X Factor’s Danyl to star in charity concert

X Factor hit Danyl Johnson is to headline an upcoming charity concert.

The concert is in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Make A Wish Foundation, and was organised by Heather Emberson, the mother of a 14-year-old son who suffers from mitochondrial deletions Kearns-Sayre Syndrome. This disease causes hearing and eyesight problems and muscle damage which is often focussed around the heart.

The teenager won the Young Person of the Year award at 2010′s Pride of Reading awards, where Johnson met him for the first time.

In 2012, Danyl will join other contestants from the X Factor for the live arena tour, which begins in February.

The X Factor live tour is proving to be a massive hit as the stars of 2010′s series get their chance to dazzle huge crowds once again.

The live tour is stopping of at at all the top UK arena’s, and even though it started in February, the tour is playing many more dates all the way into June.

X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle is the top act, but staggering performances from Rebecca Ferguson have given audiences cause to wonder if the runner-up has the better career ahead of her.

Performances also come from Katie Waissel, One Direction, Cher Lloyd, Wagner, Mary Byrne, Paije Richardson and Aiden Grimshaw.

Lily Allen to replace Simon Cowell on X Factor

Lily Allen is Simon Cowell’s first choice to replace him as a judge on the X Factor, according to reports.

Cowell is said to be pulling out all the stops to secure the singer as a judge for the next series. But Allen is apparently not convinced and wants to continue her time out of the spotlight.

“She doesn’t need the money or the hassle at this stage in her life,” a source told The Sun. “Maybe in a few years’ time when circumstances change she will be more receptive.”

Cowell, and co-judge Cheryl Cole, are both doubts for the next series as they both wish to focus on the US version of the hit show.

The 2010 X Factor finalists are on a UK tour, with performances from Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd and One Direction gaining high praise from UK fans. The 2011 X Factor live tour will run until May this year, with tickets still available for all remaining shows.

X Factor plans thrown into confusion

There is serious doubt over whether Simon Cowell will appear on the UK X Factor judging panel this year, and confusion over who will host the US and UK shows.

Newspaper speculation this weekend suggested both Cowell and the popular Cheryl Cole had quit the British show in order to focus on the US version.

Cowell recently stated there will be “surprises” in the line-up of both shows, but has so far failed to confirm who the judging panel or the hosts will be.

The 2010 X Factor finalists began their UK tour last week, with performances from Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd and One Direction gaining high praise from UK fans. The 2011 X Factor live tour will run until May this year, with tickets still available for all remaining shows.

Glee O2 Arena tickets: Two new shows now on sale

Two new Glee Live shows are now on sale, with the cast of the television show set to perform extra dates at The O2 Arena in London. The second series of the musical comedy-drama has just begun here in the UK, increasing the demand for tickets to the upcoming Glee UK tour.

All of the top characters from the TV series will take part in the live tour, which had a successful run in the US in 2010. UK fans were given a sneak preview of the arena shows when the cast gave a performance on the X Factor semi-final, giving their hit rendition of Don’t Stop Believin by Journey.

The new Glee Live shows will take place on the afternoon of the 26th June and the evening of the 30th June. Glee Live tickets are available for all of the following shows:

Big names set for Belfast Odyssey Arena this month

Some huge acts are set to take to the stage at Belfast Odyssey Arena in early 2011, with the January and February schedule providing a great start to the year at Northern Ireland’s biggest live entertainment venue.

JLS are set to begin proceedings by performing two shows on the 12th and 13th January as part of their current UK tour, followed by three Strictly Come Dancing Live shows on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd February.

Peter Kay will then bring his latest tour to the arena for three consecutive nights, on the 7th, 8th and 9th February, before the stars of the 2010 X Factor competition take to the stage on the 25th, 26th and 27th.

Odyssey Arena Belfast tickets are on sale now for all of these shows and more. Russell Howard, The Script, Boyzone, Westlife, Bryan Adams and Rihanna have all been confirmed to perform at the arena in 2011.

Matt Cardle wins X Factor

Matt Cardle has just been confirmed as the winner of the 2010 X Factor. Matt Cardle – who is originally from Colchester – has been mentored by Danni Minogue over the last ten weeks on the live shows, and has recently been announced as the X Factor 2010 winner.

Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson were the last two contestants competing for the X Factor Crown after One Direction were voted off earlier this evening.

Matt Cardle will be releasing the Biffy Clyro hit ‘Many of Horror’ next week and is currently the bookies’ favourite to clinch the Christmas number 1 chart spot.

Following Cher Lloyd’s departure on yesterday’s X Factor Live show, the boy band being mentored by Simon Cowell, One Direction, have been voted off this evening’s final X Factor show.

One Direction’s departure leaves Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle as the last two remaining contestants vying for the 2010 X Factor crown.

Regardless of the outcome of this evening’s final, the remaining two contestants will be performing live with the other finalists on the 2011 X Factor Live Tour. Christina Aguilera could perform on X Factor final

Rumours are suggesting that US star Christina Aguilaera could be set to perform on this weekend’s X Factor final show, after confirming that she would be appearing in order to promote her new movie. Sources are suggesting that Aguilera could team up with Matt Cardle to perform a duet on the show, meaning that a number of other star’s are also set to perform with the remaining contestants.

Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd, Rebecca Ferguson and boy-band One Direction will battle it out this weekend for the 2010 X Factor title, and all four acts will be appearing on next year’s live tour.

It’s an interesting moniker at the very least, and certainly one to pique one’s curiosity. Sam Duckworth named his band after part of the solution to a Batman game on the ZX Spectrum, but it is not just his questionable reading material that has brought attention.

After all, no one needed a walkthrough for Batman on the ZX Spectrum.

In all seriousness, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. have made some wonderful music almost in a genre of its own – a hybrid of electronic and acoustic styles, with occasional orchestration thrown in for good measure. Biggest hit to date The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager (Part One) is a fine example of his work.

With all this talk of Duckworth’s band name, it seems natural that the third album will be called Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. It will be released on September 13th 2010, and will feature eleven tracks – including first single Collapsing Cities feat. Shy FX.

Jay-Z to help JLS launch higher profile in America

Having recently topped the charts with The Club Is Alive, it would be difficult to imagine things going much better for X Factor band JLS. However, rap mogul Jay-Z has taken a shine to the boyband, and wants to take the act to the United States!

Jay-Z was hosting a World Cup party backstage at Oxegen Festival in Dublin at the weekend, and was suitably impressed with JLS’ number one single to get in touch. He reportedly envisages them becoming stars in the vein of Boys II Men and Jodeci, so the fortunes of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan “JB” Gill, and Oritsé Williams look very bright indeed.

Leona Lewis has reportedly just broken up with her long-term beau Lou Al-Chamaa, but that did not stop her from putting on a tremendous performance at Glasgow SECC last night.

The former X Factor singer had the crowd at her feet with renditions of Bleeding Love, A Moment Like This and Snow Patrol classic Run, and performances like these only raise excitement for future nights of the Labyrinth tour. Gabriella Cilmi has been a wonderful support act throughout, and fans can expect more of the same brilliance.

After a barnstorming gig at the X Factor Live show in Aberdeen, Joe McElderry was looking forward to going back to his hotel to relax. That didn’t prove easy though, for there were two rather enthusiastic female fans hiding in the boot of his car! After hearing some rather cheeky sniggering throughout the journey, the driver of the 4×4 stopped and let the hyper girls out in order to continue their journey. One can only speculate that the brilliant X Factor live show affects fans so much that some go to rather extreme measures!

The X Factor’s Lucie Jones is hoping to find success in the charts when she sings on a new charity record. Jones was controversially voted off last year’s X Factor by Simon Cowell, after he favoured twins John and Edward Grimes (AKA ‘Jedward’). She joins Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh, singer Sonique and actress Caroline Quentin for a re-recording of Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The track will raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Dannii Minogue to leave X Factor?

Dannii Minogue’s position on the X Factor panel is up in the air, it was revealed yesterday. The Australian singer is due to give birth in July but this clashes with the show’s auditions, which start in June. ‘When the live auditions will be happening I will be in Australia giving birth, so I’m not being able to do that, unfortunately,’ she said. ‘I’ve not quit X Factor and I’d still love to be a part of the live shows further down the line. But that’s down to Simon Cowell and the producers really.’

Simon Cowell snaps up Olly Murs

X Factor star Olly Murs has been given a contract by his mentor Simon Cowell. The 25-year-old – who lost out in the final of last year’s show to winner Joe McElderry – has signed a joint deal with Cowell’s record label Syco Music and Epic Records. Sonny Takhar, managing director of Simon’s label, told BBC Newsbeat: ‘We are thrilled to be involved with Olly. As an artist he ticks every box.’ It is unclear exactly when his debut album will be released but reports suggest it is likely to hit shelves before the year is out.

Leona Lewis talks animal rights

Leona Lewis feels ‘sick’ when she sees people wearing real fur. The former X Factor winner is a keen animal rights supporter and sees something distasteful about people wearing animal furs as fashionable clothing items.

‘I think animals are treated very poorly,’ Leona told Live magazine. ‘When I see people wearing fur it makes me so sick. Especially when I see young singers doing it – that sickens me.’

JLS planning special BRIT performance

JLS have revealed that they have got something rather special planned for their live performance at next month’s BRIT Awards.

X-Factor boyband JLS have been nominated for three awards at the 2010 BRIT Awards: Best British Group, Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single.

JLS have confirmed that they would love to win an award but are focusing their attention on the live performance. One of the JLS band members told the Daily Star that fans should expect to see lots of stunts during the live performace at the BRIT Awards ceremony that will take place in February.

Fans who are not lucky enough to see the band perform at the BRIT Awards in London next month will be able to catch the X-Factor boy band live on their UK tour.

ITV says it has no plans to reschedule this year’s X Factor, despite rumours that Simon Cowell was trying to move it from its autumn slot.Earlier this week, Simon Cowell announced he was leaving American Idol as a judge to launch a US version of the X Factor, provoking speculation about his appearance in the UK X Factor. Simon Cowell set to leave American Idol

Simon Cowell will leave American Idol at the end of the this season to work on the US X Factor for Rupert Murdoch’s Fox TV. ‘The Climb’ named fifth best-selling single of 2009

Joe McElderry’s ‘The Climb’ has been named the fifth best-selling single of 2009. This news will please fans of the X Factor who were dismayed to see him knocked off Christmas Number One by the Twitter/Facebook-led campaign for Rage Against the Machine’s ‘Killing in the Name,’ and further stir up interest in the X Factor Live Tour which kicks off in February. Sales for the single were reported to be over the 650, 000 mark, a highly impressive figure given its release so late in the year.

The X Factor Live tour will see Joe McElderry and the other finalists perform at various venues across the UK. Tickets are still available for the tour but be advised they are selling out fast. Joe McElderry is now the bookies’ favourite to win the 2009 Christmas chart race. The X Factor winner is reportedly leading the race to secure the number one sport this Sunday (December 20), while Rage Against the Machine are in second place.

The Christmas chart battle between Rage Against the Machine and the winner of the 2009 X Factor, Joe McElderry, is really hotting up.
