Time running out to buy Yeah Yeah Yeahs tickets

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs tour started yesterday (November 29) and it is reported that the opening Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert went down very well with their fans.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs kicked off their 2009 tour at Leeds O2 Academy and are set to head down to London this evening (November 30). The band are set to play the first of their two Brixton Academy dates tonight. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are performing live across the UK over the next two weeks including concerts at O2 Academy Newcastle (December 3) Manchester Apollo (December 6) and Bournemouth Opera House (December 10).

Camden Crawl kicks off festival season

Camden Crawl returns this weekend to kick off the UK music festival season.

The indie music festival which will be take place this Friday and Saturday (April 24 and 25), has expanded each year since its inception in 2006 to become a distinct highlight on the London music calender.

Friday nights headliners Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be performing in Camden as part of their tour supporting new album It’s Blitz! also headling this weekend will be The Enemy, Kasabian and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Just behind the lustre of the headliners, plenty of breaking acts will have their chance to win over a festival crowd for the first time. Frankmusik (Saturday only); BBC Sound Of 2009 winner Little Boots (Saturday only); Sheffield-via-Jamaica dancehall masher Toddla-T (Saturday only); DJ crossovers Filthy Dukes (Friday only) and Jools Holland favourite VV Brown will all be hoping to open their Camden Crawl accounts with a bang.

In the true spirit of Camden Crawl festival goers will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy hottly tips indie and unsigned acts such as Marina And The Diamonds, Alessi’s Ark and the splendidly named Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

Stalwarts of the indie scene will also be in attendance. Scottish rocker’s The View (Saturday only), will be joined by Brighton boys Brakes (Friday only) and Idlewild (Friday only). Recent additions to the bill Kasabian and The Enemy both have new albums to promote. Meanwhile dance fans will have their ears full with Count & Sinden and Datarock.

The full Camden Crawl line up will be Alessi’s Ark, Chew Lips, Count & Sinden, Dan Black, Datarock, Wire, Billy Bragg, Golden Silvers, King Creosite, Toddla T, Flashguns, General Fiasco, Goldielocks, Heartbreak, I Blame Coco, James Yuill, Kasms, Little Comets, Man Like Me, Marina And The Diamonds, Peggy Sue, Sportsday Megaphone, The Computers, The King Blues, The XX, Three Trapped Tigers and Tommy Sparks.

Doves miss out on No.1 by 10 copies!

Lady GaGa has held off Doves‘ bid for the Number One spot in the UK album by less than ten copies it has been reported.

The Manchester trio went in at Number Two with Kingdom Of Rust’, their first album in four years, while the US singer stayed at the top for a second week running with her debut album ‘The Fame’. Doves previously scored two Number One albums with ‘Some Cities’ and their 2002 LP ‘The Last Broadcast’.

Elsewhere in the UK album charts this week Kings Of Leon slipped to Number Three with ‘Only By The Night’ while Bat For Lashes went in at Number Five with ‘Two Suns’ and Yeah Yeah Yeahs were in at nine with their third album ‘It’s Blitz.

A number of this week’s chart challengers are also on tour this year.

Doves due to embark on their 2009 tour this month and tickets are still available to compare for all of the dates. The Doves tour kicks off at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on April 15. The Doves tour also visits Belfast Ulster Hall (April 19), Glasgow Barrowland (April 22), Manchester Academy (April 26) and O2 Academy Brixton (May 1 & 2). The Doves tour comes to a close on May 5 at Nottingham Rock City. Doves tickets are available to compare from £18.

Kings of Leon play a series of massive shows at the London O2 Arena and the Manchester Evening News Arena in June. Kings of Leon tickets are available from £90.

The massive U2 360 tour kicks off in August calling at London Wembley Stadium (August 14), Glasgow Hampden Park (August 18), Don Valley Stadium (August 20) and Cardiff Millennium Stadium (August 22). U2 tickets are are available to compare with prices from £80.

Glasvegas, Doves and Eagles of Death Metal to join Oxegen 2009

Glasvegas, Doves Nine Inch Nails, Pet Shop Boy’s and Jane’s Addiction have been confirmed to perform at Ireland’s Oxegen festival this summer.

The Saturdays, Eagles Of Death Metal, Dreadzone, God Is An Astronaut, Tom Middleton,Aeroplane, Gary Go and Hudson Mohawke have also been added to the line-up for the bash, set to take place at Punchestown Racecourse in Ireland on July 10 and 12.

Oxegen 2009 is promising to be one of the stand out festivals of the year with the likes of Lily Allen, Keane,and The Specials joining acts such as The Killers, Bloc Party, Blur, Elbow Fight Like Apes, Jason Mraz, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Pendulum, Pete Doherty, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Script, The Ting Tings, White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Fans will also have the many more chance to see Oxegen fesitival acts as many will be on tour this summer including, The Killers, Razorlight, Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Blur, White lies, Elbow, Ting Tings and Pete Doherty.

The Killers tour comes to a close with two back to back shows at the Manchester Evening News Arena (March 9 & 10). Killers tickets are currently available from £56.

Razorlight have recently announced a tour beginning in Glasgow King Tuts (May 2), Buxton Opera House (May 4), Leamington Spa The Assembly (May 5), London O2 Arena (May 7) and also Manchester MEN Arena (May 9). Razorlight tickets are available from £25

Snow Patrol are currently on the road with a mammoth Snow Patrol tour featuring performances at the Glasgow SECC (February 25), Liverpool Echo Arena (March 6), Cardiff International Arena (March and Nottingham Trent FM Arena (March 12). The Snow Patrol tour comes to a close with four shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast (March 19, 20, 21 &23). Snow Patrol tickets are available from £34

Tickets for Blur’s long awaited return show at Manchester MEN (June 26) Arena are available this morning (February 13) this show will be followed by the already sold out Blur concerts at London’s Hyde Park (July 2 , 3). Blur tickets are available from £25.

Tv On The Radio, Lady GaGa and Of Montreal are the latest acts to be added to this summer’s T in the Park festival line up.

T in the Park last year won Best UK Festival Line-up at last year’s UK Festival Awards and look set to compete again this year with Tv On The Radio and Lady Gaga joining acts such as Kings Of Leon, Katie Perry, Blur and Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Pete Doherty, Elbow, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Ting Tings, Franz Fredinand, Lily Allen, Pendulum and White Lies who have all previously confirmed appearances at the Scottish festival. The first stage of the 2009 The Katy Perry tour kicks off on February 25 at Manchester Academy. Lily Allen, Keane, The Specials, Paolo Nutini, Digitalism and The Mars Volta are all amongst the latest round of performers confirmed to be playing this year’s Oxegen festival.

Killers confirmed as Oxegen Festival Headliners

Promoter’s MCD have announced that The Killers have joined the line-up for this year’s Oxegen festival.

Having also confirmed a series of festival appearances this summer including T In The Park, the Las Vegas band will also headline the Irish festival for the second year in a row at Punchestown Racecourse between July 10-12.

It has been confirmed that Razorlight, Pete Doherty, Elbow, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pendulum and White Lies have been added to the line-up for this year’s T In The Park.

These acts will join the likes of Kings Of Leon, Katie Perry, Blur and Snow Patrol, who have previously been confirmed as headliners of the the hugely popular Scotish festival which is due to take place in Kinross between July 10 & 12.
