The National are a band who currently reside in Brooklyn, New York. Their music is typically soft, haunting melodies which blend splendidly with Matt Berninger's cracked baritone. 2005 album Alligator won them praise from critics and plenty of new fans, as did 2007 follow-up Boxer.
