Taken from today’s London Evening Standard, here are the hottest open-air gigs and festivals coming up this summer across the City of London. There is plenty to see and do, and this summer looks set to be one of London’s busiest in years, with both the elite forces of Sport and Music all converging on one City. Take a look through the list and find out your ideal line-up:

The final headliner of Wireless has recently been confirmed as Deadmau5. The dance producer will head up the festival alongside Rihanna and Drake.

Deadmau5 will headline the opening night (July 6), with Drake topping the bill on the festival’s second day (July 7) and the ‘Talk That Talk’ singer set to close the festival on the following night (July 8).

The festival is set to run from July 6–8 in London’s Hyde Park and will also see newly announced sets from Kreayshawn, Afrojack, Rita Ora and Lloyd.

The Sunday Wireless Festival line up will be headlined by Rihanna. Calvin Harris, Jessie J, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks and J Cole will also be performing live at Hyde Park.

Th pop superstar is currently touring her latest album, Loud, and by the end of December will have performed no less than eleven shows at London’s O2 Arena this year, including her headline slot at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball. The Wireless Festival concert is her first confirmed UK appearance of 2012, with the news coming as she prepares release her sixth studio album, Talk That Talk, later this month.

Earlier this year, the Barclaycard Wireless Festival was headlined by the Black Eyed Peas, Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

Rihanna tickets are on sale now for the singer’s remaining UK shows of 2011. Tickets to next year’s Wireless Festival will go on sale on Friday 18th November.

The electro band will play London’s Roundhouse on October 27th – their only UK date announced so far. Last weekend they played a stunning show at Wireless festival, with crowds spilling out of the packed tent.

The hip hop superstars will perform a full 90-minute set in the country’s biggest theme park. Fans will have the oppurtunity to spend the day riding some of the UK’s most exciting roller-coasters before seeing the band perform in front of the famous Towers themselves.

Black Eyed Peas recently completed a stadium tour and last weekend headlined Wireless Festival in Hyde Park. This coming weekend will see the band head to Ireland to headline Oxegen Festival.

It seems that Jarvis Cocker’s classic Brit Pop group are down for a busy Summer of festivals and shows, with the Brixton gig coming just three days after their headline slot at Reading and Leeds Festivals.

The band have delved back into their backlog of classic hits at their shows this Summer, greatly pleasing their fans.

Pulp tickets will go on sale this Friday.

The weekend is headlined by Black Eyed Peas today (July 1st), The Chemical Brothers on Saturday (July 2nd) and Pulp (July 3rd). Also appearing across the weekend on the main stage are Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Chase & Status, The Streets, Grace Jones and TV On The Radio. Headlining the Pepsi Max Stage are David Guetta (July 1st), Aphex Twin (July 2nd) and Foals (July 3rd), with Alexis Jordan, Battles, and The Pretty Reckless just a sample of the other acts appearing.

Pulp’s headline show comes after their recent reunion – previously they had been on a hiatus since 2002. Last weekend they took Glastonbury by storm when performing a secret gig on The Park Stage.

The festival is set in the heart of London in Hyde Park, which last night (June 30th) played host to 60,000 fans watching a spectacular Arcade Fire set.

The group were unveiled as special guests at the festival’s Park Stage on Saturday evening, and they played a set packed with hits including Do You Remember the First Time?, Disco 2000, and Sorted for E’s & Wizz in what was their first appearance at the event since 1998.

The band have enjoyed a hugely successful reunion since announcing their reformation last year, and are now rumoured to be planning to record new material once their busy summer schedule is over.

Pulp will headline the last day of this weekend’s Wireless Festival, performing on Sunday 3rd July along with the likes of Grace Jones, TV On The Radio and Metronomy.

Headlining an all star line-up on Friday (July 1st), The Black Eyed Peas appear last on the main stage after performances from Example, Bruno Mars, Tinie Tempah and Plan B. Also on the first day of the festival, David Guetta headlines the Pepsi Max Stage while Chipmunk tops the bill on the Barclaycard Unwind Stage.

Saturday (July 2nd) sees a main stage headline set from dance superstars The Chemical Brothers. Also present on the main stage will be Katy B, Ke$ha, Chromeo, The Streets and Chase & Status. Electronic artist Aphex Twin headlines the Pepsi Max Stage with Justin Robertson headlining the Barclaycard Unwind Stage.

This Sunday (July 3rd), see reformed superstars Pulp close the festival on the main stage. Supporting them will be Devotchka, Metronomy, The Horrors, The Hives, TV On The Radio and Grace Jones. Math-rockers Foals headline the Pepsi Max Stage, while Funeral Party will close the Barclaycard Unwind Stage.

The Montreal-based orchestral rock band will play a headline slot on Thursday (June 30th), supported by an all-star line-up of The Vaccines, Beirut and Mumford & Sons. Arcade Fire begun June with an epic headline set at Bonnaroo, and are surely set to repeat that in Hyde Park. That show featured frontman Win Butler singing crowd favourite We Used To Wait from a platform within the audience, and their show earlier in the year at Coachella featured an awe-inspiring stage show of giant balloons, so UK fans travelling to London on Thursday are sure to be delighted. Performing tracks from their hit 2010 album The Suburbs, as well as old favourites from incredible debut album Funeral and critically acclaimed follow-up Neon Bible, Arcade Fire are famous for their energised live shows and diverse range of musical skills, with each member able to play multiple instruments.

This weekend Hyde Park played host to Hard Rock Calling, featuring stunning headline sets from The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart. This coming weekend will see Wireless Festival descend on Hyde Park, featuring headline sets from The Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

As well as playing Hyde Park, the band will play Benicassim and August shows in Manchester and a special show at Edinburgh Castle.

The rapper’s tour kicks off after his summer of festival appearances of which he has 25 (Glastonbury, Wireless, Lovebox and The Big Chill to name a few) and a tour of Australia. So he is currently busy rehearsing to ensure he provides his fans and the festival goers with the best possible performance.

Example is also working on his third album which he says is “is very rave sounding and dark” which he hopes will make him a ‘serious’ rapper: “My music is poppy and catchy but essentially I’ve always wanted to be a serious dance rave act”

The Black Eyed Peas are giving two V.I.P passes away in a Charity auction.

The generous Peas are donating the funds raised to the Robin hood Foundation, a charity tackling poverty in New York. The V.I.P tickets are being auctioned on CharityBuzz.com. and are expected to sell for $50,000 – the bidding closes today.

The winner of the tickets will get an access all areas pass to their gig on the 9th of June in Central Park in New York. Plus they will meet all the members will.i.am, Fergie, Tabooand apl.de.ap.

Although that gig is completely sold out and the V.I.P tickets might be a little pricey for you, you can still catch the Black Eyed Pea’s rocking at this years summer festivals.  They are headlining Wireless on Friday the 1st of July.  Wireless tickets are on sale now.

Jarvis Cocker, frontman of 90′s sensation Pulp, confirmed they would re-release ‘It’, ‘Freaks’ and ‘Separations’ at the end of the summer.

It has been a decade since the band last performed together. Their reuniting has been welcomed back with open arms by their loyal fans. their recent return to the stage was greeted by rapturous applause.

Mike Posner, Natalia Kills and girl group StooShe have been added to the opening day of the event, to be headlined by Black Eyed Peas.

Alex Metric, Alpines and Luke Bingham will play on the second night, opening for The Chemical Brothers, Chase and Status and The Streets.

The Hives, Yuck and Vintage Trouble have been added to the Sunday line-up, which will also see performances from Pulp, Foals and Grace Jones.

The World famous music act will play a full 90-minute set at Alton Towers, to the backdrop of the towers, with ticket prices including two-day entry to the park with full access to all rides and attractions.

The video, which is for new single ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’, was shot in Japan a week before the natural disaster struck. The promo opens with the message: “This video was filmed in Japan one week before the earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you.” It then closes with a link to the Red Cross, urging viewers to donate.

Beyonce will join other acts currently pencilled in to play the 2011 Glastonbury Festival once they have been officially confirmed. Acts rumoured to be joining the lineup include Coldplay, Arcade Fire and U2.

Fans will, of course, remember the 2008 Glastonbury Festival where Beyonce’s husband, Jay-z headlined and shocked the fans by playing the Oasis track ‘Wonderwall’.

Glastonbury 2011 takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from Wednesday 22nd  to Sunday 26th June.

Whilst Glastonbury tickets have completely sold out, Festival tickets for some of this summer’s top events including Reading, Leeds, V Festival, Wireless, Bestival and many more are available now.

This may not actually be true. Instead it was a rather laboured way of saying that his time as an international rock star is coming to a close. Of course, there is a fair chance that he will continue to work in the world of production with the DFA, but as a live performer and recording artist, he is eyeing up the retirement home.

Whether the fans are ready for him to let go is another matter.

In fact, LCD Soundsystem are more popular than ever. In 2010, Murphy and co. played a massive UK tour, delighted a huge Glastonbury crowd, and headlined Wireless Festival. They will play to thousands more fans at Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight.

Still, such is the band’s following these days that they have had to announce another UK tour – which they will co-headline with UK dance act Hot Chip – and LCD Soundsystem tickets go on sale on Friday (July 23rd 2010) for the following dates:

Jay-Z stole the show at last weekend’s Wireless Festival at Hyde Park, as he brought the event to a close on Sunday night. The headline performance attracted an A-list crowd, including names such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Princess Beatrice, Sarah Harding, Amy Winehouse, Pixie Geldof, Sadie Frost, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Joe McElderry. The rapper referred to London as his “second home” during the performance and treated the huge crowd to all of his recognised hits including Empire State Of Mind, 99 Problems, Can I Get A and Hard Knock Life.

T In The Park tickets are still available, despite the event set to get under-way in just a few days time. Prices for Sunday passes start at £114, granting the ticket holder access to see Jay-Z as well as Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Dizzee Rascal, Madness, Groove Armada and David Guetta. Weekend ticket prices start at £190, with Muse and Eminem set to fill the Friday and Saturday night headline slots.

There are currently 40 tickets listed below face value from ticketing websites GetMeIn, Seatwave and Viagogo. The cheapest tickets are priced at £32 and are general admission, whilst Level 1 unreserved seating ticket prices start at £34.

Snoop Dogg recently performed at Glastonbury Festival and Wireless Festival after a two-year absence from the UK.

Snoop Dogg was one of the hits of this year’s Glastonbury festival, performing to a huge crowd here in the UK for the first time in over two years. Hits such as Signs, Still a G Thang and Snoop Dogg (What’s My Name?) are sure to be heard at the Shepherds Bush shows.

Snoop Dogg will also be performing at Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July, Glasgow O2 Academy, Cork Live at the Marquee and Dublin Olympia Theatre.

Day tickets are now trading from £33, with 40 still available below the face value price of £47. All tickets are general admission and will grant the holder with access to all four stages of the festival.

Tickets are also available for the Saturday and Sunday of the festival. LCD Soundsystem will headline the Saturday night, with support appearances from 2Many DJ’s and Snoop Dogg. Jay-Z will top the bill on the Sunday night of the festival, with appearances from Lily Allen, Friendly Fires and Slash confirmed for the same day.

LCD Soundsytem will headline Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July, and will be joined on the line-up by 2Many DJ’s and Missy Elliot. The festival will also host performances from Pink, The Ting Ting’s, Gossip, Lily Allen, Jay-Z and Friendly Fires across the weekend.

Wireless Festival tickets are currently trading from £35. The cheapest tickets currently available are for Friday 2nd July, with Wireless Festival Saturday tickets available for £45. Ticket prices for Sunday 4th July start at £101.

Ja Rule told DJ Vlad that he doesn’t think there will be an age limit on hip hop anymore, for he can’t see his music taste changing, and the most senior rappers are still at the peak of their powers – and showing no signs of retirement.

Jay-Z headlines Wireless Festival on Sunday 4th July – American Independence Day, incidentally – and he tops an incredible bill with Lily Allen, Slash, Chase & Status, Friendly Fires, Tinie Tempah and D12 to name but a few.

LCD Soundsystem, the esteemed New York producer James Murphy’s project, are a fantastic dance-punk act, and have recorded three superb albums. Murphy has elected to retire at the top though, and following the band’s tour, LCD Soundsystem will be no more.

They have just five live UK appearances remaining – all at festivals. The first is in three days’ time at Glastonbury, with Wireless Festival, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and Bestival to follow.

LCD Soundsystem actually headline Wireless Festival on Saturday July 3rd 2010, with 2manydjs, Snoop Dogg and Missy Elliott providing able support – alongside a host of other stars.

Wireless Festival tickets are on sale for all three days of the festival, with Saturday tickets currently trading for £47.50 from SeeTickets.

Pink began her performance at Dublin RDS with a thirty metre descent from a box decorated with enormous balloons. She then grabbed a megaphone and sung the words “I’m coming up so you better get this party started” – the chorus to one of her best loved songs. The crowd was instantly enraptured. Another highlight was when she floated the audience with the aid of a giant transparent hamster ball – as made famous by the Flaming Lips.

Pink tickets are available for the rest of the Philadelphia singer’s UK tour, with dates at Coventry Ricoh Arena, Hampden Park in Glasgow, Alton Towers, before finishing at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich.

After the culmination of her Funhouse Summer Carnival tour, she will play in Hyde Park London, headlining the Wireless Festival. She tops a bill above the Ting Tings, Gossip, The Temper Trap and Plan B – to name but a few, and Wireless Festival tickets are currently on sale for £35.

Prior to the recently announced shows, it was confirmed that Snoop Dogg will appear at Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July, performing on the same day as acts such as LCD Soundsystem, 2Many DJ’s and Missy Elliot. Wireless Festival tickets are available at below face value and Saturday tickets are currently trading between £43 and £103.

The cheapest tickets are currently listed on ticket exchange website GetMeIn. There are over 1,000 general admission tickets still available on the ticket market and a select number of VIP tickets available at around £200 each.

Perhaps the most sought after festival tickets since going on sale earlier this year are Reading and Leeds festival tickets. This year’s joint festival at Bramham Park, Leeds and Richfield Avenue, Reading will see the likes of Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, The Libertines, Arcade Fire, Foals, We Are Scientists and many more take to the stage. Weekend tickets originally cost around £190 when going on sale in March, but officially sold out in less than an hour. Reading weekend tickets are widely available on the secondary ticket market below £250 and can even be picked up for as little as £225. Leeds weekend tickets are trading for even less, with prices starting at just £210.

The Isle of Wight festival will kick off the festival season this month, and is set to take place in Newport from the 11th to 13th June. This year’s festival can boast it’s most exciting line-up for many years as headliners include Jay-Z, The Strokes and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney. Isle of Wight weekend tickets, without camping are still available at the face value price of £130. Weekend with camping ticket prices start at just £185, a small price to pay to see so many huge acts.

V Festival is another hugely popular summer destination for music fans. The dual festival will take place in both Chelmsford and Shifnal on 21st and 22nd August and will this year play host to headline appearances from Kasabian and Kings of Leon. Interestingly, V Festival day tickets are available below £100, and considering many Kings of Leon fans are paying more than this to see the band’s headline show at Hyde Park in June, surely their V Festival appearance could be a better alternative, given the appearances on the same day from acts such as Stereophonics, Editors, Paul Weller and The Courteeners.

Yet another fantastic deal available this week is for Hyde Park’s Wireless festival, due to take place from the 2nd to 4th July. Ticket holders can expect appearances from Snoop Dogg, LCD Soundsystem, The Ting Tings, Gossip and The Temper Trap.

The two support acts will also be performing with Jay-Z at this year’s Wireless festival in Hyde Park on 4th July.

Wireless Friday day tickets are currently available at at just £40. Acts such as P!nk, The Ting Tings, The Temper Trap and Gossip are all scheduled to appear. Saturday ticket prices start at £47.50 with Snoop Dogg and LCD Soundsystem set to perform.

Music fans can see the likes of Jay-Z, Lily Allen and Friendly Fires on the Sunday for £47.50.

LCD Soundsystem fans in Scotland can buy tickets for the Barrowland, Glasgow shows from just £15, whilst LCD Soundsystem tickets for the gig at Birmingham O2 Academy are currently available from just £16.
