US pop superstar Lady GaGa has revealed that she feels under a moral obligation to push boundaries, both in her life and with her work.

Speaking during the latest instalment of her GaGaVision series, the singer said, “I’m not a master. I feel a moral obligation to push the boundaries of love and acceptance.

“In order for art, music, technology and fashion to move forward you have to be brave and be audacious.”

The statement comes after recent criticism directed at her recent music videos.

US pop star Lady GaGa is involved in yet more controversy after offending mental health campaigners by referring to her critics as “retarded.”

Responding to claims that her most recent single, Judas, is similar to Madonna’s Express Yourself, GaGa said, “Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded.”

A spokesman for Mencap responded by saying, “It’s an unfortunate choice of words, particularly from someone so influential.”

Lady GaGa will direct her next video, it has been confirmed. The US star will call the shots for the filming of the video to her next single, Judas.

“I’m very excited. Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing this video with her ourselves,” she said. “It’s no surprise, I’m sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video.”

Malaysian radio stations refusing to play new Lady GaGa single

Malaysian radio stations are refusing to air the new Lady GaGa single, Born This Way, due to its pro-gay lyrics. Broadcasters have removed large parts of the song, including the line: “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby.”

A spokesperson for Amp Radio Networks told The Associated Press: “(Those lyrics) may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances.

“The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.”

The singer delighted fans by taking the mic away from the impersonator.

Gaga reportedly ended her stage invasion by launching herself off the stage for a crowd surf.

Speaking to Neil Strauss, the singer said, ‘Sometimes it freaks me out or should I say it petrifies me- when I think about laying in my apartment in New York with bed bugs and roaches on the floor and mirrors with cocaine everywhere, and no one will interest in doing anything but making music and getting high

‘I’ve had such obstacles with drugs and rejection and people not believing in me. It’s been a very long and continuous road that I love, but it’s hard to just chalk it up to myself. I have to believe there’s something greater then myself.’

Lady GaGa has revealed the inspiration behind her latest single, Born This Way. The US singer has claimed that ‘My Little Pony’ child toys were to thank for the track.

The pop star said: ‘I had My Little Ponies. I was obsessed with the idea of a creature that was born with something magical that sort of made them the misfit in the world of the stallion.

‘I’m actually quite obsessed with unicorns.

‘They are in essence a mythical creature so what I’m trying to say is the unicorn was born magical and it’s not the unicorn’s fault and it doesn’t make it any more or less special or any less unique but it can’t help that it was born with that magic.’

After Maria’s cover of Born This Way became an internet sensation, Lady GaGa tweeted, “Can’t stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future,” referring to the video.

Lady GaGa performed the first of three shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden last night, and took the time to pay tribute to acts she had seen perform live in the venue before hitting the big time herself. The singer took time out of her set in order to give special mention to Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Elton John and KISS.

It has been revealed that Lady GaGa is being sued by the man that claims to have co-written her songs, created her stage name and helped her get a record deal. Rob Fusari has filed a £23 million lawsuit against the Grammy Award-winning singer, claiming he is owed a 20% share of her earnings.

Fusari says he introduced Lady Gaga to a record executive, ultimately leading her to Interscope Records, which released The Fame in 2008. The album has sold more than three million copies in the United States and Fusari is credited as a producer.

The director of Lady GaGa’s newest video has compared the singer to pop legend Madonna. Jonas Akerlund was behind the Telephone video which sees Lady GaGa team up with Beyoncé, and the comparison comes after having previously worked with Madonna on videos such as Ray of Light and Music.

Lady GaGa to judge US X Factor?

Simon Cowell reportedly wants Lady Gaga to appear as a judge on the US X Factor. The Sun reported that a source close to Cowell said: ‘Simon thinks Lady Gaga is great and really likes her energy.’

The reports are yet to be confirmed but no-one would bet against the quirky American star appearing on the show, given her ability to surprise and delight fans: back in December, she guest performed on the X Factor in a bathtub.

Lady Gaga set for X Factor performance

It has recently been confirmed that Lady Gaga will perform live on Sunday’s (November 29) episode of the X Factor. The Pokerface singer will sing live on the results show as the remaining X Factor contestants fight to stay in the competition. Lady Gaga is also set to perform at the 2009 Royal Variety Performance which takes place at the Blackpool Opera House the following day (November 30).

Lady Gaga is currently in UK promoting her new album, The Fame Monster, and it has been revealed that she will sing the forthcoming single ‘Bad Romance’ in front of the X Factor crowd and judges.

It has also been confirmed that Janet Jackson will perform live on the show.

JLS scores chart victory, announces extra dates

JLS has just announced an extra dates on March 4th at the HMV Apollo in Hammersmith and March 5th at the Brighton Centre. Tickets will shortly be available through tixdaq.com, so check back often. These new dates come in the same week that JLS topped this week’s official UK albums charts with their self-titled debut release. The runners-up of last year’s X Factor competition beat off fierce competition to claim the coveted chart crown.

JLS, who finished in second place behind Alexandra Burke in the 2009 X Factor talent show, clinched the top spot of the official albums chart and managed to fend off the likes of Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol and Rod Stewart to secure the chart title.

It was expected that Robbie Williams would win last week’s chart race, but JLS outsold the former Take That singer and secured the number one position with their debut album.

JLS will embark on their first ever UK tour early next year. The JLS tour kicks off on January 29 at Margate Winter Gardens. The JLS tour is also due to call at a number of top UK venues including Newcastle City Hall (February 3), Manchester Apollo (February 6) and London HMV Apollo (February 13). The JLS tour finishes with two shows at Belfast Waterfront Hall on March 1 and 2, followed by the new dates on March 4th and 5th in London and Brighton. JLS tickets are still available for all of the shows up to March 2nd on the forthcoming tour.

JLS are also set to join a number of top acts including Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ne-yo, Shakira, Dizzee Rascal and Lily Allen at the 2009 Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball. The Capital Radio JIngle Bell Ball takes place on December 5 and 6 at the London O2 Arena.

Dave Grohl joins Green Day in the line-up for MTV EMAs

The Foo Fighters and Shakira are the latest acts to be announced who will be performing at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin on November 5.

They join Green Day and Leona Lewis who were the first names revealed on the line-up.

Green Day are nominated for Best Live Act, Best Group and Best Rock.

However, Lady Gaga and Kings of Leon top the list of nominations with five each, followed by Beyonce with four.

Green Day’s performance at the MTV EMAs will come a few days after the final date of their UK tour for the album 21st Century Breakdown.

The Green Day tour begins at the Glasgow SECC and Clyde Auditorium (October 19) and will be stopping off at other major UK arenas such as the London O2 Arena (October 23 & 24), Birmingham LG Arena (October 27 & 28), Manchester Evening News Arena (October 30 & 31) and the London Wembley Arena (November 1).

Beyonce will be sticking around Europe after the MTV EMAs as her UK tour for the album I Am Sasha Fierce begins at the Liverpool Echo Arena on November 11 before playing other major UK arenas like the Birmingham National Indoor Arena (November 12), London O2 Arena (November 14 & 16), Manchester Evening News Arena (November 18), Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (November 19) and the Nottingham Trent FM Arena (November 20).

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl will also be in Europe this Winter as part of Them Crooked Vultures as they embark on their headline UK tour throughout December to coincide the November release of their eagerly anticipated new album.

Them Crooked Vultures tour the UK from December 10 at the Plymouth Pavilion before heading for venues including the Birmingham O2 Academy (December 14), Edinburgh Corn Exchange (December 15) and the London HMV Apollo (December 17 & 18).

The Enemy and Lady GaGa play an exclusive gig

The Enemy perfomed at the Manchester Apollo on July 13 for the Orange RockCorps

Orange RockCorps organised a one-off show at the Manchester Apollo on July 13 as a way of saying thank you to the 3,000 volunteers who gave up four hours to work on community projects across Manchester.

Tom Clarke, lead singer of The Enemy, spoke of the band’s support for Orange RockCorps and the unique event, praising how the charity teaches young people the act of earning their rewards in life.

The Enemy mainly sang songs from their debut album We’ll Live And Die In These Towns, including the singles Had Enough, Away From Here and You’re Not Alone, dedicating the latter to Lady GaGa herself.

She followed The Enemy on stage, performing current single Paparazzi as well as Just Dance from the album The Fame.

Lady GaGa also spoke of her support for Orange RockCorps, saying that she got involved with the show because she wanted to help make the volunteers in the audience feel like stars, just as she dreamt of stardom herself when she was younger.

Fans of The Enemy and Lady GaGa can still catch them in action before the end of the year. They will both be at V Festival at Chelmsford Hylands Park and Shifnal Weston Park (August 22-23).

The Enemy will be touring the UK in November, playing venues like the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (November 10), Sheffield O2 Academy (November 12) and the London HMV Forum (November 19) before drawing the tour to a close at the Manchester Apollo (November 29).

As Andy Murray prepares for his semi-final clash against Andy Roddick at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, it has recently been revealed that the British number one has been listening to Lady GaGa over the past few weeks.

Andy Murray used to be a fan of Shakira, but it seems Lady GaGa has taken over as his favourite female solo artist.

He even revealed that he went to see Lady GaGa perform in Abu Dhabi last New Year’s Eve.

Maybe listening to the songs from the Lady GaGa album The Fame has been the secret behind Andy Murray’s successful Wimbledon campaign so far.

Kanye West has revealed plans to go on a joint tour with Lady GaGa in the US

Rapper Kanye West has revealed that he is to tour with Lady GaGa during an interview on US TV.

Kanye West was speaking on chat show The View on the ABC channel and also declared that both he and Lady GaGa (real name Stefani Germanotta) will headline the tour together with no support acts.

Kanye West described Lady GaGa to be too good to be viewed as an opening act, calling her talented and incredible.

The joint tour is to take place later in the year across North America and fans can expect to see songs from Kanye West and Lady GaGa’s current albums.

Kanye West released his fourth sudio album 808′s and Heartbreak in November 2008 whilst Lady GaGa has enjoyed much success with her debut album titled The Fame released in January 2009.

British fans will be pleased to hear that you can catch Kanye West and Lady GaGa in action at UK venues this summer.

Kanye West will be at Wireless Festival in London Hyde Park, which takes place over the weekend of July 4-5.

Meanwhile, a new version of the Lady GaGa song titled Love Game has been recorded featuring the vocals of Marilyn Manson.

Depeche Mode miss out on top album of the week

The new album by Depeche Mode, Sounds Of The Universe, was this week’s highest new entry at number two whilst The Fame by Lady GaGa stayed at number one.

Depeche Mode will be performing tracks from the Sounds Of The Universe album live across the UK with the first show being held at the London O2 Arena on Saturday May 30.

Other dates for the ‘Tour Of The Universe’ start from Saturday December 12 at the Glasgow SECC until Friday December 18 at the MEN Arena, Manchester.

Depeche Mode tickets are currently available to compare online with prices from £35.

Elsewhere in this week’s album chart, The Noisettes came in at number seven with Wild Young Hearts, five weeks after single Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go) first entered the singles chart, which is still in the top ten.

Calvin Harris has No.1 single for second week running with 'I'm Not Alone'

Calvin Harris topped the singles chart for the second week running with ‘I’m Not Alone’.

Calvin Harris held off competition from La Roux whose single ‘In For The Kill’ climbed two places from last week to number two, whilst ‘Poker Face’ from Lady GaGa fell one place to number three.

Kings lose chart crown

This week, The Script have replaced Kings of Leon at the top of the official UK albums chart. It is the twenty third week The Script have been in chart and this week they have managed to outsell the competition to regain the number one spot. Kings of Leon were knocked back to second place having spent over four months in the top ten. Third place went to Lady Gaga who was this week’s highest new entry. Lady Gaga is also enjoying success in the UK singles chart where she has spent her second consecutive week at number one. James Morrison and Duffy took the fourth and fifth positions respectively in the official UK albums chart. Duffy’s debut album, Rockferry, has now spent over ten months in the UK albums chart. The remaining acts in this week’s top ten include Take That, X Factor star Leona Lewis, Beyonce, The Killers and Girls Aloud.

A host of this week’s top ten artists are on tour in 2009. The Script hit the road this February visiting the O2 Academies in Sheffield (February 6), Glasgow (February 7) and Bristol (February 9). Having been tipped to be one of the stars of 2009, Lady Gaga has not taken long to establish herself on the UK music scene. Lady Gaga beat off competition from the likes of Alexandra Burke and James Morrison to clinch the number one spot in the official UK singles chart. Lady Gaga’s debut single, Let’s Dance, climbed two places to claim the UK chart title. James Morrison and Nelly Furtado climbed three places to take second place while Alexandra Burke came third after falling two places down the chart. The top five was made up by former X Factor winner, Leona Lewis, and Tennessee favourites, Kings of Leon.

Lady Gaga’s debut album, The Fame, was released this week.
