The World Darts Championships begin next week, and tickets are still available. The first round begins on the 16th December at Alexandra Palace in London. Tickets are still on sale for every day of the first, second and third round, as well as the quarter final, semi final and final days.

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championships begin on the 16th December with the first round of the prestigious competition.

World Darts Championship tickets on sale this month

World Darts Championship tickets will go on general sale on Monday July 26th at 9am. The tournament has this year been extended by an extra three days and will run from Thursday December 16th to Monday January 3rd at London’s Alexandra Palace.

The tournament will yet again feature some of the best players in the world, including Ronnie Baxter, James Wade, Mervyn King, Raymond Van Barneveld and reigning champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.

Seat prices for first and second round sessions start at £20, rising to £55 for tiered seats and £40 for table seats for the tournament final on 3rd January. Full details of the tournament schedule are listed below:

Premier League Darts to dazzle in 2010

With the 2010 PDC World Darts Championship now finished with Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor lifting his 15th title, the focus of the darts world now moves to the Whyte & Mackay Premier League which kicks off at the O2 Arena in London on February 11th.

The Premier League runs for 15 weeks and takes in all corners of the United Kingdom with the event selling out the biggest arenas in Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow as well as several others. The competition culminates in the playoffs at Wembley Arena on May 23rd.

As the name suggests the Premier League follows a league format with each regular season match consisting of the best of 14 legs meaning that draws are possible. The top four in the table go through to the playoffs where the winner is decided via semi-final and final rounds.

The defending champion is James ‘The Machine’ Wade who defeated Mervyn King 13-8 in last year’s showpiece and the new season promises to be equally competitive. World Darts Championship finalist and the tournament’s surprise package Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock has been granted a wildcard after his scintillating displays at Alexandra Palace.

The Australian joins Premier League regulars Phil Taylor, Raymond Van Barneveld, Terry Jenkins, King, Wade and one other wildcard choice that is as yet undetermined in the lucrative high-profile tournament that has captivated the nation since its inception.

The 2009 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship is set to take place tomorrow (December 18) and Tixdaq can confirm that tickets are still available.

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championship is only days away with the first darts being thrown on Friday December 18th.

Tickets to each day of the championship that runs until the final on January 3rd are still available via this website.

Alexandra Palace will be opening it’s doors to the biggest tournament in darts for the third year in a row. The original headquarters of the BBC is still the home of popular entertainment especially since it took over from the Circus tavern as a the venue for the PDC’s flagship event.

With £1m in prize money and £200,000 going to the winner, this tournament is the richest in the sports history and 72 players will be competing for a piece of the pie.

The first round draw has been made with reigning world champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor playing former BDO star Colin Monk. James Wade will face Steve Brown while Raymond Van Barneveld takes on Warren Parry.

The tension is mounting in north London as players from around the world gather for one of the sporting events of the year.

The final line-up for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship that takes place from December 18th to January 3rd in Alexandra Palace in London has finally been decided.

72 players from all around the world will compete for £1m in prize money – the richest event in the history of darts – and a first prize of £200,000.

14-time world champion Phil Taylor remains the man to beat though expect challenges from Raymond van Barneveld, James Wade, Mervyn King, John Part and Andy Hamilton.

The top 32 players from the PDC Order of Merit will all take part along with qualifiers from around the globe. One disappointment for the fans will be the omission of female darts star Anastasia Dobromyslova after she lost in the final of the Russian playoff tournament.

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championship starts in a month’s time and the countdown to the sports big occasion has begun.

Darts has gone form strength to strength in recent years, recapturing the previous golden era in the mid-eighties and taking the sport’s appeal to a whole new level.

It says much about its burgeoning popularity that for the past couple of years, darts’ showpiece event has taken place at the cavernous Alexandra Palace having been forced to move from its traditional home of the Circus Tavern in Purfleet to accommodate the growing demand for tickets.

The presence of a true sporting legend in the shape of 14-time world champion Phil Taylor has brought the sport into the mainstream in the past decade as well the introduction to the PDC of The Hague’s finest – Raymond Van Barneveld.

In fact the 2007 World Darts final saw an absolute epic between these two titans of the game as the Dutchman won a sudden-death leg to lift the title by 7 sets to 6. It was almost certainly the best darts match ever witnessed and one of the most dramatic sporting occasions in history.

The Power Triumphs in Dublin

Phil – The Power – Taylor clinched his Eighth professional Darts Grand Prix title on Sunday after beating his Dutch counterpart, Raymond van Barneveld. Taylor beat his rival by 4 sets to secure the coveted prize.

The Power has recently rediscovered his form and is clearly back to his winning ways. Following the win, confidence is high in the Taylor camp and he has been made favourite to reclaim the World title in January. The World Championships kick off on the 19th December at London’s Alexandra Palace. Tickets are still available for The Final on the 4th January.
