The 2009 Michael McIntyre tour is now entering its fourth week and it is proving to be a huge success. Michael McIntyre began his mammoth UK tour last month and thousands of fans are flocking to see the observational comic live on stage.

The Michael McIntyre tour has already visited some of the largest venues in the UK including Cardiff International Arena, Nottingham Trent FM Arena, London O2 Arena,Birmingham National Indoor Arena and London Wembley Arena.

There are still more than forty shows left on the Michael McIntyre tour and Tixdaq can reveal that Michael McIntyre tickets are still available for all of the remaining shows.

Michael McIntyre will visit a number of the biggest arenas across the UK over the next two months including Bournemouth International Centre (October 13, 14 & 15), Manchester Evening News Arena (October 20 & 21), Belfast Odyssey Arena (October 30 & 31) Brighton Centre, (November 4, 5, 7, 8 & 9) and Nottingham Trent FM Arena (November 28).

As previously mentioned, Michael McIntyre tickets are available for all of the remaining shows and ticket prices start at £30.

The hugely popular event which is set to take place between 12 & 14 at Seaclose Park will now also include appearances from The Rifles, The Zombies and Paolo Nutini as well as The Australian Pink Floyd Show and Ultravox who will also perform at the festival.

The Pixies will be kicking off the festival with a rare appearance having only performed intermittently since their 2005 headline shows at Reading and Leeds festivals. Meanwhile Neil Young will bring the festival to a close on the Sunday (June 14). Tickets for the 2009 Isle of Wight Festival are still available from £160.

Other acts including The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics and Razorlight are among the band’s performing at this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival.

As well as having confirmed an appearance at this years Isle of Wight festival and two other live dates in the UK, Neil Young will perform at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena on June 23 Aberdeen Exhibition Centre the following day (June 24), London’s Had Rock Calling (June 27) and Glastonbury Festival (June 28). Neil Young tickets are still available from £50.

Other acts on the 2009 Isle of Wight line up are also on tour in the UK this year. Stereophonics play a one off special gig at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the 2009 Teenage Cancer Trust campaign. Stereophonics tickets are available from £49. The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx both kick off their UK tour in April and tickets are still available. Prodigy tickets start at £25 and tickets to see Basement Jaxx are available from £20. Razorlight embark on a four night tour in May which includes performances at Buxton Opera House (May 4), Leamington Spa Assembly (May 5), London O2 Arena (May 7) and Manchester Evening News Arena (May 9). Razorlight tickets are available from £26. Meanwhile White Lies, Maximo Park, and The View will all be on tour this summer also with tickets still available to compare.

It has been reported that Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and controversial comedian and former radio star Russell Brand are set to host a one off football radio show on talksport radio station.

Exact details of when both funny men will reignite the banter merchanary previously displayed on Russel Brand’s old Radio 2 show are still unknown.

The announcement was leaked by Russell Brand himself via his increasing popular twitter updates in which he declared ‘It’s true, myself and Britain’s favourite swearer are doing a radio special on football. Let’s hope Noel doesn’t get me in trouble/twouble.

‘Me and Gallagher will turn Talksport into the fulcrum of the revolution. If we can just get Wossy to come on as a guest a new dawn will rise.’

Fans of both Noel Gallagher and Russell Brand will have the opportunity to see them live in concert and theatre respectively in the coming months.

Noel gallagher will be touring with Oasis across the UK this summer. The Oasis tour kicks off with three shows at Heaton Park in Manchester (June 4, 6 &7). Oasis play seven further dates including performances at Sunderland Stadium of Light (June 10), Cardiff Millennium Stadium (June 12), Murrayfield Stadium in Glasgow (June 17) and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena  (July 7). The Oasis tour comes to a close in London with four shows at Wembley Stadium (July 9, 11 & 12). Loads of Oasis tickets are still available from £40.

Meanwhile Russell Brand will continue to bring his live stand up show to UK audiences this April. The Russell Brand tour will call at Clyde Auditorium Glasgow (April 9 and April 10), continuing on to Carling Apollo Hammersmith London (April 11) and Cardiff International Arena (April 14) before finally hosting an epic stand up show at London’s O2 Arena on Friday April 17. Russell Brands tickets are still available from £26.50

The Killers have launched legal proceedings against their former manager Braden Merrick in pursuit of compensation for multi-million-dollar damages in missed concerts and lost touring revenues and the mishandling of merchandising and promotional opportunities.

The terms of the lawsuit describe Braden Merrick as an unresponsive and ineffective manager, often failing to fulfil essential duties expected of a manager. Reference is also maked to the fact that Braden Merrick acted as a consultant to the band’s label, Island Def Jam without their knowledge or consent.

This lawsuit follows shortly after Braden Merrick originally attempted to sue The Killers and their current manager, Robert Reynolds, for approximately $16 million apiece for unfair dismissal, breach of contract and failure to pay royalties owed to Merrick.

The Killers will be attempting to distract themselves from the legal proceedings as they continue their current UK tour. The Killers tour will play the second of their London O2 Area dates this evening (February 24) before continuing on to Birmingham’s LG arena (February 26 & 27), Cardiff International Arena (February 28), Sheffield Arena (March 2),Nottingham Ice Centre (march 3) Aberdeen Exhibition Centre (March 5) and the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (March 7). The Killers tour comes to a close with two back to back shows at the Manchester Evening News Arena (March 9 & 10). Killers tickets are currently available from £44.

Fans will also have the opportunity to see The Killers at this summer’s UK festivals including T in the Park and Ireland’s Oxegen festival.

The American songstress will play the Manchester Evening News Arena on June 17 2009 as part of the her forth coming ‘Britney Spears The Circus Tour’.

The pop princess has decided to supplement her already sold out nine date residency at London’s O2 Arena this June with one final UK show in the north of England. It had previously been rumoured that Madonna would be joining Britney on stage during the UK leg of her world tour, however this now seems unlikely following Madonna’s own announcement of a UK tour this coming July in the O2 Arena and also MEN Arena (July 4 July 5 July 7).

Tickets for Britney Spears’ Manchester show go on sale tomorrow (Feb 13) at 9am. Tickets are still available for the O2 shows and are available from £49.50

Meanwhile extra Madonna tickets are also on sale tomorrow (Feb 13) while tickets remain available for her earlier shows at prices starting from £101

Other Brits to pick up prizes at last night’s Grammys included Duffy, Adele and Radiohead.

Duffy picked up the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, whilst Adele won the Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance prizes.  Radiohead’s 2008 album, In Rainbows, won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. 

The multiple Grammy winners, Coldplay, embark on their 2009 stadium tour in September. The Coldplay tour kicks off at Lancashire County Cricket Ground in Manchester on September 12 and draws to a close in London at Wembley Stadium on September 19. Hundreds of Coldplay tickets are available from £44.

With tickets costing £10 on the door and sold on a first come first serve basis, fans queued down the street to see the four-piece play a variety of both old and new songs.

Much of the new songs seemed to boast a rockier edge than those on the band’s debut album, ‘Myths Of The Near Future’. However while showcasing an edgier, guitar-driven sound, the bands new tracks still contained elements of Klaxons trademark melodic choruses and harmony-driven hooks.

Klaxons are rumoured to be announcing details of further intimate London gigs this February.

Nominations for this year’s Laurence Olivier Awards, the UK’s most prestigious stage awards, were announced yesterday February 3. Surprising to many the Laurence Olivier Awards judging panel excluded David Tennant from the voting despite the fact his brief portrayal of Hamlet was the West End’s most talked-about event of 2008.

Nevertheless, critics heaped praise on his performance. The production was recognised in other categories, with Tennant’s co-stars, Patrick Stewart and Oliver Ford Davies, picking up best supporting actor nominations for the roles of Claudius and Polonius respectively.

A spokesman for the Laurence Oliver Awards  explained: ‘Unfortunately, David Tennant could not be considered. There are nine judges and not all of them were able to see him in Hamlet because he didn’t appear in enough performances.’

It had earlier been reported that tickets for the 2009 Super Bowl had been selling far below the price levels of previous years, in some cases down as much as 40%. Super Bowl tickets usually trade for thousands of dollars on the secondary ticket market,  Super Bowl XLIII is the first time that average resale prices have dipped.  Last year, tickets were trading for as much as $10,000. However, this year, the highest ticket prices were reported to be nearer the $5,000 mark.

The 2009-2010 NFL season kicks off in September and UK fans will be pleased to hear that a regular season game will be hosted at Wembley Stadium for the third year running. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers go head-to-head with the New England Patriots on October 25. Fernando Verdasco made an imposing start where his extra power looked capable of causing a shock upset. But Nadal’s class shone through during game 10 of the fifth set which he won to secure a dramatic win after five hours and 14 minutes of Tennis.

A clash of the Titans is now due to take place between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer this Sunday (February 1). The two will meet for the nineteenth time and seventh in a Grand Slam final, with Nadal leading 12-6 overall and 4-2 in major finals.

Many onlookers will be watching this repeat of the Wimbledon 2008 final as a possible precursor to the Wimbledon 2009 Championships, where both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer remain favourites to prevent Andy Murray from achieving a historical victory for British tennis.

It would seem that Madonna is hoping to capitalise on the monumental success of The ‘Sticky & Sweet Tour’ which began last august in Cardiff, travelling to over fifty cities and finishing in Sao Paolo Brazil last december, becoming the highest-grossing tour ever by a solo artist with £193 million in the process.

Exact dates and venues of the tour remain tightly under raps until further announcements which are expected to be made later this week.

However persistent speculation about possible 2009 Madonna tour dates is surely to continue with the global superstar having previously being linked with a return to the UK in 2009 via appearances on Britney Spear’s Circus Tour which takes place over eight dates at London’s O2 Arena (June 3 – June 14) as well as the possibility of Madonna appearing at Glastonbury 2009 with the likes of Lilly Allen, Blur, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen who have also been rumoured to be performing.

Britney Spears’ tour features an 8 night residency at the O2 Arena, London. The residency kicks off on June 3rd and comes to a close on the 14th. Hundreds of tickets are available for each of the nights with prices starting at £40.

Only time will tell if Madonna will decide to join Britney Spears on tour, but there is no doubt that it would be a hugeley popular decision.

Take That are a non-mover as they hold on to the top spot for the third week running. Tickets to see the UK’s favourite are still selling fast for their 2009 summer tour. They will be stopping off in cities including Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London on their 15 night haul. Hundreds of tickets are still available for all of the shows with prices starting at £53.99.

Number 2 is another non-mover as Pink proves her popularity with UK fans. Her 17 date tour kicks off next April. Tickets are available from £58. Elsewhere in the top 10, The Killers, Kings of Leon and Coldplay are all climbing up the chart. This week’s losers feature Oasis and Metallica.

This week’s highest new entry is Girls Aloud. The Reality TV stars recently announced their 2009 Arena Tour and tickets are selling fast. The mammouth outing kicks off in April and includes stops in Belfast, Nottingham and Birmingham. Tickets can be picked up for less than £35 to see Cheryl in her hometown. Other new entries to this week’s top 20 include Tina Turner, Stereophonics and The Prodigy.

Mr Hatton looked much sharper than he did in his fight against Floyd Mayweather, but that may well have been down to the quality of opposition. The match came to an end in the 11th round when Hatton was declared the winner as a result of a technical knock-out.

Lee Evans tops the chart with tickets listed for as much as £440 – originally priced at just £30.  Near identical seats for his performance at the O2 Arena on the 4th October range between £133 and £357.50. Recent sales figures indicate that one fan paid as much as £249.99 for a single ticket – over 8 times the original price.

Other notable examples include Steve Coogan. Tickets for his forthcoming tour are currently on sale for £262, over 5 times face value. Similar mid stalls tickets on the same night can be found for £88.

Many fans parted with hundreds of pounds to buy tickets from online ticketing sites such as SOS Master Tickets only to find that tickets never arrived and promises that tickets could be picked up at the site proved false.  Joining SOS in the sin bin is Xclusive Tickets which has been liquidated after allegedly taking money for similar events from over 4,000 fans with no tickets provided.

Concert-goers are urged to check the buyer guarantees before making a payment on any online ticket agencies.  Paying by credit card will also provide some level of protection in the event that tickets are not received.  Anyone who is concerned about similar difficulties is urged to report the website in question to ASTA (Association of Secondary Ticket Agents). 

Recurring incidents of this nature are likely to renew calls for some kind of kite mark scheme that will allow legitimate and trusted resellers, of which there are many, to stand out from their murky counterparts.
