headline this years Radio 1 Big Weekend due to take place in Swindon’s Lydiard Park on the weekend of 9 and 10 May.

Radio 1′s big weekend is the UK’s biggest free ticketed music festival and drawing over 500,000 applications for tickets in 2008.

Also joining the bill will be White Lies, The Enemy, The Wombats, Basement Jaxx, Friendly Fires, Alesha Dixon, Ne-Yo, Akon, Ladyhawke, King Blues, Florence And The Machine, Jack Penate, The Saturdays and Gossip. They join N-Dubz and Snow Patrol who were announced for the two day event last month.

BBC Radio 1 have adopted a variation of the free ticket ballot model for the release of the highly in demand 40,000 tickets with the ballot weighted in favour of those living in Swindon. Ticket registration will be open from Wednesday from 8.15am and until 10am on 20 April.

The hugely popular event which is set to take place between 12 & 14 at Seaclose Park will now also include appearances from The Rifles, The Zombies and Paolo Nutini as well as The Australian Pink Floyd Show and Ultravox who will also perform at the festival.

The Pixies will be kicking off the festival with a rare appearance having only performed intermittently since their 2005 headline shows at Reading and Leeds festivals. Meanwhile Neil Young will bring the festival to a close on the Sunday (June 14). Tickets for the 2009 Isle of Wight Festival are still available from £160.

Other acts including The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics and Razorlight are among the band’s performing at this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival.

As well as having confirmed an appearance at this years Isle of Wight festival and two other live dates in the UK, Neil Young will perform at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena on June 23 Aberdeen Exhibition Centre the following day (June 24), London’s Had Rock Calling (June 27) and Glastonbury Festival (June 28). Neil Young tickets are still available from £50.

Other acts on the 2009 Isle of Wight line up are also on tour in the UK this year. Stereophonics play a one off special gig at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the 2009 Teenage Cancer Trust campaign. Stereophonics tickets are available from £49. The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx both kick off their UK tour in April and tickets are still available. Prodigy tickets start at £25 and tickets to see Basement Jaxx are available from £20. Razorlight embark on a four night tour in May which includes performances at Buxton Opera House (May 4), Leamington Spa Assembly (May 5), London O2 Arena (May 7) and Manchester Evening News Arena (May 9). Razorlight tickets are available from £26. Meanwhile White Lies, Maximo Park, and The View will all be on tour this summer also with tickets still available to compare.
